Welcome to Lenta/Vetch's journal.

Please note that this is a private journal, and it should not be posted in unless there is a good reason to do so. Good reasons are listed below.

1. If you are another Velveteen owner, and we've decided beforehand to hold an RP in the journal thread.
2. If you are any Gaian delivering a gift.
3. If you are Iris or Naraka, because that means you're one of the two shop owners and you can do whatever you bloody want. xd

=================================

Llamas are one of four main species of New World camelids. The other three species are the alpaca, guanaco and vicuna. These species are thought to have originated from a common ancestor that came across the Bering Strait land bridge. Camelids are thought to be related to Bactrian and Dromedary camels of Asia. The high dependence of Incan Indians of South America on llamas and alpacas for food and fiber is analogous to the Plains Indians of North America and their relationship to the bison. Incas carried their relationship with llamas a step further through domestication and controlled breeding for beasts of burden. With the collapse of Incan culture, llamas were nearly pushed into extinction and only survived in the harsh upper regions of their natural territory. The last 25 years have seen a resurgence of interest in llamas, especially in the United States.

Llamas are first and foremost pets and companions. They are ideally suited to this task because of their predictable low-key temperament, intelligence and ease of maintenance. Wilderness packing is probably the second greatest demand for llamas. Llamas make ideal pack animals for the western mountainous regions of the United States because of their inherent thriftiness in this climate, their low-cost maintenance and their durability as pack animals. Wool may represent another use for llamas, although, with a large number of natural and synthetic substitutes for wool, it seems unlikely that llama herds will be maintained for wool production. In some instances, llamas have been used as a sheep guards against predators. The potential of this market has not yet been verified, but may hold some promise in the future.

Llamas are 40 to 50 inches high at the withers and 60 to 72 inches tall at the poll. They weigh 18 to 31 pounds at birth and should weigh 250 to 300 pounds at maturity. Female llamas reach mature size at 2 years of age and males mature at 3 years. The average life span for llamas is 20 to 25 years. Llamas have a long graceful neck and a relatively small head with large eyes and large curved ears. Llamas are covered with wool which may be 3 to 8 inches in length. Wool covers the neck, back and sides of the animal while the head, underside and legs are covered with short hair. A thick covering of wool enables llamas to withstand cold, wind, snow and rain. Short hair elsewhere on the body enables the llama to dissipate heat when placed in warmer environments. Unlike sheep wool, llama wool does not have the protection of lanolin to make it water resistant. Llamas have a tail that measures 12 inches in length at maturity. Llamas have characteristically high-cut flanks accented by a pendulous abdomen and a slightly forward-leaning carriage.

Llamas come in a range of colors and body shapes although these differences are just variations in type and not of breed. Llamas may be brown, red, black or white or a combination of these colors. Llamas can be short, broad and wooly or tall and large-framed with short wool. There is no specific nomenclature to refer to different classifications of llamas other than males, females and babies. Breeding males are sometimes referred to as studs and babies as crias (Spanish for baby). Neutered males are called geldings.

Llamas are generally healthy, thrifty animals. A llama requires 10 to 20 percent of the feed of a horse. Llamas are most often compared to horses because of physiological similarities. Llamas are quite efficient in using available forages. They can use a much lower grade forage than most ruminant species. They can maintain condition by foraging on low-quality range on about 5 percent of the area required by a horse. Llamas tend to be browsers, eating a small amount of forage intermittently. This feeding characteristic prevents them from being poisoned by ingesting toxic plants. Llamas' inherent hardiness helps them withstand extremes in feed quality and climate. The notable exception is extreme heat combined with high humidity. These types of conditions can adversely affect fertility and general health causing the animals to exhibit heat stress.

