The rains this season had truly been generous with their nurturing kiss, and it had been precisely warm enough to allow flowers and herbs alike to flourish without withering from undue heat. In some ways, it had perhaps flourished too much - it had become necessary of late to prune many of the blooms to prevent the garden as a whole from being overburdened. Too many flowers clamoring for sunlight, shading out one another and demanding more and more of the soil. A garden could be a beautiful thing left to grow wild, but in the wrong conditions, it might compete itself into nothing more than a withered husk of itself.

So in an effort to prevent that from happening, she'd plucked flowers that had seen their lives through, gathering them all in a flat basket to decide what to do with later. And when later had come when she'd finished her task, a thought had occurred to her. She would be unable to make use of all the flowers herself, and flowers often made an excellent gift to others. While she normally dealt in spells and potions, it was not too large a deviation to pluck wildflowers to pad out her stock and then offer the colorful blossoms to those who might make use of them. Whether it be a single flower, or perhaps a bouquet carefully chosen and arranged for its intended recipient.

It had been interesting. Apparently this moon cycle had seen an uptick in those who wished for their fortunes to be divined in the blossoms they chose, and no few had asked of her what their choice might say of their future thus far. An interesting twist to be sure, but one she'd happily played along with thanks to her own knowledge. She could only wonder if her next would-be "customers" would request the same of her.

Hakuron had gotten to the location he had agreed to meet up with Andromeidis. He was looking forward to seeing his friend once more. He knew it was a slightly rare thing for his friend to venture this far from his herd lands. Haku thought back to his own homelands and wondered briefly what his mother and brother were up to. He knew this season had become more about the flowers and he wondered if that was part of Andro's Quest.

Andromeidis had left his herd in secret. He had slipped out before his mate could notice he was leaving he did leave her a note saying that he would probably be back late. He didnt want her to worry but he had been hearing the others in the Herd talk about the flowers and the Flower Fortunes. He knew that Helio would absolutely love to have a flower fortune so he was going to get one for her. As soon as he figured out where and how to get one for her. This is precisely why he had asked Hakuron for assistance. He knew with as many other Soq as that...... Playboy..... knew he would have the answer of how to acquire his gift for Helio.

He slowly approached the place he had agreed to meet Haku at. He was hoping his friend was already here. As he glanced around he noticed that Haku was indeed already here. He stepped into the small clearing.

"Hakuron.... Thank you for coming....." he said sternly. Slipping back into his warrior side. "I was hoping you could assist me with procuring a flower fortune for Heliotrope... I feel like its something she would.... enjoy...." he shifted awkwardly as he talked and waited to see if Haku would be ok with assisting him. Also so he wouldn't have to do this by himself. He wasnt the most.... peopley person. His tail swished. The chain attached to his tail clinking as it moved.

Haku looked up over his shoulder as he heard someone coming up behind him. Sure enough it was Andro. He smiled as he shifted his wings and turned to face his friend. He knew some of the things he did irritated the dickens out of Andro and so he was always tempted to do them just to irritate his friend. He listened to what Andro said and sure enough it was about the flowers. He smiled as he knew just the one to take them to. He knew of her from another friend but knew that she would more than likely have what Andro would need.

He laughed as he said "Awwww look at the mighty Andro being all soft..... Isn't he adorable...." he chuckled a bit more and circled his friend "I do think I know of someone who can help! A friend told me of someone who would be wonderful at assisting with this... and I do think it would be something Helio would enjoy.... so we can set off whenever youre ready." He was prepared to set off whenever Andro was.

Andro growled lightly under his breath.... this was why he tried to avoid the idiot, but his hunch was right. Haku knew where to find someone who could assist him with getting the bouquet for Helio. The one that would come with the flower fortune. He nodded to haku.

"Yes let's head out... the quicker this is done the quicker we get back so I can give it to Helio before she worries..."

He walked with Haku and they traveled to the home of Maleficarum. Haku making jokes along the way. He would occasionally giggle and held conversation with Haku. As they got to Maleficarum's Home Haku got a bit quieter. They both approached respectfully as they did not wish to potentially insult or offend her.

