Begin Roleplaying Here! This is the new and improved RP thread, where you may begin RPing as soon as your sample RP has been submitted to Azalea Verde, and your profile has been posted in the Profile Introductions thread, in accordance with our new 3-point system. Your characters will now be all balanced and beautiful, and you are welcome to make any changes you want to your old characters! Thank you for your patience during the guild rehaul, and enjoy! biggrin
Everyone has the chance to remake and edit their character, or create an entirely new one. In order to keep characters realistic and balanced we have created a 3 Point System.
Gerias' 1-3 Point System:
How it works, is that a predetermined judge will look over the applicant's sample RP, as well as their literacy and knowledge in WoTology, to determine a rank in the White Tower.
0: Decline Acceptance 1: Applicant must indefinitely stay a trainee/novice (Probationed Newb) 2: Applicant may progress from trainee/novice only after testing 3: May apply to become Aes Sedai/Warder/Ashaman ect. 4: Applicant may have additional leeway in character then rank 3 5: Mod/Operative (Ex: You get to run da show SON)
To judge the applicant's rank, or if the applicant believes they have been unfairly judged, both may refer to this simple System Check, which would assure both parties of absolute fairness.
System Check: Errors: 15+=Rank 0 10+=Rank 1 5+=Rank 2 (After that, judge may determine applicant's position based on skill and knowledge.) (If characters are not fluent in WoTology, then they may not progress past Rank 3/4, based on skill) (For a person who doesn't know anything about WoT to apply in the first place, they must at least have read the Compendium of WoT thread so that they may RP.)
Now, you may be wondering what the ranks exactly do besides determine your position.
The 1-3 Point system: Priorities: 1. The One Power 2. Ranking/Lineage 3. Weapon Mastery (i.e. Blademaster) 4. Talents/Rare skills 5. Wolf-Brother/Sister 6. Rare artifacts/possessions (limited and within reason)
Rank bonuses: 0: You don't RP here! Leave! 1: One Priority point 2: Two Priority points 3: Three Priority points 4: Three Priority points w/ character leeway 5: Maximum leniency with Character and 3 Priority points
Alright, so right now you may think this limits your character, right? WRONG! It balances your character, and makes sure the less-literate RPers (newbs) don't get as much power as the rest of us! Perfecto! (Example: Mercury, we all agree is a balanced character, correct? (We already sent this to her so we can pick on her a little. lol. jk.) Well to put it to the test, we used her in the three point system. First, she is a MOD, which allows you to have 3 Priority points. And what did she use them in? 1/2/4. (She can Channel, is the Keeper of Chronicles, and has the Talent of Dreaming.) She is now professionally assured to be a balanced character! lol.
The Three Point System will also make our RP fit more along the lines of Wheel of Time. We will get rid of all dead races, i.e. no Malkier. Lan was world famous for being the only surviving Malkieri, to have the six or seven Malkieri that we have is thoroughly unrealistic. Characters can easily keep their individuality and not be from a dead race.
We will make an entirely new profile thread to organize characters, get rid of the profiles of people no longer in the guild, and give the opportunity for people with new/redesigned characters to show off their beautiful new selves. To show who has decided to edit their character, we will have all profiles begin with, in LARGE size font, the heading applicable listed below in the specified color.red]
Red - New Character Orange - ReMade Character Purple - Slight Changes/New Position Black - Old Character
Alena and Lathanam could make themselves already or newly married. Or we could have them post in the New Rp Thread (to start from scratch) the first posts. Everyone could come back to the guild with it's all new layout and go to our newly designated Rp Thread and find Alena and Lathanam's wedding described in full and everyone can start rping wherever they want with their new or old character starting then.
If people who are currently rping together both decide to keep their characters, they can just pick up from where they left off (with a short summary or introduction of what is going on) and continue rping together. If a person is rping with a person who decides to remake or edit their character and the other person does not, the individuals could just stop their rp with each other and rp with someone else what they needed. It really doesn't hinder anybody's rp, it unclutters things and gives everyone the opportunity to start fresh. It would also get rid of our less...literate rpers.
Everyone will have to submit a sample rp to Azalea Verde, who will judge them using the 0-5 Scale.
Speaking of jobs, we have thought of each MOD's strength and figured out what they would be helpful doing.
Azalea- Handle RP Samples (Judge) Mercury- Handles new OOC Thread (MOD it) (Sub for other MODs if they are unable to carry through with their job) Greyhurst- Organize Threads (Delete all needless threads, i.e. combine Ajah threads into one and get rid of threads that are useless or annoying.) Pynkchan- New thread for profiles (Handle), new banners if needed. DragonHawk- Regulator (Makes sure rpers follow the rules) Wolf- Regulator Gerias: Rules and Guidelines Regulater
Use this format when creating your profile:
Avatar: Name: Race: Nickname: Age: Priorities: Weapon(s): Description: History:
You can start RPing now! (Keep OOC compliments or comments to the OOC thread please!)

