Because, my friends and I all love her books...
Well, here's a topic for her, anyway.

She's an amazing writer, and I love Th Ciecle Opens quartet and the Protector of the Small quartet the best out of all of her works. However, I love all of the books she's written.

I got Will of the Empress for my birthday, but I haven't had the chance to read it yet. Too many others to read first.

I have to admit that I like the Tortall series the best. Protector of the Small was good but there was something missing which she managed to captivate me with in her Tortall series. Alanna is a brilliant character and the plot line is similar but at the same time different from a lot of other books and I like especially how Tamora Pierce is a big name in writing and her protagonists are strong females. Unlike Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Sword of Truth, where the male generally plays a lead role. (Yes, there are secondary female characters I will not deny this.)

I haven't read anything by her in a while, but I love her books. All of them are great, but I liked the Tortall ones the best (I can't choose a specific series though). I liked how the different cultures in her book are based off real life cultures and societies (ie. The country that Triss was in in her The Circle Opens book was based off India).

ADORE Tortall (especially Alanna the Lioness, that wass my favorite series for a while..GEORGE!) HATE Circle of Magic. Or maybe it was just because I was older when they came out.

*SPOILER WARNING***'WILL OF THE EMPRESS'*
Just a question. My sister got a little suspicious of this after reading 'Will of the Empress'. Did Briar suggest that Lark and Rosethorn are lesbian? If so, does that mean that dedicates are allowed to have affairs? But if they're completely dedicated to the gods, aren't they not allowed to marry? But then why would they be allowed to have affairs? Okay, maybe my mind is getting carried away. I had always thought they were just good friends. But it's kind of suspicious how Lark sometimes refers to Rosethorn as "Love". I believe she also called her "Rosey" once . . . PLEASE respond . . . I'm sooo confused right now! gonk

This confused me too, because they'd all hinted that they'd known about Lark and Rosethorn, and I'm thinking "Was there some subtext I didn't see here?" Daja also hinted that Rosethorn was bisexual.

Well, I think that seeing as Daja ends up being in love with another woman there could be a very good chance that Lark and Rosethorn like each other. But I don't think Pierce wanted to tell us directly, whether or not they do, so maybe we can't no for sure. They may just have nicknames for each other, though, from living together for so long...

I think that it makes sense. My favorite Tamora Pierce book is Terrier, the new one.