Llamas are markedly territorial. The animals originate from relatively low-productive, fragile environments where even small increases in animals above the carrying capacity can have grave consequences for the entire herd. This background probably explains male llamas' unrelenting aggression against invading males, excess breeding females and weanling-age young. Invasion of territory by another llama results in a series of posturing gestures. If the intrusion continues, the resident of the territory may spit at the intruder. Conflict is usually settled at this point between females; however, males often continue into physical contact by biting, kicking and ramming into each other. The fighting between males is a rather noisy affair of screaming and squealing, reminiscent of stud horses fighting.

Feeding options for llamas are virtually unlimited, providing for many possible combinations of roughages, concentrates and commercial supplements. The predominant factors which enter into the decision of what to feed include feed cost, availability of feed, nutrient balance and energy density required. Young llamas, which are still actively growing, require a greater concentration of nutrients than mature animals because of their relatively smaller digestive tract capacity. Table 1 provides estimates of daily consumption of bromegrass hay, alfalfa hay and corn silage needed for maintenance. Dietary requirements will be different based on animal performance desired, work performed and weather conditions. A 300-pound llama will need about four pounds of alfalfa hay (90 percent dry matter) per day to maintain condition.

Llamas adjust well to free-choice feeding or once-a-day feeding schedules. Most llama owners set up a feeding schedule based on owner convenience. Potential llama owners need to be aware that adult llamas on free-choice feeding (ad lib) may become fat, depending on the quality of feed being offered. Therefore, adult llamas may require limits of high-quality feed.

Information on llamas taken from various sources online.

Vetch's Room

Right now, Vetch shares a room with Lenta, and will probably do so until he gets to be a child. xd Lenta does this with most of her children; right now, there are two children (Eydie and Nohre) living in her room, along with Vetch.

Vetch is subject to ear-pulling and hoof-sucking at all times.

Vetch gets dressed up by Kailee more times than he (or Lenta) can count. Every time he does, Lenta takes a picture and sets it on the desk in her room.

Lenta

Lenta is painfully shy. She's always worried about how she's dressed, how she acts, and what other people think of her. Deep down, she just wants to be normal, but she's gotten used to the fact that she won't ever be. Lenta tries to put everyone before herself, and is very giving, even when she's got nothing to give. She loves kids, and feels comfortable around them, because she knows kids won't ever think badly of you and don't care how you act or talk.

Lenta's got several best friends; Moofuls (who she lives with), Rogue Roxness, Azurai and Dr. Jekyll. Those are the only four people she feels COMPLETELY comfortable with, because she's been around them long enough to know that they love her for who she is. With time, more will be added to this list... hopefully.

On February 27th, Lenta

Ever felt like you were in one of those sci-fi movie things, where you're always getting deja-vu and shooting giant aliens with bazookas and laughing maniacally as their blue-green guts coat everything in sight?

Yeah, you need to go get help.

..................hopefully that's just scared all of you journal stalkers away. But i'll prolly find a few psychiatrists on my doorstep in an hour or so.

Oh well.

I received my key a few days ago... Gawd, I can't even remember when it was, exactly. Maybe it was yesterday or something... Point is, i'm excited. Ever since Moo brought her key home, i've been like some sort of obsessed, fur-covered demon stalker. Acia's a child now, and a gorgeous little ball of fur, at that... I just couldn't take it anymore. I had to get a Velvet.

It's already been worth it.

All of my other children have approved of the key. Even Fenwrit, and he's usually the hardest to convince. I can't keep the key away from Eydie long enough to get it completely dry, but other than that, there's been no trouble with it. Mauli even went out and got me a BEAUTIFUL chain for it... She knows I won't be keeping it forever, but she says I should be comfortable wearing it until i've gotten my plush.

God, I love that girl. heart

Right now, i'm wearing the key, and i've got Nohre in my lap. He likes staring at the key, and I haven't bothered to wonder why. Kids like shiny things, right? Well, at least Eydie does. That's why she's always grabbing for it.

