Straight from the Clanbook of Toreadors:

Effete poseurs, naive dreamers, hedonists, lovers, creators of beauty, sardonic critics, murderous seducers and devout visionaries- the Toreador are all these things and more. The Toreador, despit their vampiric nature, are more like us than any other Kindred, for they still possess the energy and vision they had in life.

Though they intermix with the kine more than other Kindred, they hid behind the Masquerade they have created, keeping their secrets safe. As we get a glimpse of them, do not fix your gaze for too long. They are masters at perfecting appearances. We can only see a brief vision of whay they truly are.

This is the place to talk about Toreadors in general: character creation and development, flaws, merits, and weaknesses.

I would be a help to all.

Clan History

The Hellensistic Period

Toreador lived all across the ancient world, living promiment roles in Crete, Mesopotamia, and more, but Ancient Greece was where the clan concentrated. This is where they established their civilization. These Kindreds were like gods to the kine, and some Toreadors say they inspired Homer and other tales of Greek mythology. Toreadors were a major factor in Athens. For a while, it seemed that Arikel would try to establish a 3rd city, far greater than the first two.

The Lasombra and Ventrue who controlled Sparta had no desire to see Athens like this. The Peloponnesian Wars began. In the end, the Toreador were left with the power, and Athens turned into a great city. the Ventrue and Brujah of Macedonia invaded Greece, which stripped Toreadors from power, and the clan was no longer united.

The Punic Wars

After the decline of Greece, Toreadors were spread out across the Mediterranean and into Persia. Some went to Carthage with the Brujah to pursue the arts, however, Carthage drew all clans together and began a united quest for Golconda.

Rome, however, was controlled by Malkavians and the Ventrue, and was becoming a major power. The Venture wanted Carthage, and this led to the Punic Wars. Rumor has it a a Toreador traitor told the Venture what they needed to know to defeat the Toreadors.

Thank you darling. I found the images for the clans off google cause I'm the master like that. I figured I'd start with banners for the individual clans first, then work up to banners for the whole guild. We need a frontpage banner and such. I just have to find good pictures. My editing system isn't much, I wish I had something better. These were made in paint, and I'm going to try roxio photosuite 5 that I have for the others. mhmm

I'm in love with my torrie. I'll keep making the personal tags as we add clans, The new ones have them already.

Toreador is the best clannnn *cuddles it*

I still don't quite understand why many don't like the Toreadors. A lot of kids that play the pencil and paper version at school detest them completely. I like the Toreadors. They may not be the most hardy clan, but they can get the job done.

Pfft. Yeah, they hate me, but we'll ignore them *beats down Johnny B. They love me for real, so I win anyways.

I love my Torrie, she's pretty, and she has my nature in most ways. Toreador is a great clan, there's no reason to detest us

Some of the most powerful LARP characters I have played have been Torrie. And almost every character I have ever played has been at least allied with the Toreador. I think people dislike Toreador on the surface cause they expect the game to be a bit more combat orienented. Which it is not.

Oh well.. smile

I've played Toreador on many occasions. They were my favorite clan untill I found out Brujah a little better. Toreador's grace and speed make them very formidable foes and their social graces make them wonderful to play as. I've a lot of respect for that clan as a player.

Well, one of my friends told me that Toreador Antitribu have a somewhat unique discipine, to say the least. This discipline is known as Gliterism, better known as control over the sun. Of course, the friend that told me this also had True Faith up the whazzoo and could create other planets, if need be.
