Today is the anniversary of Terri Schiavo's brutal death. Just take a few moments to remember her life.

She was a woman in Flordia who was killed by way of having her feeding tube removed. There were a lot of shady aspects surrounding her death, and although her husband said she wanted to die, her family said she wanted to stay alive.

She died after 13 days of no food or water. There was a big campaign to save her but no one did.

ah, that one... yes, that was stupid... people shouldn't be able to take off someone's life supprt like that, i think people should have to sign something for or against removing their tube, so this sort of thing doesn't happen again

"No matter what my condition or how I my be wrosining or growing batter or staying the same, in no way is any docotr to remove my life support"

Um.

I think that while, yes, I was for Terry Schiavo's decision to die (I believe her husband.), I also think that, no matter how you look at it, it sucks for the families and people involved. I also don't think it helped that everyone and their dog got involved in the family's private business.

Not my idea of personal privacy.

Not to start some huge thing, but it wasn't her decision to die. I know someone who is very close with the family and there are alot of things that weren't reported.

Regardless, the way she died negated any right to death arguement. She was starved to death and thirst to death not even allowed communion. Her lips and skin broke and bled. It was not a dignified death. Had she actually wished to die, I highly doubt she would like to die in the horrid way it was carried out.

Her husband abused her, and that's the only reason why she was dying. Her family was trying to save her, and she was TRYING to get her message out that she didn't want to die. She was trying to say she wanted to live!

"Terri, if you would just say, 'I want to live,' - all of this will be over."

According to pro-life activist Randall Terry, who recounted the scene to radio host Sean Hannity, Schiavo tried desperately to repeat Weller's words.

"'I waaaaannt . . .' Schiavo allegedly said, in a prolonged yell that had police stationed nearby running into her hospice room.

Her husband is a lying b*****d.

Poor woman... she didn't deserve to starve to death.

yes... if they have to do it, at least make it quick... she had no documentation saying that she wanted to die, so ******** what her husband says.
and i wasn't aware that she was concious to try to speak... i thought she was in a coma-type state

No, she was consious.. She was just kinda, blah. xP She was able to speak, I think she was just brain damaged...

It's hard to imagine being starved and thirst to death for 13 days. *shudders* Broorel is right. It was not a dignified death. sad

I remember that all too well. I'd always had my issues with certain people or specific viewpoints, but that was the day when I truly began to wonder what the human race has been reduced to.

May the lesson we were forced to learn so horribly never leave us.

I thought he wanted her to die for money or something. Like supposedly she had life insurance and he wanted it. (Or the medical bills were just too much) But yeah, I agree. He is a lying b*****d and when he dies, I hope God condemns him to the deepest darkest hole in hell.

Satan says, "Nice job!"

b*****d.