Earlier, Fenwrit carried the key around the grocery store. I couldn't have the key AND a child in each arm, so he wore the chain and key and showed it around the fruit section, along with his sprites. I pray they didn't introduce it to anything... odd...

Well, I know it wouldn't be horrible. Showing the key bad things, I mean. The key only decides what you get as a plushie, right? But it can't hurt to introduce it to the world around it, can it? I hope not. This is just one thing i'll have to take a plunge on.

On March 1st, Lenta

We had a sleepover yesterday!

Well, I mean, it wasn't MUCH of a sleepover... Mauli and Kailee pulled up a cot by my bed, and we brought Eydie and Siu in, and had a sleepover. The key was there, too! I'm not sure if the plushie'll be a girl or a boy, but if it IS a male, it'll just have to get used to the fact that most of it's siblings are girls.

I shouldn't say that... I mean, most of my kids are guys, and the plushie can do what it likes...

I'm rambling now, journal. I'm sorry.

Back to the sleepover! We stayed up all night, and just talked and read each other stories, and Kailee and I did Eydie's hair! She looked adorable~ heart

'Course, as soon as Siu got ahold of Eydie, all the little bows and rubber bands came out... But I don't think Eydie cared.

In fact, i'm pretty sure I saw her smiling...

I went out this morning and got a beautiful little mahogany box, from this man at the antiques store... I figure, once i've gotten my plushie, I can keep the chain Mauli gave me inside of it. Wouldn't that be lovely? 'Course, it'll hardly ever go in the box... I've hardly taken it off since she gave it to me. That might be because it's got the key on it, though.

Kailee wants to get her hair dyed. She wants it bright green, like Isto's hair. I don't know why she's so obsessed with him... Mayhaps because he's her first SM friend. But if she knew he was really her FATHER, there'd be trouble for sure...

I just hope she doesn't go get a mohawk... Mauli would pitch a fit. She's already complaining about Kailee wanting to dye her hair. What I don't get is why Mauli hasn't tried dying Kailee's hair already, although if Mauli got ahold of her, it certainly wouldn't be green. Kailee's got those green tips on her hair, and they're natural, because of Isto's hair color...

Lordie, i'm babbling again. This is supposed to be a Velveteen diary, not the journal of all of Lenta's children. I apologize.

Well, not much else happened today... Other than Nohre dropping the key in Arai's litterbox. Why he did it is beyond me... Mayhaps he thought it'd be safer covered in pony dung-bits. I cleaned it five times, with that tearless Johnson and Johnson stuff that Moo keeps in the cabinet, and then sprayed it down with perfume so it didn't smell like icky baby shampoo. It's sitting beside me now, wrapped up in a towel so it'll dry.

Whoops, Adem's calling... He says Jek is on the phone. Something about a play-date for Ekarei and Strapper (our Sea Monkeys... Not to be confused with the resident Skull Monkeys, Mauli and Kailee wink ) and their familiars... I'd better go answer. Later, journal!

On March 6th, Lenta
Wow... I haven't written anything in a while.

Well, I suppose because nothing much has happened. It's been a normal week, for the most part.

I visited the Velveteen shop yesterday... And I plan on going back today. I saw LP there, with her Velveteen, Willow... And a little faerie thing named Ophelia. Ophelia wanted to have a tea party, but there were no snacks. And then, Moo and Acia stopped by! Moo and LP talked a bit, and then Acia got into a fight with Ophelia while protecting Willow, and Ophelia called Acia a meanie, and Acia didn't like it. She got scared, because no one's called her a meanie in... forever. She's not mean. So, Acia apologized quickly, and ran off, and that's the last I saw of her.

I feel kinda guilty... I didn't even ask Moo if she had found Acia this morning. But, then again, I didn't see Moo this morning, so...

It's been a week! I think... Yeah! About a week. A week since I received my key, I mean. I'm so happy... I know, nothing's happened with it yet, but just knowing that something WILL happen soon has gotten me all jittery. redface I bet none of the owners would say that, huh?