((MUAHAHA! 1st Post!)) ~He awakes in the small but cozy room provided him from the kindly Manager of The Three Bales. The fire has died out, but sunlight shines from his curtained windows, setting the room up with a golden glow. He rises from his bed, running his hand over the blue gem withheld in his chest as he did every morning, quickly throwing back the covers and finding some breeches. He moves to the washstand, quickly completing the daily routine of any officer in keeping himself clean and presentable. He may no longer be an officer of the borderlands, but it was still a part of him no less. He looks up, facing himself in the mirror, his crystal blue hair and blood red lochs staring right back, screaming his heritage... But that was no matter....he knew now....he knew everything...and he had other troubles to contend with, other than the past... He found a shirt, and slipped it over himself, taking special care to cover the gem, as he always did, and tucking it in. They were quality clothes, marking him as well enough off, and the greatsword he strapped to his back marked him as not worth the risk, the Heron's of an exquisite swordsman shining on the hilt... He makes his way downstairs, nodding to Mistress Ganam and politely declining breakfast. It was a moderately sized inn, humble, but well taken care of, and often frequented by those slight of much coin. It was a good place to keep unnoticed should his abilities prove less than welcome here in Tar Valon... He makes his way out to the stables, fondly patting Man'Shendar, whose armor, as well as his own, were well kept out of sight at a request on his behalf. Mistress Ganam had been puzzled, but knew to ask no questions...Especially about the spear... He had yet to truly puzzle it out, but there were times when...~ What? ~The stableboy responded by handing him the reigns, telling him to have a nice day out on the town. He smiled and flipped the boy a copper, mounting and trotting Man'Shendar out of the stable, intending to explore the town a bit...~

..The Introduction..
"Lily, Lily dear... wake up!" Those words are all that Lily remembers from her past. Blurs of faces whirl in her mind when she tries to remember her past. She could not even remember the Aes Sedai's name that brought her to this magnificent place in Tar Valon. It seemed that as long as she couldn't talk, Lily would lose her memory each day... Recovering it very slowly in the next, only to lose it again. Who is this little girl who cannot speak? Where did she come from?
As she wandered through the Halls of the Tower, Lily's sky blue eyes were clouded with doubt. In her mind, she thought, Do I really belong here? I can't even speak, how will I get along with the rest of the Novices? She was alone, as always. The red-lipped smile that made her whole face light up and made her even prettier than she was was still present on her face. Nobody spoke to her, they looked at her with queer expressions, and even ignored her as she went by. It was her first day in the White Tower, and she had started on the wrong foot. Though many of the people that saw her go by had a strong curiousity, they did not like to be close to a girl that could not speak, that could not express herself.
Lily had spent her days alone ever since the day she had been taken away from her home. She never gives up, hoping that some day she will have a true friend. The smile is ever present on her face, welcoming conversation, yet she cannot converse.

