Guild mods: I don't think this is a duplicate thread, but if it is, I'm sorry.
So ANYWAY...
I was just wondering what people would try to say to a POTO character if they met one, or what they would do if they saw one walking around, or something like that.
Here's what I would do:
Erik -- I'd try to engage in abstract music talk, or get him to teach me to sing better.
Christine -- I'd probably ask her all sorts of questions about herself, like people usually do when they try to make friends. (She and I would be pretty good friends; we have a lot of the same qualities.)
Raoul -- I don't know...maybe just say hi and have a short and cheerful covnversation.

Me: *sees Erik* [...] *staring*
Erik: *senses my presence and turns around*
Me: Um....who are you?
Erik: *shifty eyes* I am Erik.
Me: O_O Erik...as in THE Erik? Phantom?
Erik: *nods slowly*
Me: *spends about ten seconds NeeH!ing*
Erik: Calm down...?
Me: Sorry, I just got hyper. Anyway, you're a composer, aren't you?
Erik: Of course.
Me: SO AM I!! =D Not as good as you, of course. No one's as good as you.
Erik: What are your compositions like?
Me: Simple...darkish...
Erik: *reverts to abstract music talk*
Me: *mumbling* Yay abstract music talk with Tayh F!!
Erik: What??
Me: Nothing.......continue......

And this is probably how my meeting Christine would go...
*I'm in the children's chorus of an opera where Christine plays the lead*
Me: *goes over to Christine* Hi. Are you the one playing (name of title role here)?
Christine: Yes...
Director: Time to start rehearsing...so, children's chorus, you enter stage right with Christine...
Me: Is that your name? Christine?
Christine: Yeah. Christine Daae.
Me: *stares in complete awe* How come I didn't recognize you?!!?
Christine: I'm not one of those people who stand out. I look normal.
Me: Oh, okay...By the way, I just absolutely love your voice.
Christine: Thanks...
Me: How come you're so good??
Christine: Well, I seemed to be gifted. And Erik helped. A lot.
Me: *NeeH! spree*

Another meeting with Erik...this one even less likely to happen...
Erik: *ish uber-composing at the organ*
Me: *slips in quietly, pulls out laptop and roll-up midi keyboard, opens Allegro, opens Song For Anytime, hits playback button*
Sound system: ting ping ping ping ting ping ping ping DOOO dooo dooo laaaa la la laaaa laaaa laaaaaaaaaaa
Erik: *stops playing* Wha?
Me: *blush* Oops, sorry, forgot my earphones. *takes earphones out*
Erik: Are you connected with some orchestra overseas or something?
Me: No, it's all midi playbacks. This piece has never been performed. *smiles proudly*
Erik: So is that a composition?
Me: Yep! But it's still not finished yet. *hasn't looked up yet, looks up now* Homigod....
Erik: *muttermutter* I was right...everyone IS frightened of me.
Me: I can't believe it! I've found you!!!!!!!
Erik: [...]
Me: Will you be my voice teacher?
Erik: *returns to composing*
Me: Ah well. *returns to composing*
Just to tell you, I don't have a roll-up midi keyboard, I don't slip off places to do my composing, my laptop wouldn't last very long if I took it anywhere without the charger, and I always use earphones if I'm doing anything on the computer with sound in a public place. But I do compose and Song for Anytime is one of my compositions.

If I met Raoul I'd wonder where he came from before asking if he spoke English and if he did we'd talk about how evil Erik was to him...
If I met Erik I'd be terrified because you never know when you are annoying him and if you are you're as good as dead. We'd talk about music and inventions and how my friend's favorite tourtue device is something Erik made.
If I met Christine I'd ask her to sing a little something. If she refused I'd ask what it was like being Erik's student and stuff.
If I met Meg I'd hug her just because she is so cool.
If I met Nadir, I'd tottally just huggle him to almost death. Then I'd ask something.
And this concludes what I'd do if I met them.

Hmm.. if I met Erik, I would be doing cartwheels in my head. I would try to strike up a conversation about music, describing some of my compositions to him (yes, I compose as well) and asking him to sing for me or something. Or give me singing tips. ^_^
If I met Christine, I'd ask her what working at an opera house is like and I would empathize with her Erik and Raoul dilemma.
If I met Raoul, I'd ask him to show me around his home.
