Constructs
With every technological advance comes the risk of malfunction. Most machines that go haywire are immediately destroyed due to destructive nature. Or they just become scrap parts to make into new machines. Such is the problem with creating automated machines.
Though, in increasing numbers, experiments with magical technology have resulted in more and more haywire.
Most, as earlier mentioned, of these are destructive and are destroyed. But very few begin functioning at even higher capacity. Even fewer still, in fact limited almost entirely to rekceeya construct experiments, gain some degree of intelligence. This type of malfunction has been studied, and desperately attempted to be replicated. Success has been very limited, and even the intelligence levels have varied. Mass production is out of the question since only one out of hundreds built will be a true haywire construct. This at least makes the "race" of constructs varied, with members ranging from tiny spider like machines to eight foot humanoid destroyers.
Due to the nature of rekceeya, some constructs can take forms much like the natural golem. For example, a construct with a stone innate alignment could cover its rekceeya body with a layer of stone. These can make them dangerous opponents when combined with their natural machine abilities.
The unfortunate part for the empire: they are naturally passive. Most of the race choose to retire to "The Village of Constructs" to live a peaceful life. Here they try their best to emulate the human lifestyle they could never be a part of. They work, relax, and even form arbitrary family units. Anything that gives them some sort of purpose. Some are so tormented by the random chance of their creation that they push aside their passive nature to assist the empire. In rare cases, a construct becomes both destructive and intelligent. These are either destroyed, or drafted into use by the empire.
All and all, its a strange world for this relativly young race.
