I'm really into divination, but havn't been able to get my hands on some tarot cards. (my parents forbide them, aginst our religion they say, but why can't I do both)
Well I can final get some when my Art club goes on a field trip to the mall.
What I want to know is: What are you experinces with tarot cards and Which (in your opion) is the best deck to use. ( realy confused with that one. everyone say to follow my feeling and chose the one that speaks to me.) <-----((That's great edvice))

I love my tarot cards even though I don't use them as often as I used to. Nearly every prediction and situation that the cards showed turned out to be true. However, it all really depends on how the reader interprets the cards.
As far as decks go, I'd say get a standard deck if you're just starting out. That's what I have right now. There are other types of decks out there that can help with more specific readings. For example, I know that there's one type of deck out there made to answer artists' questions.
I hope that helps.

not really tarot, but i use oracle cards, they are great to work with, they do readings that deal specifically with the person you're reading, and tell them how to approach certain situations. for example this morning i drew the "its not personal" card, which later in the day, made sense to me. *shrugs* but i'd go with the deck that catches your attention. trust your gut!

Right now I just have a generic major arcana deck to learn all about first before I get a full deck and learn to use that.

Oterys I have a basic deck of arcane which I chose from a bookstore because of the art. It's really amazing how beautiful some of the artwork of some decks can be. 3nodding The artwork on my deck is rather plain, but it has a nice charm to it. When I initally bought them three years ago I didn't want to spend all too much on a deck, seeing as how I was unsure of if I'd really use them much, however as it turned out, I use them fairly often. 3nodding As far as getting a deck goes, I'd say to splurge and get one with artwork that you find appealing... though I still love my $10 deck from Barnes&Nobel. whee

I used tarots card twice before. It was amazing, because what they predicted was true. I want to get a deck of my own!

I've recorded a lot of my readings, and looking back on them now, I see that many of them have come true, at least to some extent. 3nodding
I really need to start heeding some of thier warnings though... I keep being forewarned by my cards about getting involved in certain situations (ie. The Tower turing up in a crucial place of a reading pretainig to love which I did before I got into a turbulent relationship).
But I really doubt I'll ever learn... sweatdrop

I haven't had too much experience with tarot (I've never done a reading or anything, I'm too wrapped up in learning about Wicca in general), but my brother was fascinated with it. We never told our parents about our new interests, because we didn't think they would be receptive to them (we were raised Christian). Anyway, he has the traditional Rider-Waite deck I think, though there was one with anime-style artwork that caught his eye.

My advice is to spend time researching different decks. Look for one that jumps out at you. When you're at a store to purchase a deck just look at the decks, maybe hold them. Everyone has different responses to different decks. You'll know when you've found the right one because it will just feel right. A couple years ago my parents got me a tarot deck as a present. As excited as I was the deck just didn't resonate with me. It just felt wrong. I never ended up using the deck because I could never make a connection with it. Make sure the deck feels right to you or you may have a hard time working with it.

I'm a collectionist and i have a lot of tarot cards. I used to read them for friends but i noticed that they remembered only the things they want to believe in. So i stopped. But i love the pictures of the cards.
I have about 25 tarots.