He is sitting inside a tavern eating his meal. He have heard rumors from the townsfolk that the tower guards have caught some famous bandits and they are now held to be questioned by the tower. He keeps eating and mind his own buisness without taking any notice at the chattering people that occupied the room. He keeps an eye though at any suspescious faces.

Laving Fal Dara for Tar Valon was not as painful as it would have seemed. Being that I have no ties left in that place, I feel not so much as a sting when I think that I may only see it years from now. We left there many years ago, she an Aes Sedai, and I to be her Warder. I would have given anything to see her again and be able to stay with her. The Creator blessed me when He gave me Alena and my dream in one package. I cannot say that it was all in the Weave and I did not have to work to have it, no, I worked. Though, my working was in the Weave, so perhaps the Creator made me to be ambitious and determined. Light, I am blessed! Seeing Master Rahenien again and telling him that Alena and I were to be wed put a bit of warmth in my heart. He's always liked me. I have the suspicion that he always thought we were going to get married one day and go off into the world to do great things. I wonder if he ever thought of his daughter as an Aes Sedai. Tar Valon. In all its beauty, there it is.
Alena led the way and Lathanam followed. Over the next hill would be Tar Valon. He found that he did and did not miss this place. He liked being free of the tangles of politics and students that the Tower held, but then, he loved the Tower. It was the only place after the Rahenien household that had ever felt like home. He felt that he belonged there with Alena. Visiting Fal Dara was like a painful homecoming. Alena had family there, but he had none to call his own. He was accepted gladly by her father, but he still did not feel his emptiness filled. Whenever he thought about family, about Alena's and about his, he felt as though there were some sort of hiatus in his thoughts. In any case, they reached the gates.
Gelanthro, Lathanam's black steed, huffed at the guard and clopped through. After dismounting, he followed Alena to her apartments and they sat.
Light, what is she thinking about? She calls me to sit and then she lays her head on my shoulder! Pah! Who am I to question? I do rather like being close to her.
"Dearest, what are you thinking about?"
I asked. There. Let us hope that my feelings were not incorrect.

Eiryn Syin wandered the streets of Tar Valon, heron-marked blade on her hip. Normally, she would be hard at work in the White Tower, working under the merciless Warders at sword forms, but not today. Today was her own off-day, and she meant to spend it among normal people. Maybe she would check the Inn she and her brother had stayed in before he left, to see if he had sent her a letter. Her feet wandered there without her mind really paying attention. She looks up at the sign. The Three Barrles. She walks in. "Mistress Ganam?" She calls softly, walking into the kitchens. The woman shakes her head, knowing what Eiryn has come for. "Thank you anyway, mistress." Eiryn says, giving a little bow and turning to leave. Still no word from Erik. Maybe I will dream of him tonight She thought. Her dreams always took place in Tar Valon, either the Inn she had just left, or the White Tower, or in a strange compund she could only imagine was the Black Tower. Somehow, in her dreams, she met with Erik. Not dream-Erik, but her real brother. They had chalked it up to being twins, their dream-sharing, until their younger brother, Einder, had met them in the dream one night. Eiryn snapped back to reality as she realized she was being followed. She turned at the next alley and waited for her shadow to come around the corner. Sure enough, a dirty looking man ina worn cloak turned the corner a few moments later, a dagger discreetly held in his right hadn under his cloak. Upon seeing Eiryn, he started, but recovered quickly, lumbering forward, knife outstretched. Eiryn had a dagger out in each hand in the blink of an eye, and launched the left one forward before her assailant had taken two steps. Red bloomed form his stomach, and he lurched, knife falling uselessly to the ground. She retrieved her dagger and wiped the blood on his cloak. Time to leave. She thought, replacing the dagger up her sleeve and returning to the crowded streets. Thats enough adventure for today. She thought. I'll head over to the practice yard for a few moments, see if Lathanam Gaidin and Alena Sedai are back yet. Lathanam Gaidin is an excellent blademaster. She passed the guards at the edge of the Tower grounds with a nod and went up to the Practice Yard.

