I'm surprised so many people like her. Apparently people like her blind faithfulness to Takuto. I don't particulary care for girls with rabbit ears... but as I was drawing Meroko, I began to think that maybe this is okay as well.
In the beginning, Meroko looked like a bunny girl. (The reason I put bunny ears on her is so that you can tell which character is which just by llooking at their silhouette.) I also wanted them to look a little like stuffed toys. Meroko changes to a rabbit the way Takuto changes into a cat, and their is a reason why they so this. (I will explain this later in the Mange)
I'm not sure wether I should reveal this, but I recieved the request for drawing illustrations for the free stationary set that came with the magazine before I started working on the on the first episode storyboards. For the free gifts, its better to have non-human charaters as mascots, because they're sute. (I get more variations that way, too)Hehe.
(I could have used those charaters just for that letter sets, but a series of Ribon has a lot of furoku, and I though the readers would be more happy if the characters were thise that didn't appear in the manga.) But I...didn't want something that was too cute, so I made them a little uncool ->*takuto's head when in cat form and with sharp eyes
->*Meroko's head with sharp eyes saying "What"*
Now that they've become stuffed toy presents, and cell for straps, and are all over the place.