I'm just different, that's all.

I had a nice dream last night... My key turned into a dragon, with a long neck and a huge tail and gigantic wings, and it flew me to a forest... And it felt so real. I don't think my key will be a dragon, though. I'm not a dragon type of person, (although, they're lovely creatures, don't get me wrong) and I think there's already a dragon Velvet anyways.

It's nice to wonder what i'll get... When I actually open the trunk, i'll be so hyped up about it, that... Well, I prolly won't be able to sleep that night. That's not such a bad thing, though, because then maybe Mauli and Kailee would bring Eydie back in, and we'd have another sleepover!

You wanna hear something funny, Journal? Mmmkay, get this. My brother, Lani, tried cleaning his sink with PUDDING the other day. Pudding, can you believe it? Of all the silly things..! He just grabbed a cloth, scooped out some pudding, and started rubbing it into the faucet! It didn't work too well... His rat, Lionel, ended up eating most of it. And now it's just an icky ivory-silver-blue mess.

The sink, I mean. Not the rat.

Lionel's a good rat... He's Lani's only pet. I couldn't imagine having only ONE pet... I had just one, once, back when I got Mauli... But they're so addicting! The only time you can have too MANY children is when you've completely filled your house with 'em, and have no more room...

Of course, I don't have to worry about that. xd The mansion is HUGE... I don't think we'll ever run out of room, even though both Moo and I are constantly bringing new children in.

Eh, i'm going to leave off here. It's time to head to the Velveteen shop.

Acia is still missing.

I'm starting to get scared... I heard Iris and Naraka talking earlier, and apparently whenever people walk back out of the front doors, they can be transported ANYWHERE. I guess i've been lucky to have been transported right back to the front doors each time... It would be horrible if I had been moved to some desert out the outskirts of Durem, or something...

How're we ever gonna find Acia?

On March 22nd, Lenta
Mood: Spacey
Song: Car Under Water, by Armor For Sleep

Er... I apologize for my last entry. I'm not insane, I swear.

The song i'm listening to, as i've stated above, is 'Car Under Water'. This song is... Amazing, to say the least. Well, most people would think i'm strange if they heard it, because it's about suicide... But it's got a much bigger meaning to me.

This guy in the song kills himself, because he's got a crappy life. His girlfriend just broke up with him, and he was in love with her. Part of the chorus is this...

"Thinking back, I forgot to tell you this
I didn't care that you left and abandoned me
What hurts more
Is I would still die for you"

That's the bigger meaning. Through all that pain, this guy is still willing to give his life for this girl that hates his guts. That's true love. Wanting to keep someone healthy and happy, no matter what happens.

That's the sort of love I want. And will probably never have.

But enough of my bitching, diary. Lemme give you the lowdown on what's been happening around the house.

Er.... nothing's been... happening... around the house.

Yay.

Uh... That's about it. For now.

When I wanted to RP, I
"He's pretty hawt." Mauli commented from the other side of the room, her fingers stuck inside Nohre's mouth. Nohre gurgled happily. Lenta laughed, holding her Velveteen plushie up to the light for inspection.

"I'm calling him Vetch. Does that sound alright?" The excited mother asked, stroking Vetch's head lightly. The llama plush didn't move.

"It suits him." Mauli nodded sagely, then tilted her head. "Er... Are we SURE it's a dude? After all, you named me after a dude, and i'm a girl..."

"That was different, hun. Your name works for both genders." Lenta pondered for a moment, then grinned widely. "You can sorta feel that it's a guy... It's this aura that surrounds him, y'know?"

Nohre giggled, biting down hard on Mauli's fingers. Mauli didn't budge; she'd felt worse when she was raising Kailee. Instead, she reached over with her free hand to wipe a bit of strained peas from the corner of Eydie's mouth. After dabbing her pea-stained hand on the towel around her neck, Mauli turned back to Lenta, nodding again.

