Trotting along easily was the couple of Damu and Taima. Since they had been healed by that shaman, Sol-Lun, they had had a chance to actually enjoy life with one another, instead of constantly trying to stay out of harm's way. Now, it didn't much matter. All signs of any wound at all vanished, and it was like the battled never happened... well, except for the memory of course. But Tai chose to ignore it.
Instead she took in a deep breath, smelling all there was to smell and just all around enjoying the lovely afternoon. The sun was out and warm enough to make it not chilly. This was a good sign. Spring was on the way!
Stopping momentarily to look back at her mate, the female smiled. She was glad that they had met that one day in the snow. It seemed that they were absolutely perfect for each other in every way. They understood one another, both shared a deep passion... it seemed to be unbreakable, and she truly hoped it would stay that way.
"Doing well, love?" she asked, taking a few steps back so that she could nuzzle him. But then her stomach rumbled, alerting her to her ever-growing hunger. It seemed to never be satisfied.
Yet she didn't really feel like hunting, so Taima merely sat down and looked fondly at her mate. So handsome he was...

A light, chilling breeze ruffled his jagged black fur as his paws kept up a slow gait aside his mate. No pain emitted from his body, nor did he sense any. The wonderous works of Sol-Lun had made evidence of their recent encounter with Damu's own kin invisible. Physical scars had miraculously dissapated but the horrid memories still rested at the back of his mind, just like a recirculating nightmare.
He shook his head as if he was chasing away an invisble fly from his ears. Such recollections were better left alone...they grew heavy upon his heart and toiled with his emotions.
His black ears perked upwards, realizing that he had drifted into his own realm of thoughts. It happened often but, thankfully, his mate knew that he often persued in the depths of thoughts during many occassions.
A warm smile crossed his maw as he chuckled softly, feeling her warmth against his white and black swirled fur.
"Yes," he replied only to catch sound of his mates rousing hunger, its solacing moan for something to sustain its cravings. He couldn't help but let his small smile spread wide across his maw in a willy grin. "And it seems that you're seeking food, no?"
Padding slowly towards her as a pleasing rumble emitted from his chest, Damu delicately touched his wet, jet black nose to Tai's and planted a tender kiss upon her maw. She was his! Such a prize she was; beautiful and sensational.
For now, they were nomads; free to roam wherever they wished with no repremanding nor limitation to where they could journey towards. Both lost souls had found each other and entwined as one, forever as mates and companions. He was a protector, a wary watchmen while she, Tai, was compassionate and a care giver. Two lives, two souls but one heart embedded within the foundation of passion.
Emerald orbs scanned round about curiously as to decifer exactly where they were. His feathered black ringed tail swayed behind him in a nonchalant manner, brushing within the open air and waving in a rather content motion.
From what he could tell, there was no danger and for now they could rest at ease.
But what was there to do?
"If you're hungry I can find something or perhaps there is something else you'd like to do?"

Tai allowed the wind to caress her fur for a few moments, remembering the exhilerating feeling that she had felt when that shaman Sol-Lun had healed her and her mate. It seemed that the wind was always around that wonderful wolf, and she couldn't help but wonder if somehow the two were connected to one another, wind and wolf together as one like she and her black and white mate. Seemed reasonable enough. If he could heal such deep wounds and rid bodies of terrible scars, then anything else was possible, she was sure.
Laughing slightly, the female then sat down, coming out of her thoughts as her mate responded to her words and to her stomach. "Eh, I'm alright right now actually. I think it's just protesting because it's used to me being a fatty and feeding it little snacks." She grinned as her stomach rumbled in agreement.
Smiling as Damu planted a delicate kiss on her snout, Tai grumbled happily and pressed herself against him. She still couldn't bring herself to truly believe that this was reality. They had truly found each other and fallen into deep passion amongst all of the odds and hatred that had been pointed at the two. They were both outcasts, though together that mattered not. They were each other's, one in the same when it came straight down to it, and that would never fail to stand correct.
Stretching out lazily then, she grinned once more then shook out her neck fur before blinking at him. "Well, if you are going to hunt, I could help out." She didn't know how much she would really help, though. Rabbits and mice were all she could really catch.
"But as I said before, I'm quite fine at the moment." A growl from her stomach voiced its anger. Ignoring the demands of her belly, Taima stretched once more.
"We could run around a little? I think my legs are stiffening up... though I'm not quite sure why." A slight frown overcame her pretty features. Why would her legs grow stiff? They had been walking for at least an hour now...
"But whatever you want to do, love, I'm up for."

