I need help on going Wifi in a hotspot......Ok....I am in McDonalds, and I have Mario Kart, and i search for an Access Point, then lots of red locked icon's pop up, i click on one, then i have to enter a WEP Key...WHAT THE HECK IS A WEP KEY AND WUT DO I PUT ON THE WEP KEY????????? I NEED HELP!!!! domokun

I think you might have chosen a wrong one then. I'm guessing that McDonalds is in the middle ofa populated area, where many people have wireless routers. Either that, or there are many people on a laptop at that hotspot. Find one where no WEP key is needed. WEP is an encryption mode for wireless.

I'd try going up to the front desk and asking for the WEP key.
I'm not sure, but I think you might have to buy something to use their service, so they might have it WEP protected.

No, not at McDonalds' Nintendo Wi-Fi hotspots, those are completely free...

Not all McDonald's have WiFi. In my city of 500,000 there's only three or four that have it out of, like, twenty McDonald's. Don't just assume that it will have WiFi.
And if it does, the WEP key is not going to be locked. And asking at the front desk is just going to get you weird looks.

Don't just not do something because you think someone will think dim of you.
