Xing Cai looked around quietly, her shield and fork down beside her. Xia Pi was underneath attack, and here she was, unable to do anything. What kind of force was attacking them? Their weapons were just so strange. Cai's eyes floated down to her sheild, staying still for a moment before she brought her hand up and rested it against the blue stone that sat there on the surface. Then she trailed her fingers across the surface, her eyes slowly following. The shield had marks on it from previous battles, but not as many as there should be. Her hand stopped once it was back where it had begun, her thumb rubbing against the stone again.
Hopefully things would clear up between her uncle, father, and Jian Yong. There needed to be some kind of a decision, and Cai wished that she could help, but it wasn't her place. For now she would just have to stay here and wait until her uncle Bei or father told her to do something.
But just sitting here seemed so... wasteful. Xing Cai grabbed her shield and pulled her arm through the bars, then wrapped her hand around her fork. Now she stood up and began doing some training, performing a simple "dance," if you could it that, while she waited.

The man walked into the city and headed straight for the Town Hall so he could register for Shu's army, with any luck he could command the Navy and some ground units. He pushed the giant doors open and walked right into the building. He saw a strange sight when he walked into the Main Hall, he witnessed a pretty young lady sortof dancing around with her weapon.
He aprroached her and uttered some friendly words, "Nice to meet a fellow general," he stuck out his hand, "My name is Gan Ning, and yours is?" while Ning waited for her answer he couldn't help but check her out a bit.

((We all lurve Gan Ning. XD))
Cai stopped what she was doing, turning his head and looking up at a man who'd just come inside. She watched his eyes flicker down and just ignored it herself. Hearing his name she blinked, then she noticed the bells that he wore around his waist. She looked back up at his face, then released her grip on her shield and let it slide further down her arm. Once it was far enough she took his hand, shaking it.
"My name is Xing Cai, Gan Ning." Cai replied with a small nod as she gave him a curt bow.

"Hello Xing Cai, I will cut to the chase. I'm here to take you captive, and violate you in many, many ways...." Gan Ning cracked a big smile. "Just kidding Xing Cai, I'm here to join the fine force you call Shu, I have heard of Liu Bei's immense virtue, and my old friends, Zhang Fei and Guan Yu reside in this force as well. Are you a member of Shu as well?"

"Yes...." Cai answered slowly, finding his sense humor a little strange. She briefly wondered what her father would have done had he been there, but her thoughts didn't linger there for very long. She spoke again, though this time she didn't answer as slowly as before. "Yes, I am a loyal member of Shu. My father is Zhang Fei and Lord Liu Bei and Guan Yu are my uncles. I'm afraid to say that Guan Yu is in Xia Pi, but my uncle and father are talking with each other along with Jian Yong and I'm not sure when they'll be finished...."
Cai now pulled her hand back from his, not really taking notice that her hand had still been there. Her arm fell back at her side while letting her shield slide back down her arm and grabbing the hand again. Her uncle and father were old friends with this man? So far he definately seemed like someone her father would know.
"Have you traveled far?" Xing Cai asked as she set the butt of her fork on the ground so it wouldn't be pointing at Gan Ning. "I could probably get you something to eat, if you're an old friend of my father and uncle."

"Wow, daughter of my pla Zhang Fei, very nice to meet you, and I haven't been treating you with the respect you so grandly deserve. Ah, good ol' pal Fei is near, can't wait to see him again." Gan Ning also returned his hand stretched out to beside him.
He rubbed that hand on the back of his head, smiled, and shut his eyes all at the same time. "Traveled far you say? You could say so, but around 200 miles is no problem for someone of my speed. I'm a castoff from Liu Biao's forces, he mistreated me and misused me many times. I have journeyed here to rejoin my old pals, and to fight for a force that could utilize me."
"Sure, I will take any food you wan't to give me, at your own descretion." Gan Ning waited for her answer, focusing more on her than before.

Cai nodded, and gave Gan Ning a friendly smile. "You can just wait here, I'll come back with some rice." She felt like she should give him something more, but, she wanted to wait until she was certain that this person was who he claimed to be before fully welcoming him. There were several people in the hall, so if there was any commotion she would be able to hear it and come strait back. She turned around, disappearing for a few minutes before coming back with a bowl of rice, just like she'd promised. Her shield was now strapped to her back, while her fork was still in her hand. She held the bowl out to him, a few people passing by and taking a glance at the newcomer.
'It is good that we're getting someone here to help us.' Cai thought softly to herself, hoping that this Gan Ning was really here to help and not just jerking her leg. 'I want to know exactly who he is.... He's so funny to me....'