He rolled his eyes, a slight huff of his chest as he shook his head. "You? A fatty? No..." Damu couldn't see it, nor could he believe it. In his eyes, Tai was lithe and sleek whose coat was graced by black and a moss green. He always fancied pelts that were different, those that had a sense of uniqueness to them and Tai's was a favorite of his.
Chuckling to himself, he welcomed her body against his as he snaked his head to lean against hers. The strange feeling that he was living a dream still lingered but the emotions and sensations that both of them held was just as tangible as the earth that clung underneath his paws. Love was such a mystifying thing but, at last, he was tasting of its sweet nectar. Never again would he have to seek for such a tantilizing sensation as he had found it.
Truth be told, his hunger had dissapated since So-Lun's healing encounter. He had forgotten about pain and his body had, temporarily, forgotten what its needs were. Damu smiled as he sunk down to his stomach, flopping onto his side and looking up towards his mate.
"Let's run. We can get your legs loose and maybe find something along the way." Rolling on his back and stretching in rather odd fashions, the young adult grinned. "What do you say? A race?"
A slight puppy nature bubbled forth as he looked up to Taima. Yes, a race! How he had missed such fun activities...he never did endeavor in fun when he was young but, perhaps, he could rekindle such experiences with Tai.
If anyone could teach him how to have fun it would be Tai whether by coaxing or by any means necessary.

Taima narrowed her eyes playfully, looking down at him and pawing slightly at his handsome face. "Yes, fatty! Look at me! Not once graced by puppies yet I look like I'm carrying twenty!" The female grinned, not even realizing that her mind and body were tugging at her in a particular way. To her, it was just the nagging feeling she got whenever she wanted to get up and move around a lot.
Snorting slightly but still smiling, she craned her neck down to nuzzle and n** at his ears. It was always so fun to mess around with him a little and nibble on his ears when she got the chance. It was merely her puppy-ish nature showing through like it often did.
"A race?" she echoed, her tail wagging with the thought of the wind rushing through her fur and her paws simply flying over the earth. If there was anything she loved almost as much as the male, it was running. So energetic and delightful!
"Hm.. I could do a race. But do you think you can hold back on the tears when I beat you?" the female teased, bouncing to her paws and trotting off a few feet. Her tail wagged behind her challengingly, as if it itself would race the black and white wolf.
"If you can handle it, let's go, big boy." A grin took over her face as she looked back at him, eyes narrowed playfully.

Damu furrowed his brows as the still questioning facial expression seemed to differenciate from the views of her mate. "Right...so if you look like your pregnant than who knows what I look like! I'm so bulky and my fur is so- so jagged. I must look chunky," he mused, feeling her n** and nibble on his ears. Such sensations and small acts of a bubbling puppy nature were most welcomed by the white and black swirled male. Damu was a sucker for such a personality, he couldn't help himself.
His black ears perked upwards, alarmed slightly that his idea was embraced so suddenly with a surge for the yearning of adrenaline and exhileration. Stumbling up on his feet and shaking his fur free from the collection of dirt and grit, he unveiled a toothy grin.
"The only tears that will be shed will be me laughing when I see your face once I beat you," he replied with the same teasing innitiative as he bent low, balancing upon his paws as his displayed a sly, devious look.
Padding a few steps ahead of her, the white and black swirled wolf huffed as his feathered tail swept upwards in anticipation. Just as his maw was slowly to open, Damu suddenly lunged ahead and began furiously and wildly running upon a slightly trodded path. His paws began to sweep across the forest floor with ease, gaining speed and an agility that was increasing yet conserving for when the time would call for a boost to kill of a tie.
The wind against his jagged back fur was invigorating! He couldn't, no- he wouldn't let himself lose! Tai would never let him live it down.
Peering back, Damu's emerald orbs trailed back towards her. "What are you waiting for, Tai?" Quickly diverting his vision from her, he focused back towards the path ahead and began weaving in and out of the gnarly trees.
Certainly this race would be quite intresting.

