So, my friend Jenn was talking to her friend Chelsly on AIM, and I leaned over Jenn's shoulder and told he to write that Kakashi could kick Garra's a** anytime. So know there is a big fight over it and you, the bystander, needs to answer a VERY important question....Who would win in a fight: Kakashi or Garra?

This is so obvious in my opinion. I would say Kakashi would win. Kakashi is not only of the Jounin level, but he is exceptionally good with his Sharingan, and I bet he could be fast enough to penetrate the defense... after all he does have Chidori.

Dude. Gaara would. I mean, really--in the time skip, while Kakashi is sitting there reading his porn, Gaara's actually doing something with his life. Give the gnome some credit.

well, Sasuke was able to penetrate Gaara's sand defense with Chidori, so certainly Kakashi, the creator of Chidori, could do more than that. O.o;
also (highlight to read spoiler-ish content): in the manga, it looks like the demon has been removed from Gaara by Akatsuki, though it's not a proven fact that, after his resurrection, he doesn't still have the demon within him. but if he doesn't, that lowers his power greatly.

the demon was removed from gaara, so even if he's a kage already, kakashi will still beat him.

Naruto Part 1: Kakashi. Definately. Kakashi is probably not strong enough to take on Lee. But he's far more intelligent than Gaara. I say he's probably smarter if not as smart as Shikamaru.
Gaara would coat himself with defenses until he tired.
Naruto Part 2 ((SPOILERS)): The demon being extracted from Gaara likely makes him far weaker, making him an easily defeatable target by... just about anyone.
ADMIT IT. Gaara never TRAINED. He was a spoiled brat his whole life until he DIED ONCE in order to even UNDERSTAND his issues!

Kakashi and Gaara will fight valiantly! However, when Kakashi becaomes at a disadvantage, he will use his bad breath to KO Gaara!!
