There seems to be a fine line between debating and arguing.
Then sometimes the debates turns into arguing.
I would like to see more debating and less arguing.
If you think you might make a comment that would be seen as argumentative, just hold your fingers. Or try and make a comment that would be seen as a debate.
We're all Smallville fans here and that's the biggest thing we have in common. Remember that and we'll all get along.
I better not have to remind anyone... I don't want topics in this guild to turn into flame wars... stare
If anyone THINKS it's an argument, please contact a mod and let them resolve it. Do not try to pass judgement yourself. 3nodding

I start debates im not going to lie. But i think people take my comments as an arguement.... then it turns into one.

Yes, true, Chloe. You do start debates and people misconstrue your meaning...
But I have seen most people in this guild on seperate occasions escalate arguments when it could have been avaoided by just saying nothing or getting back on topic. 3nodding

Yeah... I'm tired of people talking about Smallville, and then they just START IN BITCHING at eachother cause they have different opinions or whatnot... stressed
I know some people rub us the wrong way... (heh heh... rub...)
But that just menas we have to be the better person and let it slide right off us. Not to say ignore the person, but try to change the subject if you MUST say something.
(Maybe I'll work out a reward system when I catch people doing this on their own... heart )

I absolutly HATE fighting. But i LOVE debating. because debating people say their beliefs and mostly have information to back them up. then i love proving them wrong with information that i have seen.... and it goes back and fourth. I mean you are talking to a girl who took her whole history Class on a George Bush vs. John Kerry debate nad proved them all wrong...

Technically debating is arguing. I know I have started some of these and taken part in some, but I try to stop them as well. W/e, I take full responsibility for this getting out of hand.

I think Lara is referring to the type of debate like as in:
To consider something; deliberate.
or
To deliberate on; consider.

Well, I meant debate as in you deliberate over things. Like debate class in school. You deliberate and share your opinions, without fighting over it. 3nodding

And i think its because you can't realy express TONE in posts. You know? Like in your head it is coming out in a nice tone, but then someone may read it and take it as a spoiled/snappy tone.