~Man'Shendar snorted as they came close the the white tower, enjoying the beauty of the Ogiers almost as much as Allad did.... His hand once again brushed against the blue gem embedded in his chest, and flashes of those very things the Aelfinn had tought him rose to the surface without being called upon...He looked away from the tower, casting his eyes out across the crowd. He saw a regal-looking woman walking towards the tower gates with a man behind her. A Recognised Aes Sedai and her warder no doubt...but the woman looked familiar...He looked the couple over as closley as he could from his distance, but decided to pay them no mind. Aes sedai were always trouble to get involved with...one way or another they came out on top...when using words anyway...~ Caballien misain ye, not a prisoner of the white tower... ~he then turned his attention back to the tower, once again admiring the exquisite skill of the Ogier Masons...~ Kiserai ti Wansho... ~Man'Shendar seemed to snort in agreement..~

"Qweh?" Whats this...?, gren sprightly picked up the shining angreal hidden at the base of the Big Tree. When did you find it? she looked to the three puppies watching her pluck up the object with large baby eyes. Early light after food when play. they all told her in unison. She hugged them, "I love you guys..." Thank you small pups. Sitting right up against the tree she watched the babies play, studying the small object and making sure that they were safe.
South of Arafel, in the massive woods that separated the city with Tar Valon, gren and her only remembered familly could be found. With her assistance the pack was gowing, there were now six adults and three half grown puppies, one of the females was pregnant too. She'd spent may years with the pack, learning to understand them, be like them, and tresure the gifts they brought her no matter how silly many were. In fact the tree she slept in she hung all her gifts from, the pack below her safely and no one to bother them.
The angreal she held was a sort of circlet, meant for one to wear on the head. A green jewel with a silver center, it held, in root like tendrills of pearly smooth stone that branched from the beautiful rootlike black stone that formed the headpiece. She set it on her head. It fit perfectly, "Look at me!" Babies! See? she giggled, bounding around and modeling it for them. Flower. one said, her white tail wagging, the complexity of petals even to her colorblind eyes was beautiful. Powerful! another yipped, runing and jumping at her. Thinking of the amaizing strides his father took when running. Small tree rock. one scratched at the dirt by the tree, looking for somthing else she would like so much. She lay down on her side, playing with two of the puppies and cuddling them. "silly baby come back!" she grinned, laughing Come play tree rock pup. she giggled, pouncing on him near the tree.
When would the adults come back? she thought to herself, they would bring food and she figured everyone would be nice and hungry, she'd have to make sure no one got hurt and everyone got enough food, lately white lord was picking on the other males a lot, especially the babies...
Her circlet was forgotten at the moment, though with her happyness beautiful white flowers just flowed out of her fingers as she touched the earth and trees, her love for her surroundings more than ever before as she felt every day of her life.

: Azalea looked to the two guards beside her, they both nodded in response so she cautiously opened the large cast-iron door. As she entered the dimly lit room, Azalea's many Ter'Angreal chimed together melodiously, accompanied with the soft swishing sound of her silken skirts. The lithe White sister seated at the table rose at the Green Sitter's entrance, giving one last weary look to the two men seated at the table. "I trust you have been listening?" Marielle asked, though she already knew the response. Azalea nodded, "Yes, I have." The Aes Sedai nodded as well, pleased, "I will leave you to them then. Good day." With that Marielle nodded respectfully, but not with the slightest deference, and left.
Surveying the room as she took Marielle's place at the small table, Azalea saw a group of Aes Sedai in the corner, weaves of Air and Spirit woven between them. Turning back to the two men at the table, she studied them closely. One man, whom she assumed to be Vasquez, had longish coal-black hair and the tanned skin of a Sea Folk. Topping off his appearence perfectly, and proving his identity true, was his false arm, which shone to her as a creation of the Power. Azalea fingered one of her Ter'Angreal lovingly before resigning her hands to her lap. Turning her attention to the other man, she saw Vasquez's partner, Anonitas. He also had dark hair and chestnut brown eyes, but his features differed greatly from that of his friend. While Ironhand had a bemused look on his face, his eyes shone with dispare. Anon though, appeared purely miffed, causing Azalea's lips to quirk into a half-smile.
Putting on the Aes Sedai serenity, Azalea looked at the two men calmly before speaking. "Why," She began curiously, "would anyone choose to become a professional outlaw? What was it that appealed to you about it?" Azalea cocked her head to the side in interest, for this was something she had been contemplating since she had first heard of the capturing of Ironhand and the White Demon. Surely there were easier ways to aquire fortune, ways less perilous and inhumane, Azalea thought to herself, Don't they realize this? :

