Have you guys seen the new Neocharge stuff on Neopets, along the right hand side, and in the news?
When I first saw it, I was over at my mom's and she showed me, and I read a little about it, perplexed, and wanting to read more at home. Then my sister neomailed me and said her friends are thinking it's this year's April Fools Joke. Reading more about it, especially the consequences of being unable to pay your bill (ie. having items removed from your account, having your pets pounded, or having painted pets returned to normal) is just way ridiculous, so yeah, April Fools it must be!

All I can say is that it had better be! If it's not, I will not play on there anymore. How could they justify taking neopoints from the players just to click around the site? IT's INSANE!!!

I know I've been absent from this guild, but I came in to bring this topic up. I just clocked up 260 points by doing what I always do, feeding my pets, playing three games of hasee bounce, getting free omelette and free jelly and collecting interest from the bank. Not happy!

I saw this ridiculousness last night on Neo and I'm sure it's a joke, but it's one in very bad taste. Neo is proving a level of arrogance and overall immaturity that I'd not attributed to them thusfar (& my opinion of them as an organization / IT company is not high). For one, I'd rather they put the week's worth of programming and development time spent on this into something like... oh... Customer Support? ... rewriting their ever-fluctuating 'rules' so there's no room for interpretation by players or by staff.... you know... something useful... rather than into "charging" us for our activity on the site and having something follow us around the screen as we're trying to navigate/play. It's annoying and I'd be very suprised if they don't seriously scare away a lot of their players with this joke. I will not be on Neo for more than basic stuff until after this weekend ... rolleyes

I found it this morning too. scream I really had the idea of quitting neopets until I realized what today was. I'm sure it's just their stupid way of pulling an april fool's joke. If not... then they'll suffer the consequences. stare

Yes, canceling Premium was one of my first thoughts too. Not just because of the joke, but just that it's one *more* thing on the list. The level of disorganization in that company astounds me... at *best* it is highly dysfunctional... :: /stops rant here ::

Well, my sister tested it last night, and you know how you're supposed to be able to click pay now after you're accrued 1000nps in charges? (I figured hey! just don't click it!) Well, my sister tried it after she went over 1k and it still told her she hadn't accrued enough to be able to pay. So I'm figuring no matter how much you rack up, it will never actually take nps from you. Stick it out you guys. Even if they have bad humor, there are things about the site which I'm willing to stick around for. whee

I only ask because when me sister left premium a while back they kept insisting she had to do it over the phne to a live rep. They would not even let her do it in a live chat. She was going bnuts trying to reach them by phone As for the joke part, I have not "played" neo in at least two months. I laugh/cry when I think how hard I worked trying to put together two lab maps that now sit there going to waste. I guess if today is a joke, it is one more thing that seals my seperation from neo and everything I *though* I enjoyed about it.

I guess I am the opposite of all of you. I could never leave neo. I enjoy it too much. I would have a much easier time leaving gaia which I have been thinking of doing. I'm just not happy with it right now at all.

simlizzy I laugh/cry when I think how hard I worked trying to put together two lab maps that now sit there going to waste. My two lab maps and petpet maps are currently unused too because I don't have room to move any pets around, and don't want to change any of their looks! But once Jade's newest account ages to 4 months, that will change. But I'd rather have accounts full of painted pets the way I like than see the most-of-the-time unexciting lab ray results, or pounding painted pets that wind up accounts that get frozen. The gains on neo are always more than the losses, otherwise we'd all break even. Even when a silly glitch eats my potion I just bought for 1.9 mil, my gains are still more! Yes, neo has silly politics, and a lot of things I wish they'd change, but they ARE swamped with way too many users/problems than they can handle, and they DO try. And I can't blame EVERYONE on the neo team. I'm sure some of them are really genuine and try to help where they can.

I'm just not happy with it right now at all. I vary quite a lot with which site I feel like playing. Some weeks I hardly play gaia, other weeks, hardly neo. It goes with my moods. Feel free to take a break if needed, but PLEASE don't leave gaia altogether Rue! You're one of the main foundation blocks of this couch, and if you left, I'm worried the whole thing would crumble.
