Many years in, the building is now home to the aging couple, their son Marcellus, who is but a few years into his adulthood, and a fair amount of servants ready and able to assist with the family's needs. Being of considerable status and inherited wealth, it is quite reasonable to assume that the house is a beautiful one, but in a very imperialistic way. It is something to beheld, but more in the way that a Gothic church is viewed. Impressive, and attractive, yet fearsome.
This is only the outside though, the building rumoured to have been part of a long destroyed castle belonging to some ancient northern race. Inside impeccable taste is shown, assumedly being designed by Vasili's wife, and later Maria, who both displayed a taste for the arts. There is proper accomodation for at least two other families, without the servant room being emptied and the entire interior is decorated with paintings from up and coming artists and fine furnitures passed on through the Csar line.
Truly a most fascinating prison for a certain young man.