The sound of people yelling awoke Yoka. He sat up in wonder and was suprised as to how late he slept. He leaped out of bed and threw on his clothes and cloak. He ran to the door and picked up his sword. He flew down the stairs skipping every two steps in hurry to get outside. Other residents of the inn quickly got out of his way in fear of being crushed by him.
He swung open the down and squinted at the bright sun and began running to the White Tower. As he got to the gate he saw Marielle walking out. He asked what he had missed but she just smirked at him and walked away. Yoka was very dissapointed in himself for missing the questioning of the two bandits. He knew that Azalae would be in there still talking to the bandits but he did not want to disturb her. He gloomily walked away from the White Tower hoping that something would happen so he would not be so bored.
As he passed by an alley he looked down into it and saw the body of a rugged man holding a dagger. He walked up to the corpse and examined it closely. He searched for wounds and noticed that he had been stabbed in the chest. He was very curious as to what had happened here but he figured it wasn't a big deal.
Yoka decided to travel outside of Tar Valon for a while and enjoy the day. He went out the gate and traveled to the nearest tree and began practicing his skill with his sword. He swung at the tree one stroke at a time imaging it was a Fade. He spun around and swung at the tree with his sword and chopped the tree down. He stared at his sword and adored it's slight curve and perfect shine. He slid it back into its sheathe and walked to the next tree and sat under it thinking of what to do.

Kali was without sweat as she twirled her blade, her braid sliding over her back as she spun to hit Wes with it, she'd dressed according to the occasion brown leggings and a tunic that fit her loosely, hiding her shapely figure well enough for her purpose. Her breath was even as she came back to front, staring intently at Wes attempting to determine his next move, she wasn't half as good as him. The only reason he was probably sparring with her was the fact that she needed the physical exercise. The small knot in her head that was him was something familar to her, something she enjoyed feeling considering it'd taken ages to actually be able to bond him.
"Come now...hurry up. I've got this book i'm dying to read..." She mummered softly, a slight smile tugging at the corner of her lips once more. She was truely enjoying herself, as she'd found someone to care about her as well as having that book to read. Her dark eyes remained on her opponet, waiting patiently for his next move. He always won, as was to be expected, but she needed the practice badly! Wes was saying that she spent to much time sitting at the library, or in her room, reading away and not even coming out for days. He had to remind her to eat occasionaly and even get up to use the chamberpot. Other wise she'd sit there fidgeting and her stomach growling until the book was done. Not only that but she was intently writing a book about Dreaming as well, as she was a Dreamer as well as Wes was and had quite a good strength in that area. She'd done good to learn so much, and rather enjoyed the world presented to Dreamers. Soon, she hoped, she'd be able to take care of matters in that book.

Lily heard movements nearby at the practice yard and walked towards it. More dreamily than conciously. Her loneliness was eminent as she seemed to be in a daze, as if nothing in the world mattered. When Lily arrived at the yard, the sparring that was going on amazed her. She was not educated in the fighting section, and thought that all fighting was for purposes of war. Though she could not say a word, her brows knitted together in confusion at what was going on. Why would a man and a woman fight in the White Tower? I thought this place was peaceful.. For the sake of curiousity, she stood near the wall watching. Between long periods of time, the wind would rustle her red hair along with her dress. But her eyes were concentrated on the fight, as it seemed to her.
