This is a PRP (A first for the quester guild =3) for Marshall_Green and Princess Iona Ellington. If you would like to join, please get permission from either me or PIE.

Marshall hadn't kept a good track of time since he came to the Island. He never saught out a Calander or even set the alarm on his digital clock. In fact, he had given up wearing a watch. But, despite all of this "time avoidance", there was one day that he always noticed.

Sunday, the first day of the week.

As the sun rose above the small Island, Marshall was already wide awake, sitting on the beach in his vest and shorts, sipping on a mug of coffee. He didn't particuarly like the taste, mind you, but found the familiarity of it...pleasing. Next to him was a small flash-light, obviously used to beat the night's darkness.

The rising sun was always a sign for Iona that she had survived another day as a human being on the dreaded island she now called 'home'. A morning walk would help her think a bit more positivly.

She had left her room with her yellow and black dress and a yellow hat atop her head. Iona thought about where she could enjoy a peaceful stroll. The beach. Calm and serene and one of the best places to watch the rays of the new morning reflect on the water.

Iona walked down the shoreline all the while picking up sea shells along the way she thought would make lovely decorations. A shell she had placed in her palm began to move which startled the young lady. "Eeeeek!" She quickly dropped the shell and backed away. Afraid it would move again.

Marshall, unaware of any visitors, sipped the warm, bitter liquid slowly. Lost in thought...Nothing particuarly deep, mind you, but thought none the less.

Sunday...Why do I always do this on Sundays? Why not Saturdays? Well I'm usually watching Cartoons on Saturday, but still...Perhaps Mondays? But every one despises Mondays...

Before Marshall could continue with his on-going monolouge, a rather feminine shreik came from behind him. "EH?!" he said, turning around swiftly, only to spill his coffee on his vest. He didn't notice it, mind you, as he saw a young woman wearing mostly yellow. Marshall smiled at the familar sight.

"Oh...Hey Iona!" Marshall said as he got to his feet, still not noticing the large brown stain on his mid-section.

Iona stared at the shell and its hermit crab owner. "Scared the living daylights out of me...," she muttered under her breath to the small creature.

She looked up to see a man rising to his feet. She instantly recognized him and blushed. She must have looked like a fool.

"I do apologize for my scream. Did I disturb you at all Marshall?" Iona eyed the stain on his vest, curious as to its brown tint. "Did you get mud on your vest?"

"Huh? Oh...Um...No...Its coffee...Heh..." Marshall said, blushing as he looked down at his vest. He must've looked like a moron! This thought, of course, made him turn a even deeper shade of crimson.

"So, um, what are you doing up so early?" he asked with his trade-mark smile. He had the kind of smile that most people lost once they turned 10; it was just simple and chaste with really no shame behind it.

A look of worry appeared on her face. "I hope it was not hot coffee. That could scald you!" Without thinking throughly, she reached out and touched the stain. "You are lucky you have such a think vest." Then, she realized what she was doing and pulled her hand back as if it had been burned. More shades of red sweeped across her face.

Iona smiled weakly back at him. "I though a morning walk would help clear my mind. This island...." She could not say anymore, less she start to cry infront of him.

Marshalls smile quickly turned to a look of concern. Even if she did look mature, and carried her self in a grown-up fashion, Iona was still only 19 years old!

Gently, he took her hand, trying to comfort her. "Hey...C'mon now...No need to cry..." he said. There were PLENTY of reasons to cry, but still, that was a diffrent matter. "I know its scary but...Its not like we're alone. Its not as scary if you go through it with other people...Rex taught me that much."

She lifted her other hand and brushed away a forming tear drop. "But...why does it have to be us? Why not just anybody off the street? Do we all have something he's looking for in a guinea pig?" Her voice was soft and she knew she must have sounded selfish, but it all didn't seem quite fair in her mind.

She looked at Marshall and smiled softly. "You are right....at least there are others out there." And they have suffered more than us....severe pain and unhappiness.. Another tear appeared and rolled down her cheek.

The small smile from Iona wasn't enough to make Marshall stop worrying. Gently, he pulled her in for a hug. He blushed akwardly as he did so, kind of scared as to how she'd react.

"I-I know its not very fair. For any of us to be here, I mean..." he said gently, "But, um...Like I said...At least we're not alone. We're all here for you...Rex, Avery, Chubbs, Awen, Brian, even me...Espically me." he said gently.

...I really do suck at this.

The hug was welcoming and comforting. Her father's hugs was what they reminded her of. Iona burrowed her face into Marshall's chest, hoping all of this would go away and she'd be back at home doing the same boring routine.

"Marshall...you are...soft," she mumbled, her face still buried. She was starting to nod off. Maybe it was the sun and the island's weather that was effecting her. Either way, the man was making a nice pillow as of now. The things he had said repeating inside her mind. These people care....

"S-Soft?" Marshall repeated softly with a blush as Iona slowly began to fall asleep in his arms. A smile passed along his face, for the first time feeling...needed. He rather liked it. His hug tightened a little, closing his eyes with his unwavering smile. The feel of her against him, the smell of her hair, her petite frame in his arms...He loved it all. And, even though he was far to shy to admit it just yet...he loved her.

...This is why I do this on Sunday.

Iona sighed peacefully. Was this pure bliss? Whatever it was it was wonderful, but her mind started to nag her. What about her family back home? What if her father saw them together? The horrors that would rain down upon the both of them! But would she ever see her father again? Most likely not.....

Suddenly, a bug began to buzz right next to her ear. She turned her head the other way to avoid the annnoying pest, but it kept buzzing. She gently lifted a hand, trying not to bother Marshall, and swatted at it. The bug kept swarming around and was really ruining the mood she was in.

Marshall was in a state of pure bliss holding her. Perhaps it was because he had always loved hugs to begin with. Or, and more likely, perhaps it was because he was with a very pretty blonde girl on a beach. Either way, it was highly enjoyable.

That is, until she started...Well he wasn't sure what it was. Perhaps if Marshall wasn't so dense, he might have noticed that she was just being annoyed by a bug. But sadly, Marshall was indeed that dense. Espically when it came to pretty girls. So what was simply her trying to get rid of a bug was mistaken for her trying to get out of his grasps.

"I-I'm sorry!" he said, letting go, taking a step back away from her. Mind you, with Marshall's luck and grace, it was to be expected for him to accidentally step on his flash-light, trip, and comically land butt-first in the sand.

Before she knew what had happened, the embrace was gone and she was left standing alone. The bug was still buzzing, so she could not hear what he had said. Flying sand flew into the air from when Marshall landed, obscuring her vision.

"Marshall?" She tentatively asked. Iona thought she must have done something offensive to make him step away from her. She turned her back toward him and started to walk away. Maybe he was upset with her and wanted to be left alone. She was never good at understanding what people wanted.

A strange wave of confusion came over Marshall. A minute ago he was holding a lovely young woman, enjoying the rather intimate moment, and now she was walking away as he sat akwardly in the sand. How did this happen!? Oh, yeah, it happened because of Marshall being denser that a bush.

"I-Iona..." he said, geting to his feet, noticing that his previously only stained vest was now covered in sand, the moisture from the coffee only acting as a sort of glue. Hastily, he unzipped it and threw it behind him, walking after Iona.

"...Iona...Wait!" he called after her, "I-I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable and I know that I shouldn't have hugged you or any thing and I was really out of line and..." he rambled on, beet-red.

Well this is charming...Half-naked, rambling, and blushing. Yeah, I sure am a stud... Marshall's subconscious grumbled out of embarassment.
