 .:Covet:.
Covet bounded out of Veronica's front door and out into the sunlight. She had the rest of the day to herself to find amusement. She ran down the streets of Crescent City until she came to the park. With a joy filled giggle she took a flying leap and tucked herself into a front somersault, rolling several times in the warm grass. Dizzy, she flopped down on her back, stretching her wings out and resting her arms on top of her silky feathers. Giggling, she waited until the world stopped spinning around her.

[ Pheydre ] Waving to the shop keeper in the market she pointed her feet in the direction of some open place, not really sure where. Throwing one of the bright green apples into the air she caught it smoothly in her hand, the other one sat in the little cloth bag at her elbow along with two oranges. Smiling Brightly she did a light pirouette, her soft wings extended, coming to a stop she found her feet on soft grass on the edge of the park.
"Thank you." She said looking down at her feet, and then giggled. It was a grand day and it was perfect weather for a day in the park. Suddenly she pulled the bag to her chest and with one hand did a quick cartwheel. Her wings extended to balance her, she came lightly to her feet. Standing up once more, she was totally pleased with herself; it had been recently that she had been able to do a cartwheel with one hand.
Walking a bit further in, Pheydre caught sight of a shock of white in the green grass. Smiling brightly, she could figure only one small Shu with such a pretty hide with bright royal purple locks. Coming up beside Covet, Pheydre plopped down beside the dizzy little one she smiled down at her.
"Apple or orange?" She asked simply.

 .:Covet:.
Covet giggled louder as Phedre spun around over her. Her vision cleared and she sat up with a huge smile. "Orange please," she replied, shaking the grass out of her wings.
"Isn't it such a beautiful day?" she asked stretching her arms in the warm sunshine. "Would you like to play?"

 .:Covet:.
"Thank you," she said, taking the juicy orange from Pheydre's outstretched hand. Her attention was momentarily distracted from her offer to play, by Pheydre's bag of goodies. Covet leaned over to try to peek inside the bag containing the makings of masks to figure out what the contents were exactly. She pulled herself up onto her knees to get closer.
"What is that for?" she asked, pointing to the bag with one finger and nibbling on her orange.

 .:Covet:.
Covet turned her bright eyes up to look into Pheydre's. "For me?" she asked, putting a small hand to her chest. She had never gotten a gift before. "I inspired you?" she asked in wonder. Her small hand left her chest to reach out and gingerly stroke the teal feathers. The colors were the same as hers!
"It's so beautiful," she breathed, her eyes tracing the outline of feathers and beads. "But I don't have anything for you!" she exclaimed looking back up into Pheydre's eyes.

.:Covet:.
Lifting a small teal tipped finger, Covet traced the line of the mask against her cheek. The feathers tickled her skin and it made her giggle. She listened to Pheydre's warm words and gave her a bright smile. She lunged forward and threw her arms around Pheydre's neck, laughing happily.
"Thank you!" she exclaimed giving her a tight squeeze then sliding back to sit next to her new friend, her tail twitching happily in the grass. Using gentle fingers, she explored the way the mask felt across her face. She already knew exactly where she was going to put it in her room to keep it safe. Taking another bite of her orange, she remembered that she had asked Pheydre to play and that she had said she would.
"I know what we can play! Let's play hide and go seek," she grinned excitedly.