"I... guess so... So, this Vetch is gonna be like Acia, right? Hopefully as sweet as her, anyways. 'D hate for him to turn out like Fen." She wrinkled her nose as Eydie spat up another mouthful of peas. Lenta laughed, setting Vetch down on the counter as she stepped over to help Mauli. While Lenta cleaned the peas from Eydie's little jumper-suit, Mauli went about removing her fingers from Nohre's mouth.

And behind them... Vetch began to glow. No one noticed it for a while; Lenta and Mauli were busy, and Eydie and Nohre were watching them. But when the glow began to form itself into a ball around Vetch, Eydie gurgled, making grabbing motions at it. Vetch floated a few feet into the air, and Lenta turned, groaned, and made a dive for the plush.

"Murky, NO! Put him down!"

That's when Nohre and Eydie decided to join the fun. Each of them scooped up a handful of peas, winked at each other, and started chunking the peas as far as they can at anything that looked like a good target. Mauli screeched, then ducked down, covering her head with her hands.

"WE'RE UNDER FIRE! MAN THE CANNONS! HOIST THE MAINSAIL! GET ME A BIB crying "

Lenta finally wrenched the Velveteen plush from the little ghost-ball's grip, just as a glob of peas slammed into the back of her head. Yelping, she placed a hand on the sticky substance, and nearly fainted when she felt that it was warm and globby.

"Brain... my.... EW, it smells like... DAMNIT, NOHRE! EYDIE! CUT IT O-" Lenta turned, and was cut off as a rather large amount of peas splattered onto her glasses. Wiping it off, she scowled, then tucked Vetch underneath her shirt and started making her way towards Nohre and Eydie. The two toddlers exchanged glances, then scooped up some more peas, only to be hauled roughly out of their highchairs by a rather tall, black-haired man.

"Hey." Fenwrit muttered, removing the peas from the two children's hands with a flick of his wrist. The blobs landed on Lenta's shirt, and she rolled her eyes, heaving a sigh. Fenwrit ignored her, then encased the infants in balls of black magic, stepping out of the kitchen while avoiding the spots of peas on the floor. "This calls for a very, very long timeout..."

Nohre and Eydie wailed at the word timeout. Mauli snorted, and Lenta stared down silently at her ruined shirt through pea-covered glasses. Mauli quickly took Lenta's glasses, and ran them under some hot water, as Lenta pulled Vetch out from under the thin black shirt. Dabbing at his sides with her fingers, she breathed a sigh of relief.

"He's clean."

"You're not." Mauli laughed, handing the clean glasses to her mother. Lenta slipped them on, then laughed as well, lifting one foot and wriggling her were-toes.

"I need a bath... And so does the kitchen. Gawd, Moo's gonna kill me." Scratching the back of her head, Lenta stepped over to the cabinet, pulling out a sponge and a roll of paper towels. "Well, first thing's first... Would you take Vetch up to Kailee, please? I'll clean up down here."

Mauli nodded, then scooped the plushie up, throwing her mother a quick salute before dashing out of the kitchen.

"Mmf... This will take a while." Lenta cast a sad look down at the floor, then kneeled, and began the disgusting job of wiping strained peas off the floor.

-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-

"So she wants me to watch the plushie thing...?" Kailee repeated, holding Vetch up for inspection. "Ew, he smells like peas."

"It'll wear off." Mauli replied, then shrugged. "He's special, Kailee. Like... Like Acia was. 'Cept you didn't see her when she was a baby. She was a plush, just like Vetch. Just treat him right, okay?"

"Sure, sure thing." Kailee nodded, then sniffed at the air. "Wait, maybe it's not him..."

Mauli shot a glance down at her pants, then sighed after spotting a small green stain on one knee. "It's me. I'll go change... Don't let Murky get ahold of him, 'tay? He tried it earlier." And with that, Mauli trapsed out of Kailee's room, leaving the bewildered teenager with the llama Velveteen.

