"I think thats the last lil dust mite" Sirenz says smiling at her smokey gray cat, Cheese. The cat purrs and rubs against her leg as Sirenz opens up the screen door and hears the gentle crashings of the waves.
Picking up her paintbrush from the wicker table, Sirenz takes her place in from of the easel and begins to paint to earn her living. People from all over come to the New England town of Sapphire Bay to view Sirenz painting in her home gallery. Many times, they purchase the art that she worked really hard on. It feels like giving away a small part of herself after each one is sold.
A knock at the door interrupts Sirenz thoughts and she hurries to the door. A woman with horns on her head and a mischevious grin steps in Sirenz home. She is holding a tiny sugar cube in the palm of her hands.
"So this will attract a Sugar Fairy?" Sirenz says blinking as the mysterious woman nodded. It looked like an ordinary sugar cube that she added in her morning coffee each morning. Sirenz sniffed the sweet aroma. Why, it smelled exactly the same as the mewing apricat Sirenz had brought Ebony the day before.
"I can think of alot of places to put this cube so that it might attract a fairy" Sirenz said cradling the cube with care, "There is a trail to the rocky ocean cliffs behind my house that is lined with bristling evergreens. Late at night, while I painted on my porch I would hear tiny voices. eek When I told my boyfriend, he assured that I must of been hearing things due to it being so late. Perhaps I did hear them after all. I have honey suckles growing over my fence where the trail starts and I always noticed that several blooms were missing the very next day".
Sirenz takes the sugar cube over to a stone sundial near the honey suckle covered wall and places it. Hopefully a fairy will not be able to resist this magical treat when they snatch one of Sirenz honey suckles. smile