"Okay then, I will be right here waiting." Gan Ning waited until she turned her back, and then he blew her a kiss. He noticed a couple people around here, but he thought to just stay out of their business. He sheathed his sword quickly as to not attract stares, and started practicing his back flips. He did a quick two in a row, and people started looking at him, he waved to the ones watching.

Cai stopped where she was, watching Gan Ning perform his little tricks. She couldn't help but smile, chuckling to herself as she shook her head. She took a few steps forward then leaned against the wall, still watching as he began waving to the people who were watching him. He seemed too free to be someone who would try and trick Shu, but never read a book by its cover, as it was always said. Well, nevertheless, Cai could tell that she was going to easily to enjoy being near him. Though she would have to watch out, he seemed like a big flirt.
"Impressive, Gan Ning." Cai finally remarked as she pushed herself off of the wall she was against.

Gan Ning saw Cai out of the side of his eyes, "Thank you alot, I've been praciting recently, maybe to be used in battle, for Shu of course." Ning took the bowl out of her hands and chowed it down in about thirty seconds, Dragonball Z style.
"Thanks a lot Cai, I'm going to enjoy fighting with you and your legendary father in battle." Ning nodded and still couldn't stop looking at her, what had come over him. Women were mostly just lovely to him, but this one was different, special even.

Cai blinked, watching Ning literally devour the rice, looking almost exactly like her father or maybe even Ping. Only faster, if that were even possible. She wasn't really having a difficult time picturing her father being around someone like this. One thing that she wasn't too sure that she liked was the fact that Gan Ning kept on looking at her. He didn't even seem to try and hide that he was looking at her. Well, there wasn't really much that she could do except for look back at him. Eventually she looked away and down to where her uncle and father were, still getting the feeling that Gan Ning was watching her.
"So, you were with Liu Biao?" Cai asked as she grabbed her fork with her other hand, so now she held it with her hands. Now the fork was laid out over her thighs horizontally, the tip of it facing the direction she was facing herself. She looked back over at Ning, a curious look on her face. "How is he? I hope that he's alright...." Even if Liu Biao wasn't exactly the sharpest knife, she still wanted to know how he was, since he was kin. "I hope that he'll be able to hold himself up well enough."

" Yes, I was with the forces of Liu Biao, kind man, but one of his generals wasn't all too smart at all, main reason I left. I really wish him the best, and he must be Liu Bei's cousin, correct? He was fine when I left, everything was peaceful in his force, and the people were happy. I guess virtue runs in the Liu bloodline, nice trait to have in the family." Gan Ning nodded, and handed her the bowl.
"Thank for the rice, your a really nice person to just let a stranger in your midst when he may carry an entire force with him." he turned back and yelled. "That's the cue guys....kidding again, I like pulling pranks on people a lot as you can tell." Ning smiled, he liked being around this lady very much, she was very nice to him and a kindred soul.

Cai took the bowl, chuckling and shaking her head at his joke. "You're welcome, Ning." She was already calling him Ning instead of Gan Ning. How could she not? He was easily someone you could like. "It's easy to believe that my father would know you, and my uncle."
Cai heard a few urgent whispers, making her turn her head. There were a few soldiers talking to each other, obviously trying to keep their voices down but not being that successful. Her smile disappeared, her eye brows together as she wondered what exactly it could be that they were talking about. It was probably about Xia Pi, what else could be the answer? Should she go over and try to see what was going on?
No, she should just wait and be patient. Cai moved her head, looking back at Gan Ning and smiling again. "It seems like the soldiers are a bit restless. It's good to see that you have high spirits." Of course Ning probably didn't know about the attack on Xia Pi, so maybe it was pointless to say that. "A good sense of humor is always something that people love. I think that you'll fit into Shu just right."

"Thanks, yeah I met them before the war when the Han was just about to end. Zhang Fei's my drinking buddy, and Guan Yu's my thrustworthy friend. Not even battle can come between our friendship, and now it definitely won't seeing as we're now on the same force." Gan Ning recounted memories of old times, when him and his friends were but teens fighting, having fun together, that can all come back with no war.
"High spirits, all the time. That's me the happy guy, always ready for battle at anytime, just need my sword and bells. I have a question though, why are the soldiers restless, this town seems like the epitome of peaceful. You think I'm funny too, I'm honored that you say such a thing, and I will fit into Shu just right, eh." Ning squinted into the distance and saw this hall was really long.
