 Chuakari, the bright pink cheetah cub, has wandered some ways into the Pridelands, though not too far in. Quite calm when alone, she entertains herself by jumping around though the grass and ascending and descending rocks- making a game out of staying upright through all of the jumping.
She stops after one particular leap to a rock, looking around to see if anyone is around. Taking the chance to catch her breath, she makes sure to look carefully. She wants to know if anyone is watching her! Have to make a good impression, playing like this might not work..

 Amani emerged from the brush she had been napping under. her paw was still tender from the recent incident with a thron, but it didn't hurt as much to walk on it anymore. She was about to look for her two companions when she caught sight of an odd creature. It seemed these days she was prone to meet new animals.
This one was a bright pink, so she guessed it had as much trouble hiding as she did. It was smaller than her, but that didn't make her the least bit cautious as she approached it. It could have friends or family nearby.

Chuakari yelps when something suddenly emerges from the brush, immediately shaking off her fur and straightening her posture. She certainly can't look threatening, between her small size, bright colors and attempts to look important/presentable. She jumps from the rock she was standing on, trying to keep the jump smooth but she ends up stumbling when she hits the ground, falling onto her stomach.
"Woops!" She scrambles to her feet and shakes off again, pausing before walking toward the creature that has appeared. She will make a friend, so she thinks, thus having no fear whatsoever of the bigger animal.

Amani looked down at the smaller creature and tilted her head to one side. It looked harmless, and rather clumsy, too. Funny thing was, though, it didn't look at all afraid of her. Definately not afraid.
"Uh... Hello?" Amani said in a soft, somewhat questioning tone. She wondered where the little thing got its courage.

"Hello!" Chuakari greets the lioness brightly, but is disheartened by the questioning tone. Has she done something wrong already? Maybe this.. um.. whatever-she-is wouldn't sound so uncertain if she hadn't fallen when she jumped off the rock. Now she's going to have to practice that when she's alone again! She frowns and flattens her ears.
"Um, what's your name?" she asks, tilting her head.

Amani's head jerked back at the little one's frown. What had she done to upset her?
"Amani... Is something wrong?" she asked, sitting down. She looked down at her paw for a moment before raising it to her tongue and licking the healing wound. She kept her gaze on the other animal, though. She wasn't aware that someone could take offense to her questioning attitude. She was shy as well as suspicious by nature and couldn't help it. Nor, did she notice how her unsure demenor affected others.

"Amani is such a pretty name!" she exclaims almost at once after she was told the name, though she'd probably say it anyway she does actually think it's a nice name. She tilts her head and turns her ears forward again.
"Something wrong? Um, noo, unless you think so," she answers, trying to be more positive. It'd work better than focussing on the uncertain tone, maybe she'd forget about the fall?
She glances back over her shoulder to the rock, narrows her eyes a bit, and then looks back at Amani, looking more cheerful.
"Oh, I'm Chuakari," she introduces herself.

Amani let her paw fall and nodded her head.
"Nice to meet you, Chuakari," she replied, pausing on the name to pronounce it properly. She smiled a little and blinked. The it hit her. Could Chuakari be wondering whether she saw her fall off the rock or not? At this, Amani laughed.

"Nice to meet you too, Amani," the cheetah cub beams, pleased that the lioness takes the time to pronounce her name right- if you didn't really care, you wouldn't try. So maybe she is off to a good start after all! Just when she convinces herself of this, Amani starts to laugh and the cub freezes.
She's being laughed at now?
B-but-
Chuakari frowns and, flustered, tries to think of a way to make her stop laughing at her. She looks around to try to find some way to make up for looking so silly, but all she can see is grass and rocks.
"I'm sorry!" she says finally.

"S-sorry? What do y-you have to be sorry abou-about"" Amani asked through giggles. She had been grinning, a rare occurrance for her, until she saw the look on Chuakari's face. Well, she sure screwed that up. She guessed the cub had thought she was laughing at her, when in all actuality she had been laughing at herself for not thinking of certain possibilities sooner.
This was why she didn't like being around others much, apart from the terrible fear from things larger than her. She could never get things right. Everything somehow messed up for her and she couldn't help it.
"I... wasn't laughing at you. Was laughing at myself," she whispered, looking down and to the side slightly.

"I didn't mean to trip, I just wanted to come and talk to you," she mumbles in reply, sitting down and curling her dark pink tail around her bright pink feet. Her violet eyes watch Amani when she stops laughing, suddenly not looking very happy again. Maybe apologizing isn't a good thing? She'll have to try something different then..
"Oh?" her ears twitch as she tries to hear Amani's whisper, not feeling very bright after that explanation. Now she's clumsy and dumb- there's no way Amani will like her now.
With a pause, she decides to mimic Amani. If she can laugh at herself, so can this cheetah. Maybe it'll make her less unhappy? The decision is made with only enough delay to show she did think about it, but then she laughs a little bit- not so sincere at first, but it gradually becomes more natural sounding.
Maybe it is kind of funny.

Amani looked up when the cub started laughing. Now what was her game now, she wondered.
"What's so, heh, funny?" Amani asked, a small smile back on her face. Normally, another's laughter didn't affect her. Chuakari, however, was a different case. The cub's laugh was so contagious that she was having trouble not cracking into a full-blown grin.

It takes her a minute to calm down, but when she does stop laughing she has a smile on her face this time. The laughing was successful- Amani looks happy- which makes Chuakari happy.
"I can laugh at me too," she explains, "'cause I thought you laughed at me, but you said you didn't~" She nods, her tail swishing eagerly behind her now, only a little bit concerned about bringing up the mistake she'd made.

"Oh, that makes a lot more sense," Amani replied and yawned. She guessed she hadn't slept long enough. She laid down on her stomach and looked back at Chuakari.
"So, what brings you here? Don't you have a family or friends?" she asked, her tail flipping back and forth with her curiousity.
((Darn all these are short... Okay, well I'm almost conked out; can barely se the keys. We'll continue some other time, like tomorrow, okay?))

(( Sure thing! It's quite late for me as well~ esp. with time change *shakes fist at clock for skipping an hour*
Sending this now so you'll know, will reply before I go too XD ))
The cheetah watches the lioness yawn and roll over, keeping a cheerful smile on her face the entire time. When she's asked about family and friends, she isn't sure what to answer- she doesn't actually, but who'd like some random pink creature wandering out on it's own?
"I was just playing," she says with a nod, "And I sure do! They just aren't here, I guess I wandered off so I could play here. The grass is much more fun here than other places."
There's no hint in her voice to give away that she isn't being honest about having a family and friends somewhere.