"Wellll..... This won't be TOO hard..." Kailee murmured, placing Vetch on her desk. She tapped her chin, then tilted her head, grinning. "You're kinda bland, you know that?"

Vetch didn't respond.

"We can fix that." Kailee nodded, then stepped over to her jewelry box, and began digging through it. "Let's see what we've got here..."

-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-

"Done!" Lenta exclaimed, tossing the dirty sponge into the sink. She cackled, then bent over double, tugging the now-soaked shirt off her body and twirling it around her head. Luckily, she had an undershirt on underneath, so when Mauli walked into the kitchen to check on Lenta's progress, she wasn't emotionally scarred.

"Oooh, lordie, mom, put it back on!" Mauli joked, grinning. Lenta snorted at her, then tossed the shirt at her daughter's head, laughing again as Mauli ducked to avoid it.

"You know i'm hotttttt~" Lenta grinned, wagging her tush in Mauli's general direction. Mauli snorted, picking the shirt up from behind her and tossing it into the trash.

"I'll get you a new one later. For now, go put on a spare." She commanded, pointing out the kitchen door. Lenta whined, and opened her mouth to retort, but that's when Kailee entered. In her hands was Vetch... with clothing. Kailee had given up on the jewelry, and instead dug out some old doll clothing to dress Vetch in.

"Check out the Vetch-meister!" Kailee grinned, holding Vetch up so that her mother and grandmother could see.

User Image

"Awww, cute!!!" Lenta exclaimed, taking Vetch from Kailee and nuzzling his nose. "You did such a good job, Kailee!"

Kailee beamed, then toddled out, a bounce in her step. Lenta hugged Vetch tightly, then grinned at Mauli.

"I'm letting her babysit more often. Now, GO GET ME A SHIRT. xd "

Vetch's First Other-Than-Family Encounter (Meepfur, Silver_Flame and Lenta)

Lenta
Lenta steps into the Velveteen center, Vetch tucked under one arm, and a grin plastered all over her face. She hadn't visited since she opened the trunk and received her plushie, and it was about time she came back. She couldn't let Vetch grow up to be unsocial like she was, now could she? Settling herself in a chair near the doorway, she began preening Vetch, going over his fur and picking out any bits of fluff or dirt that she found, and immedietly flicking it away.

"Kailee has GOT to be more careful with you..." She mused, removing a bit of wax from Vetch's neck and wrinkling her nose.

Meepfur
Meep opened the door to the shop and peeked in before entering, Toby secure in the crook of her elbow. She'd decided it was high time she pay the shop another visit, leaving Vlad in the apartment to watch Toby's 'sister,' a recently-hatched baby pard. Hah, rock. She was almost sad she wasn't around to see how they got on by themselves. Almost.

Lenta
Lenta jumped visibly as she heard the door open, and slid back in her chair, ears flattening against the sides of her head as she peered at the other owner.

"H-hullo." She stuttered out in greeting, wrapping her hands around Vetch's stomach. The llama plushie didn't seem to mind - but then again, he WAS a plushie. Running her fingers through his fur, Lenta blinked owlishly, tail limp at her side.

Silver_Flame118
*eagerly she watched these new people, soon bouncing up and down as she caught a familiar scent; it was that dog-lady!! maybe she would have food.. slowly slipping from her usual hiding places on the lower shelf closest to the door, she began to make her way around to Lenta's side, staring at her tail. Her own wagging hard, she slowly reached out a paw, her small, dull claws extended slightly, and began to paw at Lenta's tail, unable to help herself*

Meepfur
Meep was just as surprised to see the other owner as the other owner was to see her. She acquired a sort of deer-in-headlights look, swallowed hard and tugged at her collar and hugged Toby closer.

"Umm..hi." She dredged up a small, shy smile, though it was accompanied by a faint blush.