"Well, you always look chunky," the female joked, smiling wide to show this. Yet despite how 'fat' he was or however 'chunky', she would always love him. He was the perfect wolf, in her opinion, and that would never faulter. No matter what, through thick and thin, she would stick by him forever. Damu was hers, her his. It was an amazing concept, really.
But then her mood suddenly changed as her mate teased her in return.
"Psh, you can dream!" she growled playfully at him, bowing down her upper torso slightly so that her rump could wiggle a little in the air. Yet then Damu took off, taking an unfair head start!!
Growling slightly, she didn't hesitate to scramble to her paws and begin tearing at the ground to gain more speed. The black and white male was once out of sight, but now she was gaining view of him again, and this new event only added to her determination.
"Coming up behind you, better watch out!" Taima called ahead to him. She would catch him, she would catch him..
Yet suddenly something came between her and her precious mate: a herd of wild deer. It seemed that something had riled them up a while back, and they were still stampeding and thinking that their danger wasn't yet past. Angrily, but knowing she shouldn't bother them, Tai sat back far enough to where any of them wouldn't be able to get at her. When they were gone, she huffed in annoyance. Darn grass-eaters.
"Damu!" she barked, wondering if he had noticed that their race had been rudely cut off.

Black ringed paws soared upon the leaf encrusted forest, kicking up a spell of dust clouds and frightening every small creature that came in sight of the white and black swirled wolf. To those who were estranged and unfamiliar to such a creature, he would be deemed a monster and a savage but, truth be told, he had softened heart and a passion for the one she-wolf called Tai.
The recirculating thoughts of her last commented made him grin and roll his eyes. I'm not that chunky...am I? Taking in account that his massive size was due in part to his mountainous heritage, the white and black swirled wolf was, to say the least, burly. Yet reguardless of his size, Tai loved him and he too mirrored the same passion towards her.
Coming upon a fallen tree, Damu suddenly leapt over its base and staggered to get his bearings as he continued to stay in the lead. But it was those continuing steps that seemed to trigger mass chaos.
Grazing deers that had been casually dining on a mid-afternoon snack had found the white and black swirled wolf as a dire threat to their existence and to the life of several young fawns. He had invaded their territory and,in order for their survival to be secured, they had to flee for fear of other wolves lurking about.
As the congregated deer began to stampeed, Damu legs suddenly felt weighed down with invisible lead that was forged by fear. He couldn't move. It wasn't until that the first deer became several feet away did he lunged fastidiously, hastening his body to conjure up every ounce of energy to beat yet another competitor; the deer.
The continious beat of hooves upon the ground almost masked the call of his mate but, still, he could barely make out her call. Tai wasn't too far away...he had to get to her! He had to make sure she was alright! But, for the moment, he still had one very large problem on his hands.
One step at a time, he repremanded his thoughts as he dove towards the right, avoiding a stumbling deer whose frantic need for safety seemed to drive it to topple within the crowd.
This was not good...
"Tai!" He yelled, replying to her call with a short answer as he dodged the gnarly trees and frightened deer. "Where are you?"

The she-wolf growled to herself. She had at first believed that the grass-eaters had finished in their stomping, but it seemed like they were competely senseless creatures in the way that they circled back and ran straight past her again. Leaderless creatures they were, and it seemed they never really had enough sense to even save their own hide.
Frowning slightly, she waited for the second stampede to be over. When it ended, black ears perked forward as she heard someone calling her. It sounded like Damu, but then it was slightly far away and so she couldn't quite tell.
"Damu?" she barked, slightly howling to make sure that the call would gather some distance and hopefully reach her mate. She wanted to make sure he was alright and uninjured, and he probably wanted to check up on her.
Whining slightly to herself, Tai tucked her tail in and began to trod carefully against the beaten down grasses. Hopefully the herd wouldn't...
Suddenly it circled back around again. Luckily, however, she had enough sense and quick enough reflexes that she was able to dart fleetingly out of the beasts' path and into the safe brush on the other side. Once things had settled a little bit, the female sighed heavily and shook. That had been terribly frightening.
"Damu?" she called again, trying to forget about the horror of seeing those mindless giants storming towards her.

