A month or so ago, I had been sent a letter with an apititude test in it from one of the most prestigious writing school in the US. So I filled out the test and everything and sent it in. Then sat on pins and needles for almost 3 weeks waiting for a response in the mail.
See, writing is my passion. I've always wanted to be an author. I've gotten most of my poems published, and gotten awards and stuff for my stories and research papers. So I know I'm a great writer. But getting published without any help is almost impossible when it comes to novels. So when I got this letter in the mail I was ecstatic, this was my way in! It was my foot in the door!
So I got my response in the mail today, and I got accepted to the school! I got an "Exceeded Expectations" on my entrance exam, and I can do ALL the classes by correspondence, so it won't affect us being transferred or the baby being born.
Half of me wants to drop out of my school right now, and focus on my dream. But then the other half of me would be far to paranoid to do it.
My only problem is how to pay for this new school. I can do a payment plan of only $50 a month, but with the baby coming I'm worried about costs. But if it one thing I'm good at its budgeting income......I think we could do it. AJ keeps telling me to go for it and how proud he is of me, and that if things gets tight we'll manage just fine.
But I thought I'd share my news with you. biggrin

I say follow your dreams, you may only ever get one chance! You applied for a reason, so do it!! You know you can handle things, and you have support and love, so try to brush aside the worries, and do what your heart truly wants heart

Oh!! Congrats... I like writing too.. but i have never considered anything I write to be worthy of publication.. but, I suppose i'm very critical of myself.
But, huge congrats! you should go for it. I always say that the Lord opens up doors for us.. and, if we walk through them; he is faithful to make sure we can live up to what's on the otherside.. or he wouldn't have opened it...
maybe for financial costs... mabye there are grants out there?

Wow, thanks everyone. whee
I think I'm definently going to go for it. The worst that happens is I end up back at square one.
I just have to wait until I get paid so I can send in the first payment. sweatdrop