Lenta
"I'm Le-" She began to say, then yelped, snatching her tail away from Silver and shooting her a glare before realizing who it was. "Oh! Oh my goodness." Now she was REALLY out of it. How was she going to get out of this one? A fellow owner on one side, and a fellow were-girl on the other. However, after a moment of quick thinking, Lenta scooped Silver up and deposited her on her lap, beside Vetch. Prodding the llama plush towards her little friend, she grinned, relaxing slightly. She looked up towards Meep, extending a hand for her to shake.

"Lenta. Nice to meet you. This is Vetch, and... umm.... Well, i'm not too sure." Blinking, Lenta shrugged. "I haven't heard her talk yet, but she's pretty nice."

Silver_Flame118
*she blinked, rather shocked, falling over slightly as she was placed in Lenta's lap. What was goin on..? She looked to the llama plush beside her and sniffed warily at it, her head tilted slightly, before taking a moment to give Lenta a few good sniffs, her tail rigid in the air*

Meepfur
Meep watched the tail-snatching episode curiously, rather wondering what she'd gotten herself into with all of this. Nonetheless, she shook Lenta's offered hand.

"Meep. Or Iden, doesn't really matter which.." She trailed off, peering at Silver for a moment before shrugging inwardly.

Lenta
Lenta glanced down at Silver and Vetch, a grin spreading across her face. Not exactly what she had in mind for Vetch's first meeting... But it would do quite nicely.

Vetch stood completely still - he had no choice, really. After all, he WAS a plushie. xd

As they shook hands, Lenta looked back up, nodding. "Nice to meet you. I... I just picked Vetch up a few days ago. How about you and yours?" She motioned towards the plushie in Meep's arms.

*after she had done enough sniffing about, she paused to itch at fleas, looking from one to the other curiously.

Who were these people? friends i guess.. maybe they have food!!

at the thought of food her tail began to wag hard, and she stared up at Lenta expectingly, licking her fangs hungerly, her tail thumping against her leg, her eyes becoming big and sad, pleading for food, much like a sad little puppy*

Meepfur
"Nice to meet you, too." At the question, Meep took a moment to count back in her head. "It's been, umm...nearly a week, I think, since Toby..arrived." That seemed a decent way of putting it.

She idly scritched the dog plushie's head, as much for her own nervous benefit as for his, uh..whatever benefit the stuffed animal might get from a head-scritching.

She soon returned to eyeing Silver, interest caught by her antics. Was she hungry? She was acting it. Meep blinked, wondering if she had any food still in her backpack.

Lenta
Lenta nodded, a pleasant smile replacing the slowly-fading grin on her face. However, one look down at Silver, and the grin took over again. She knew that tail-wag... But she didn't have any food. The grin changed to a frown, directed at herself, and she began searching her pockets. Maybe Mauli had left something in them... She was always borrowing Lenta's pants for this-and-that, prolly to wear until her own fixed themselves. Or something. Nope, pockets were empty. Sighing, Lenta shrugged at Silver, ruffling her ears fondly.

"Nothing here... Sorry..." She'd have to remember to bring her little friend something next time she stopped by.

*she soon grew bored, her attention span that of a dead goldfish, and began to sniff around the chair Lenta was sitting in. Looking down at the ground below, which, from her point of veiw, was a pretty good drop, she began to pace and wonder how to get down. Glancing back to them, she flicked her tail and hopped off, at the last moment digging her claws into Lenta's jeans and climbing down before making the very short drop of about an inch to the floor below. Again pausing to itch at the fleas, she looked up at Meepfur, nearly falling over backwards. Whoa. She was tall. Stretching some, she then began to circle Meepfur's legs, stroking against them lovingly, a soft, rough grinding noise heard. She was purring. *

Meepfur
With a light shrug, Meep plopped into a sit right there on the floor (careful not to plop right on Silver), setting Toby in her lap and shedding her backpack. She got right to checking all the pockets, unzipping this one and that one, rifling around in each one for something edible. Finally discovering a rather sorry-looking, yet brightly-colored box, she shook it until it surrended its last couple of miniature pies.

