Here you go! The place we all love to get our character developed. Now we must take the time to work out a character who we can actually enjoy "becoming" and thinking like them to figure out what we want to do with their lifes. In the following threads, please follow all the procedures and get your character down to a "T". I will check... so don't think I will catch on. Muahahaha.

Some other added info:
Characters are most eaisly made by using the White Wolf Table Top rules.
For those of you that do not own the book, try this out: http://software.detonationboulevard.com/exampleCS.htm
It is an example of a sheet, but it has all the information you need to get started, combined with the info Provided above.

Also:
15 Freebie points, these are points you can spend on anything.
Most things are one for one.
The exception that jumps at my throat is Disciplines.

They work like this:
3-3-6-6-9-9. As in buying the first and second levels, IE basic cost 3pts and so on.

A note on Sabbot or and Anti-tribute characters in the San Diego area. San Diego is considered a City at War by current WW Story Lines(I am unsure of Momo's game, but I am assuming this is so for this game as well.) As such, bringing an Anti-trib, or Sabbot into this game to interact with the Camarrilla is a death sentence. Just something to keep in mind. If you don't mind losing a character feel free.

Backgrounds:
Any freebie points you spend in Backgrounds need to be approved by the Story Teller. In this case: The Guild Leader.
The normal 5 you get to spend in Background do not need to be approved unless it is the Background: Military.
Easy explantion on this: A Vampire CAN NOT be in the Military, any Military, based on the need for Military Personal to be out in the sunlight. Must often the easiest way to get items you think you would need Military for, is Underground, or Street.

Generation:
I believe you are able to buy down to 7th Generation, but I am unsure. I also beileve the book standard for starting Gen is 13th. Most 14th and 15th Generation Vampires do not survive for too long, and if memory serves there are special rules for vampires that far removed from Caine.
Normally the way to represent a generation "Buy down" is with the Background: Generation.
This migth be a bit confusing as some current players have low Generations, but no points in the Background. At this time I am unsure how we are going to resolve this.

(Again these rules are subject to change by the guild leader.)

A note on Freebie points and Generation.
Freebie points can only be used during character creation, each different part on the character sheet has a different cost.
Here's the chart from the book:
Trait Cost
Attribute 5 per Dot
Ability 2 per Dot
Discipline 7 per Dot
Background 1 per Dot
Virtue 2 per Dot
Humanity 1 per Dot
Willpower 1 per Dot

As for Generation, Skits was right in saying that the general starting point is Gen 13, but since one can only buy up to 5 points in any given background, the lowest a character can be at game start is Gen 8.

Depending on the chronicle you join, you post your character in either the San Diego Characters or the Australia Characters.

Hey, new member here. I'll make a character soon. Just thought I'd give you guys a link of a good site to look at for char creation.

I've found that one before while looking for Merits and Flaws...since I had forgotten exactly where I put my book. The information on this page isn't all that correct, at least for the Merits and flaws, the only place I actually looked. For general knowledge it's okay, but point values and effects are a bit iffy.

Yeah, i definitely read most of that site. A lot of the information is outdated, but still for general information it works.

maybe could post up the changes in info...or is it against copyright laws to just...copy and paste the merits and flaws into somewhere here?

Well for gaming right.. I don't think it would be copywrite. We are giving them rights as a company and we are playing their game. I don't think it's too wrong.
