This is fo' a continued arpee wit' Valeria's Ryuichi, Audi's Rosencrantz and mah Guildenstern, yo. Don't be buttin' in 'less you've been invited, dawg. [Post Order] -Valeria -Jan -Audi [From the Thread] Valeria Ryuichi, still in fear that the Easter Bunny would somehow show up and start hurting people for not believing in him, sat in a corner of the living room, Kumagoro clutched in his hands as he looked around, examing every anthro that walked by him. Jan the Verse Guildenstern peered about expectantly, until his eyes settled on a particularly frightened creature in the corner. Hm... Well, at least they'd have the advantage this time.
Presumably.
He ventured forward cautiously, hands once more clasped behind his back as he looked down at the seated... bunny... and nodded in a somewhat formal greeting. "Hello, sir." botticelliangel Rosencrantz, ever the support, merely followed in the footsteps of his fox companion, peering down at Ryu once they managed to get there. He was most likely a great deal more compassionate than Guildenstern, reacting to the frightened rabbit with pity, though he didn't say anything to that effect. Valeria Ryuichi blinks, looking up at the hummingbird and his companion, blue eyes flicking from one to the other. He looks around the room again, then slowly smiles slightly at the two. "Hello.." Jan the Verse "Hello indeed," Guildenstern echoed for the third time. Good, good - they could definitely take the reins of this conversation. "Might I have the pleasure of introducing myself and my companion?" he asked, without thought as to the oddity of an... out of the blue introduction. And again, without waiting for a response - or, perhaps, without giving the bunny time to take charge - he continued, "My name is Guildenstern, and this is Rosencrantz," he indicated his winged friend. botticelliangel "Hello!" Rosencrantz smiled aimably, rather peering over Guildenstern's shoulder. There was a moment where he leaned forward, brows beginning to furrow as he thought over whether or not Guildenstern had gotten their names right and then...yes. He went back to looking pleased. Valeria Ryuichi blinked, attempting to take in the difficult sounding names. "Ryuichi Sakuma...." He says slowly, then holds up his toy rabbit. "Kumagoro. Ryu can't pronounce your names, so Ryu was wondering if he could call you something... shorter?"

((.... xd *had the same idea, apparently* Hokees.))
Guildenstern blinked once. Twice. Hm. At least it was considered polite to introduce oneself in turn here as well. But he'd been under the impression that pronouns were also in effect. Ah well.
But was Ryuichi Sakuma speaking to the stuffed toy or to them? Frowning slightly and not a little bit perplexed, the fox crossed his arms and stared bewilderedly at the bunny, waiting to be addressed direclty.

(Lemme point out that, as stated, it was the PERVERSE part of me that suggested Ryu as someone to talk to. XD;;;
And with that...)
For ONCE, Rosencrantz was not more perplexed than his companion. Only...on the same level. Or maybe a little less. He managed to figure out who was named what, and grasped that 'Ryu' must be a shortening of the name 'Ryuichi'. Then...why in the world was he speaking as he were not himself? @_@ Most confusing. The hummingbird's eyes flickered between Guildenstern and Ryuichi, not wanting to make a fool of himself by speaking when he shouldn't...if he shouldn't.

Ryuichi blinked, looking from one to the other, then looked at Kumagoro. "Ryu thinks maybe they thought Ryu was talking to Kumagoro.... Ryu was talking to you two, really." He said, smiling slightly, almost uneasily.

((Jan's stupid gonk ))
So much for relying on grammar. On the other hand, proper construction of sentences had never been a prerequisite for communication in any other culture of the world (except for, perhaps, the cultures on the higher ends of the world) and therefore, such odd colloquialisms in the bunny's speech shouldn't be too surprising but...
But it was still odd. What connotations were to be wrought from one who spoke in the third person? "Really..." he echoed cautiously. "If it please you to choose some other form of address for us then it is, of course, your choice to do so. But I'm sure we'd be obliged if you let us know first."

(Just absentminded. <3 Like me.)
Nevermind that. Without much thought to the impertanance of the question, Rosencrantz leaned a little bit forward over Guildenstern's shoulder, the look on his face kind but curious. "Why do you talk in the third person?" It was blunt, and rather badly intergrated into the conversation, not sure what else to say to the rabbit.

Ryuichi blinks, a bit confused by the question the other one asked. "Ryu was thinking of Guild-kun and Rose-chan, if you two didn't mind? Ryu has always talked like this... Does it bother you? Ryu doesn't know of any other way to talk."

Guildenstern inclined his head slightly in assent. On the downside, he couldn't determine where on earth Ryuichi had derived the latter part of their new monikers from. On the upside, at least they were distinguishable from each other - not that that had always helped in the past.
"Don't know of any other way?" 'Guild-kun' asked interrogatively. Everyone else he had conversed with to this point had spoken, for the most part, in a 'normal' fashion. None of this third-person business. So where had this bunny come from where he would have learned this strange other pattern?

Rose-chan. o_o Well. That was...hmm...a new one. Distinctly exotic-sounding, which was both slightly flattering and very very interesting. His wings fluttered into motion - all on their own, which seemed common enough that Rosencrantz didn't take notice - as he smiled vaguely at Ryu.
At the mention of it bothering him, the hummingbird made a flurry of gestures indicating a negative. "Oh! No, no, not at all..." How was he to dictate the way in which someone else spoke? Even if it was...not a little bit odd. "I was just curious."

Ryuichi figdeted slightly at the interrogating he was getting from the now dubbed Guild-kun, then blinked, his eyes caught by the brilliantly colored and fast moving humming bird wings Rose-chan had. "Ryu's telling the truth, Guild-kun.... If Ryu knew of another way of speaking, Ryu would use it." He nods vigorously, making it look like his head would fly off at any second. He looks back at Rose-chan's wings and grins. "Rose-chan has very lovely wings." He says, nodding again.