After diving from the swarming stampeed of terrified deer, Damu had managed to confine himself within a leafy, mangled thicket as the last of the horrid grass-eaters fled from the scene. The white and black swirled male sighed in relief that the chaos had passed and that no injuries had been dealt to him. Only a few minor scratches were left in result and, truthfully, he was lucky.
Peering out from the brush as his jet-black ears flickered, Damu stumbled forth from his temporary shelter as his mates call sounded once again. "Tai?" He yelped, emerald orbs drifting across the sparse woods as they managed to catch sight of his mate.
A relieved smile drew upon his maw as his black ringed tail swayed in an estatic motion. She wasn't hurt! Tai was okay!
Oh, to think of what would of become if she was hurt. He could never bear to see her injured and ,after witnessing the attack that Jaxom laid seige to her, he could never stand to witness the one he loved be in pain...it tore his heart apart.
Rushing towards her side, the white and black swirled male lathered her with tender kisses and nuzzled into her while a pleased rumble emitted from his chest.
"I was so worried! I-I thought something happened to you!" He commented as he paralleled his gaze with that of his mate. "You're alright, right?" A slightly quizzical expression slid across his facial expression. He was worried...
He couldn't help it.
Damu's revival of a caring nature seemed to be taking hold of him in a very, very affectionate manner. But he loved her...and it was a new experience to be displaying such emotion towards one whom he cared so much for.

Taima blinked, turning her head to watch the last of the deer speed away. How strange they were behaving. Nothing was chasing them, so why were they bolting like their lives depended on it? Maybe something had spooked them... they seemed pretty easily scared. Even the calm she merely sitting there seemed to stir up some fear.
Shrugging to herself, she was simply glad that nothing had happened to her. But what of her mate? Suddenly the female shot her head around in all directions, attempting to locate the one she loved so dearly.
But then it seemed that she needed to look no further, for suddenly Damu came rushing up to her, seemingly quite relieved and smothering her in kisses to show it. Chuckling slightly, Tai pawed at his face playfully and nipped at his ears. Despite the fright the deer had given her, she seemed quite alright.
"I'm fine, I'm fine!" she growled at him, jumping forward and attempting to tackle him to the ground in a sort of play-fight.
Still laughing, the wolfess rolled over onto her side, looking up at the black and white male adoringly. "You are okay, too, right?" Black tipped tail wagged back and forth rapidly. She was sure he was okay, but she was merely checking to make sure.

The weight of worried frustration and hectic panic had dissapated from atop his shoulders, leaving him relieved and at peace knowing that she was well...they both were left unharmed. How strange was such an occurance to have erupted? Very. Whatever had stirred the deer and riled their comfort had certainly been a burden. Deer were nothing but simple minded prey that were good for filling ones empty belly.
A smile broadened across his face as Tai pawed at his face while her teeth gently nipped and gnawed upon his black ears. It wasn't until the female leapt at him that he seemed to lose his balance and join in the laugher. Damu tumbled onto his back as he peered up towards his mate, a humurous grin in a willy display mirroring her playfulness.
"I'm okay. A bit scratched up but I'll live," he nodded as he flopped onto his side. Lifting his head upwards, he tenderly tapped his muzzle against hers. "Those grass-eaters seemed to be running for their lives! What do you think scared them?"
Such a thought still mused about in his mind, wondering-no, questioning what could have intimidated those stubborn grass-eaters. Something big or, perhaps, something strange and foreign.
Licking at her muzzle once again, Damu stumbled to all fours. Rising upwards from the rocky earth underneath, he shook his fur free of the collected dirt, leaves and other vegetation that was meshed into his white and black swirled fur.
Well at least the danger had past, right?
But, lately, it seems that danger seemed to be attracted to him. Perhaps danger and mischief seemed to go hand in hand? No, he thought as he looked aside towards the trampled trail left by the frantic deer, that's just not it.
"It was just so sudden...and chaotic..." he softly remarked, partly to himself but just audible enough for those around him to partake of.

