I don't have one (lack of room), but I would have to have a big one, cuz I'd want my whole BoS on it (It's over a thousand pages and may have even surpassed 2 thousand by now... ninja ). I'd probably have that in the center at the side that I would stand at. Right above that, I'd have candles. And I'd have incence on it somewhere. And all my five billion rocks on there randomly. And my feathers.
Here's a hastily done pic of what it would look like:

The green boxes at the bottom are my BoS, the skinny green one is incence. The green circles are candles, the green thing in the corner is my statuette of Bast, the red circle is my baby Buddha, the orange circle is this little dragon I have (it's in an egg half-way. ^_^), the blue things are random rocks/stones. The purple things are feathers, and the weird green thing at the top is a pine cone I have. >.< lol

Yay! That is awsome. I'm afraid mine is quite Plain. I don't have my bos on mine. I normally memorize and such. sweatdrop I mostly make my own rituals randomly, and they work really work well when I do that. So I don't use my BoS very often. Just to write down information I gather.

Dragon_Witch_Woman Mine is small and simple. But I like it. its tucked inbetween a mouse tank and a rat cage xd . That is an interesting place for it. Currently mine is taken down because of hte people that have been here for the past few weeks. They are uber christian and I rather not get into a conflict with them even though it is my own house.

Dragon_Witch_Woman *snorts* another thing i learned from my trip to chicago....bend for NO ONE. All of my Ultra-Christian relatives can kiss my a**. I totally agree with that.
Our family altar is really like an entire half (at least) of the "dining" room. Its hard to describe and I don't have any pictures. But you definately can't miss it or miss WHAT it is.
But the altar proper is an old typing table that I have a very emotional attachment to, given to me by my chosen mom. On it we have the normal assortment of candles and incense, along with my Hammer, small Cat figurine, blot bowl, runes (between castings at least) and his Dragon figurine and mortar and pestle. On the wall directly above that, we have some wall sconces my G-ma gave us, his nifty spice rack (that holds like... everything), and the whatchamacallits we made for the wights in return for their assistance in helping us ward the house.
On the wall to the right of the altar (its in a corner, sort of) is the hearth and mantle. That sort of is self explanatory, but being that I'm a damned heathen, I have a collection of pictures and other family momentos up there. Directly out from the altar corner, we have a windchime given to us by his mother. It sort of signifies where the sacred area starts, though basically the entire room is taken up by altar stuff anyhoo.
Between the altar on the left wall and the fireplace on the right, in that immediate corner, we have a built in cabinet/counter area. On that is the chest that holds the smaller ritual objects, a basket made for me by a very old friend in which I like to leave flowers or veggies or whatnot to mark the season, and our drinking horns. On both this counter and the altar proper, we use tartan scarves in the family plaids (both of us being scot and irish, we have an assortment of them to choose from) instead of altar cloths. In the cabinet above this, we keep the sharp pointies and matches and other objects that we don't want our very curious toddler getting into.
And of course, don't forget the cats that take up residence on the altar quite often. We have the required black one, Mistress Kitty, and our orange tom-kitten, Muffin. heart

I have an altar in my bedroom. I would take a picture, but I've been having issues with my camera lately. I would love to build my own, but I am getting ready to move and I don't really want to make something that I will have to leave behind. Right now I am just using an short old coffee table from like the 70's. I keep most of my supplies under it, and I usually keep insence burning. I have a couple candles on it, but I usually keep it pretty clear unless I'm working with something. I have a dog that likes to chew on my stuff so I usually have to keep everything up a bit higher...

Since I'm living in an apartment, space is very limited. My altar simply consists of two statues of the Goddess Bastet. One of her in feline form, and one of her on a throne in human form.
