Yeah..so I know that for some of you prom is coming up or you may have already had your proms in years past. Basically I'm sort of in a jam with things. I have a few problems and maybe the ladies here can help me.
1. What did you do to your hair? I am the kind of person who hates having her hair up, because I think I look more chunky. I wanted my hair down, but I really have no clue what to do..
2. How do you slow dance? Yeah..I actually have a date to my prom..I'm a bit shocked too. Also he's not gay! heart
3. Should you do something afterwards? Like I really have no clue..for it's like 12:30 by the time you come home..Where do you go?
Basically those are my questions. I'm kind of on the nervous side, for I'm going with my first straight boy and I don't want him to be bored with me...rawwwrr...

PROM!! lol
Alrighty.. I can tell you some of the stuff I did when I went to my prom ... 4 years ago... biggrin
Hair: I'm the same way about me and my hair, so I compromised. Most of my hair was left down, but I took three strands from each side of my hair, and braided them, and secured it with a tiny clear rubberband. So my hair was out of my face, but mainly down.
Slow Dance... I went with my BF at the time.. And still really don't know how to do it.
Afterwords: Good idea- We all basically went home afterwards, and then the whole group of us spent the entire day together the next day, so it was like a 36 hour prom festivity. whee We went to the zoo, and some other stuff that I don't remember.. and then some other stuff later that night, but we made a whole day out of it. It was quite enjoyable.
And that's my .02. smile 3nodding

I wanted to leave my hair down for prom too last year and I did, I just had it straightened and then like raised in one spot for a tiara.. yeah... I'm THAT stupid.. uhm.. nothing really to slow dancing.. unless you mean all fancy.. which I can't do.. uhm.. put your arms around his neck and just kinda waddle in a circle? xd and.. after prom I went home.. and the next morning we went to the mountains and played in the snow.. it was pretty fun.. I'm having trouble picking out a dress.. again.. although I have my eye on one xD

my prom is coming up very very soon so i can tell you what im doing. hair- i have curly frizzy hair that is very long. so to show its tru lenght i am getting it straightened. and then im getting the ends dies bright red. im leaving it down and parting it to the side. as is my usual thing. and i think im going to buy some spray in color and glitter for my bangs then do some streaks.
for slow dancing all you really have to do now-a-days is put your hands on his shoulders and sway. thats all there is to it. guys dont walts anymore so there are no special dance moves that can be done unless hes leading the way. and if he is follow his touch. if you are actually dancing he will have his hand on the small of your back and the other will be holding your hand. step with the right foot first and if he puts pressure on your back trun right if on your hand turn left (usually) he may try to spin you but no worries if you dont get it. and as i said before, its highly unlikely that he will know how to dance any way. because remember, guys dont hink its cool to learn how to tango anymore.
afterwards. well if you didnt go for something to eat, and even if you did you may want to go again. and thats all i can realy tell you because what you do after really depends on what you want to happen...

I'm putting my hair partially up and leaving most of it down. I think that looks flattering on most females. That way it looks pretty, but it's still down enough just in case you feel insecure (like I do).
Slowdancing... is kinda silly. Your arms go around his neck and you rock back and forth to the music.
After prom parties are always fun. If you have friends going, suggest that you all hang out somewhere afterwards as a big group. Denny's is always fun. Otherwise someone's house or something..
Good luck!! : ))

Prom..how exciting...boy that seems like forever ago for me...but it was only a year ago haha..anyawys...fooor...
Hair: I left my hair down but my sister curled it...lots of curly ringlet type deals..it looked really pretty and I got a lot of compliments from class mates who usually never noticed my existence...
Slow Dance:...I went with my Gay best friend...so slow dancing..well it was easy haha...just go with the flow..
Afterwards: My date and I just drove around town like everyone else showing off and laughing and blaring music (small town fun)
Basically...make it a night to remember and have fun with it..it's YOUR night to be yourself and just love being apart of everything..Go have fun!!! Enjoy these times while they last! I miss high School sad

Just as a side note. Some straight guys do think its cool to learn how to Tango and Waltz. Most just don't have the coordination for it. I tried with my date for my prom....ohhh....about 4 years ago or so. She couldn't follow me unfortunately. (Of course I had a severly sprained ankle too.)

My formal was amasing! It was in November...can't wait till the Graduation dinner!
OK OK hair wise I had a simple straight style with a dymonte clip that matched my dress
My date was my best friends friend so we didn't slow dance...but just the good old fashonied arms round neck sawyey thing works for me
and I had a party at my house followed with a girly sleepover!
was great!

I wish I could join in on this topic. But.......I never had a prom. sweatdrop Long story that I don't openly talk about, even with close friends. Sad isn't it? What I'm wondering really is.......is it really that important? (Sorry if I'm too far off topic or ruined anyone's fun with this post, in those cases, just ignore me and I apologize)

Wow my prom seems like it was forever ago >.<;; **Its been three years now** Ironically enough the fattest girl at the prom was the most envied. I bought a designer dress for over $300, my hair was gorgeous and my date was the guy that half the class wanted to go with. Afterwards we came back to my house and went to sleep, but the next day we went to the shore and went to beach and boardwalk. It was ssoooo much fun! <3