Taima's tail wagged behind her furiously as she wriggled on the ground on her back, attempting to get at an itch that had been bothering her for a while now. Once it had faded, bright eyes glanced up at her mate as he lay beside her.
"Scratched up?" she echoed, looking over his pelt momentarily to see if she could spot any of said scratches. Finding none, she first thought him to have had a slip in the mind. But then she probably figured that they were just so minute and small that Tai couldn't see them, but he could feel them. Shrugging it off randomly, she rolled onto her stomach and presently shook her neck fur.
"Yeah, they did seem to be bolting pretty fast," she agreed, turning her head to glance around the area. Brain moving quickly now, she at first assumed that some either powerful or big creature was in the area. Bear, perhaps? They seemed to like to rouse up the larger game and chase them around for fun. But there was neither scent nor sight of a bear or any tracks. So what had stirred the herd?
"I honestly don't know," she finally replied, letting her gaze fall back onto him. "Maybe something had begun to chase them, but then randomly stopped? And then the herd just continued on to be safe?" Sounded reasonable to her, but then she for some reason thought that this wasn't the case.
Suddenly her eyes clouded and she fell into a deep thought. Something had arouse them, but what? No scent, no tracks... how mysterious.
Finally the femme just shrugged that off as well, and merely crawled closer to her mate. "Well, it's over now, right?" Her tail wagged as a warm smile crept upon her features.
"Hm... what now, lover boy?" she grinned, pawing at his face slightly.

The white and black swirled wolf furrowed his brows slightly in thought. Whatever it was, the creature had to be massive and, hopefully, he wouldn't have the blessed opportunity to strike up a rendevouze with such a creature. Perhaps it was only a beast forged by ones very imagination...a scare tactic that could engulfs ones very concious thought and engulf the instinct of logic and reality only to transform it into a living nightmare.
No, he thought as his black ears fell down upon his skull, it couldn't be.
A relaxed, warm smile graced his maw as Tai crept closer to him, her soothing voice calming the stirring fears that knotted his stomach. "Yes, for now," he replied as he glimpsed towards her. His emerald eyes held little light; an uncertain sensation still running about within his wolfish veins. Fear? Perhaps. But it was moreso a feeling that if the foreign creature was to appear, how would he react? Would he fight? Most likely. He would fight, he must if such circumstances prevailed, for his own life and Tai's but the horrid recollections from the brawl with his brother still made such a reality tangible.
What if it was Jaxom prowling about?
What if he had come to seek revenge against he and Tai?
If he comes for blood, then he will be fortunate to still flee with his very life, he snarled in thought. Yes, it would be a bloodbath once again! But the intimidator had yet to unveil itself from the shadows...and - no.
He was talking himself into insanity; into letting fear consume his heart and engulf his own reason. Damu wouldn't-no, he couldn't let his mind become withered by such thoughts of revenge, bloodshed and chaos. The old wolf of his past had no place within his heart..he had been revived into a new being and had found love.
Damu sighed as he let such tumultious thoughts disperse from his thoughts and draw his attention upon the sole importance; Taima.
Grinning as she pawed at his face, the white and black wolf chuckled. " Anything. Just name it," he commented as he tenderly tugged and nipped at her black ears. "I'm up for anything."

The same darkening thoughts had loomed over the female's mind as well, though she had paid a bit less attention to them. Jaxom couldn't have come back again, could he have? Certainly not, after all that he had been through and after being shunned that way by his own brother. Surely he would have gone off into the woods to lick his wounds as all injured wolves do, though she guessed that the tawny and carrot-colored male had more emotional wounds than external. Damu had certainly seemed to hold back on his kin at that time.
Not wanting to dwell on these thoughts, however, Tai simply shook her head and neck fur then blinked down at her mate. He was just so handsome and lovely, she couldn't help but forget all of her worries in that one moment and just want to cuddle up with him for a minute or two.
And so she did. Randomly she rolled over onto her side and nuzzled herself up against him, laying on her belly and making it so their side furs touched.
Smiling to him, she simply lay there for a minute's time. When an hour had seemed to pass, though indeed it had only been a minute or so, the oddly colored femme licked at her mate's muzzle. There was nothing to worry about now, and so she resolved not to do so. If there was no need, then why do it?
"Well, I don't mind so much either," she finally spoke, blinking at him with a silly grin on her face. Really, she was up for anything.