She tended to keep them in there just in case one of her critters was riding around in the pack, which was why the box looked rather sad. It had been nibbled at by hungry pooka on more than one occasion. But the pies were safe from any sort of pooka-cooties, handily individually-wrapped. Peeling away the plastic, Meep triumphantly presented Silver with a little apple and blackcurrant pie.

Lenta
Lenta's grin reappeared, despite the fact that she now had a cluster of clawmarks on her legs. She was used to it; Simba (NOT the TLK one, he's a Nano. xD And I didn't name him, my friend did.) clambored around on her lap all the time, and she usually saw more of the claw-your-legs-to-pieces-while-trying-to-sit-down side of him at those times than the purr-happy-sleep-long-time side.

Anyways.

Lenta's tail beat happily against the legs of her chair, and her ears were perked ever-so-slightly. Aha! The other owner, Meep, had food! Silver wouldn't go hungry after all, and that made her relax even more. Meep was a complete stranger to Silver, and she still would shell out a few pies for the girl... That was nice. Lenta liked that.

A loud ring at Lenta's side made the dog-girl jump visibly once more, and one quick look at the digital screen had her up and stuttering a goodbye. "Mauli... Mauli's calling me, from the harbor... I've got to go, i'm so sorry!" Wincing, Lenta bent down and scooped Vetch up; the llama plush had fallen to the floor in her hasty stand. Flipping her phone open, Lenta answered it as she left the Center, and after a few minutes a loud shriek could be heard outside.

"YOU FOUND WHAT?!"

Silver_Flame118
*curiously she sniffed at the pie, her tail curling around her leg and her ears laying back some. Was this a trick? It looked kinda weird.. Slowly and carefully she raised a claw and dipped it into the pie, quickly pulling it back and sniffing at it, watching Meepfur the entire time. After a few quick licks, she was soon satisfied that Meepfur would not attack, and that it was food. Tasty food. Free tasty food. Inching a bit closer she began to wolf down the pies, her tail wagging hard, sending small bits of pie everywhere as she tried to stuff her mouth as full of food at one time as she could. On more then one occation, because of this, she nearly choked, but she managed to force it down. Soon she was covered in pie, but she really didnt care at this point. it was FOOD. yay! *

Meepfur
Meep couldn't help but jump a bit at the ring of Lenta's phone, easily startled herself. Absently, she wondered who this 'Mauli' was, just out of simple curiosity. As Lenta left, she offered a small wave. "It was nice meeting you.."

She grinned happily as Silver finished her inspection and devoured the pies, glad that she been able to come to the rescue, as it were. Going hungry was never fun. She gave a little giggle, too, at the pie-encrsuted Silver. "Looks like it's just us now, eh?"

There's been ANOTHER addition to my household, Journal. A little cat-boy by the name of Carlos. I can't even sleep anymore, because i'm afraid he'll fall back on his instincts and try to kill me in my sleep... Well.... He can't even crawl yet... So I dunno how he'd get here to kill me... But you can never be too careful, right?! mad I hope he tries, the little maniac. I'll show him which species is superior in a heartbeat.

Kailee hasn't left Vetch alone in the past few days. She's kept him at her bedside, brushed his fur with a little doll brush, and even taken him outside for small walks. Not that she WANTED to go on walks... Lord no. She hates the outside. But Mauli suggested that she take Vetch out to get some fresh air, and wham, suddenly she's been going on half-hour outings every afternoon. o_o Moo's influence probably helped, as well. She's been bugging Kailee about getting outside since... well... since Kailee became a teenager. I'm glad she and Vetch are getting along so well. It's nice to see Kailee coming out of her shell, and Vetch needs to get involved with other people s'more.
