The sun was baking everything to a crisp, and the den of his family was too crowded with his sister, mother and father. Therefore, Bakari set out to the oasis.
As the cub padded along to the large pool of water, shaded by palm trees, he began to think back to his friends. Riku had been captured, Nukta and Adanna were in the Pridelands, and Latifu... where was she?
He sighed softly to himself, continuing along through the dry waves of grass, before spotting the little patch of paradise a few yards from him.

And, unbeknowing to Bakari, Latifu was in the said oasis, trotting around as if she owned the place....for now. She easily was growing bored of being out here on her own, and thought she hid very well, no one seemed to find her....and it was so boring. The newly grown juvenile lioness quickly switched gears though, and noticed that something was approaching the oasis. Success! Perhaps she wouldn't be so bored now! Score one for Latifu. She crouched down in the grasses, her coat helping her blend in other better then other lions, and waited. She wouldn't be the one hiding this time, nooo, she'd be the attacker. Hah.

The cub burst through the grass with a silent shuffle, making his way to the cool water. His eyes were downcast to the sandy ground, which was good news for Latifu! 8D
He seemed too sad to play, as he lapped up some cool mouthfuls of water. And just as Latifu seemed ready to pounce on the unsuspecting juvenile, he glanced up for a split second.

And in that split moment that he looked up, a flash of teal-and-sea green tackled him to the ground. The little lioness was quite proud of herself, being able to pounce on thi- whaaa?!
"BAKARI? D:" Latifu was stunned. Where the heck did he come from? WELL. She'd show him who was tougher. >:3 And she DID.

The minute he looked up, he felt the wind knocked out of his chest, as he barreled over. Closing his eyes tightly before blinking a few times, he exclaimed, "L-LATIFU!" A light blush spread across his face, before he scrambled around under her.
Managing to get out from her weight, he stood up, staring at her with wide eyes and a dropped jaw. "Is that really... y-you?!" he asked, starting towards her curiously. She'd gotten prettier since he last saw her. @w@

Latifu blinked. What was he babbling about now? In her pause of thought, Bakari wriggled out from under his grasp. Damn. Well, she'd get him again when he wasn't suspecting it, again. Hah. >:3 Latifu looked at herself, side to side, and her paws. "Ummm...yeah?" She didn't quite get his question. She'd always been Latifu....did she look different now? She didn't think she'd changed that much, just gotten a little tougher, and leaner. Pouncing did that to a girl, if she did it enough.

Bakari stared at her for a few more moments, before looking past her. "AAGH!" he screamed, pointing behind her with a paw, looking scared out of his wits.
The minute she turned her head, he immediately pounced on her, tackling her to the ground. "HA! Gotcha!" he laughed, tugging at her ear playfully, and pawing her cheek.

Falling over onto the sparce grass, Latifu growled in a kiddish manner. Well, she was growling as best she could, but it sure didn't sound very frightening. "Whaddya do that for?" And in retaliation, she chomped down on his ear, pulling on it so he'd get off of her. Hah, she could still be tougher then him! >3

"Because, girls are--OW!" he wailed, putting a paw to her chest to try and pry himself from her jaws. "Leggo of my ear, Lati'!" Her teeth definitely hurt. 8D;
Finally rolling off her, he rubbed his ear gingerly. "One of these days, you're gonna putch a notch in my ear!" he whined at her, before grinning evilly and tugging at her tail gently. He had to remember he wasn't rough-housing with Tamariku.

But Lati wasn't some weak little girl! She could take a beating herself, being such a tomboy as it was. "Yeah? Well, it'll help the air blow through your ears into your head, haha!" She tried to tackle him, but missed this time around, laughing at him and trying to pounce on him again. The seemed to roll deeper into the Oasis as they played. And they definately weren't paying attention to where they were going...

"You're one to talk, bigpaws!" he laughed, before leaping directly for her head. The two fell over one another, tumbling and rolling right into the oasis!
Feeling cold water surround them suddenly, Baki gave a yelp and leapt off Latifu. It took him a few seconds to realize they must've taken a tumble, before he grinned and splashed around in the water.

Latifu winced as they hit the cool water. She wasn't expecting that! But she'd have to pay Bakari back for pushing her into the water! D: So she splashed as much water as she could at him, getting him soaked, and bounded off into the sparse grass, trying to keep away from him. Sneaky, hah! >:3

The juve turned around to face Latifu, just in time to get his head and torso soaked with water. His mane, although short, stuck to his face, but that didn't stop him from bounding towards her!
Making a flying leap, he tackled her into the grass, bits of leaves and twigs getting stuck in his fur.

And of course, getting the two of them thoroughly dirty.
Latifu growled at him, and swapped at him with her tail. She wasn't going to lose that easily! She wriggled out from under him and pushed him over, bounding off back into the water to wash off the bits of dead grass and dirt that was covering her now.

Bakari flopped onto the ground, getting a mouthful of dried grass. Spitting it out, he stood up and ran after her, making a leap at her. Unfortunately, he missed.
Flopping into the water and rolling underneath it, the juvenile tumbled to the deeper end of the oasis, before flailing and splashing to the surface.
