I didn't see another thread like this, but sorry if there is one and I just overlooked it....
This is an Elven guild, so I'm just wondering what inspired everyone to be so fond of elves.^_^
For me, it was when I saw the movie "The Hobbit" at the age of 4 or 5. I loved the part with Elrond and when Bilbo and the dwarves get captured by the elves. Shortly after, I saw the animated Lord of the Rings movie. I don't remember anything from that except Galadriel.
Once I got a little older (around 11) I started to read Tolkien's books and became even more fascinated by elves. heart
There are elves from other stories that I like too, but Tolkien's elves are my favorite.

You know, I'm not sure. ^^; A big inspiration was definitely LotR, but I didn't see it until the first movie came out, and hadn't read any of the books before that.
Fantasy novels are my favorite, and the Elves are always portrayed as such beautiful, wise, elegant creatures. Which is rare in this type of society where beauty tends to be found in very shallow, dull people.
I've also always had a love of immortal beings (like vampyres), which would have something to do with it I'm sure.

For me, it was an old Sega Saturn game, Dragon Force. Teiris, elven queen of the palemoon kingdom, even though she was physically weak her magic rocked and she was flat out gorgeous.
Go blue haired elves with floating capes and orbs around their heads! xd

Minus the pointed ears and the no facial hair thing, I match them phisically. Tall, lean, stronger than I look, almost never sick, maybe not as gracful, can walk silently, great hearing and sight...
Ya, well that and the fact the I am inteligent and usually wiser than my peers, I find I am quite similar to the normal description.
I'm not bragging. It's just what caught my interest so much that I have elven characters. Personally, I'd say that I'm more like a half-elf than a full blood elf. sweatdrop You asked.

The Lord of the Rings books was one inspiration. And artwork I saw of Elves in some books was another. How they live in the forest and such. ^_^;

I'm not quite sure... I've always loved fantasy figures. Mermaids, Fairies, Sintaurs (sp), you know that stuff. (When I was little I would watch fantasia over and over and over an-...) So I guess elves fit in. I like their graceful manner in LOTR and their pointy ears 4laugh They live the way I wish mankind would. I guess it's cause I'm part Irish and part Native American. (both races combined make an elvish sort of person don't they)