Hakuron approached first. He was only slightly in front of Andromeidis but he did this because this was his idea after all. He cleared his throat as he looked around the gardens and the home of the one Zanzibar had talked about. If Zanz had liked her and told him she was good then he trusted him. Even if he hadn't met maleficarum in person before he had heard the numerous stories Zanz had told him.

"Hello.... we were looking for a bouquet and a flower fortune for my friends mate?" He hoped they wouldn't need to go to far to find her. His hope was that she would hear him and come out. He could admit to himself that he wasnt sure what to do now... but he wouldnt admit that to Andro.

Andromeidis looked around the clearing and just knew that Heliotrope would have loved everything about this. He was starting to get excited for the bouquet and fortune he would be taking home to her. He heard Haku ask the owner about it, so instead of adding his voice to the mix. He would allow Haku to handle things for now at least.

Maleficarum hadn't needed to wait overlong - it was no time at all before she noticed the pair of stallions approaching her home, and although their faces were unfamiliar, they approached with enough caution that she was certain at least one of them knew of her. No few souls out there had been warned not to trifle with a Witch of the Woods, and although the spells she cast were most often benign, she wasn't above hexing those who'd earned it. And she had confidence that her hexes were quite potent when they'd been earned.

But she doubted the stallions were here for spellwork, and as she nodded in greeting at the quite grand winged one that approached her, her suspicions were confirmed. She offered an easy enough smile, lifting a clawed foot and motioning towards where she'd set up the baskets of trimmed flowers to choose from.

"I've heard flower fortunes are quite popular right now." She stepped out further, joining the other stallion with another nod in greeting. "Please, pick three blooms that remind you of your beloved, or that you think she'd like. Don't think too deeply on it - just go with your first instinct. I'll offer your fortune as a couple based on your choices."

Hakuron smiled happily at the mare who emerged. It seemed that Zanzibar was correct and she was exactly who they needed to see in order to get this gift for Heliotrope. He let Andro take the lead as this was meant to come from him and he was really just tagging along for the walk and for moral support for his warrior friend. He chuckled to himself thinking about how he had the happy go lucky personality and seemed to keep attracting the Warrior types. Maybe there was something wrong with him? Who knew..... he got himself lost in thought.

Andromeidis watched the mare carefully as she came out and talked with them. He nodded to her when she walked over to the baskets. He followed her over to rhe baskets and gazed inside them. He let her words ring in his ears. 'Don't overthink it. Select what calls to you."

He looked at the flowers and noticed the Red Rose. He knew from others of his herd that the red roses were for romance so he knew he couldn't go wrong with that one. He gently pulled a couple of them from the basket, he placed them before the baskets hoping that they would be ok there. He wasnt sure how many flowers to pick but decided to see what called to him.

He glanced over the baskets once more and pulled out a white long flower that reminded him of Helio. Unknowingly to him they were white lilies. Then he came across these little pink flowers that also reminded him of Helio. It was almost like they were trying to hide behind the other flowers which reminded him of how she hid behind her wings. He smiled as he moved them into the pile as well. These were pink forget-me-nots. He wasnt sure if this was enough or if he needed to add more so he looked to Maleficarum.

"Is this enough for a bouquet and a fortune? Should I add more? I... admit.... I have never done this before...." he shifted his tail again making the chain clink once more. It was a nervous habit he had picked up. He hoped he made the right decision.

It was quite easy to pick up on the dynamic between the two stallions from observation alone - a nervous one trying to do something kind for his mate, and the friend who'd tagged along for moral support. She waited as the unicorn picked out the blooms that most strongly called to him, careful to keep her expression neutral - although she tilted her head for a brief moment as he chose the pink forget-me-nots. They were often overlooked, but would make an excellent accent to the bold choice of roses and lilies. And when he'd finished and looked to her, almost for approval, she gave him an approving nod.

"What you've chosen is more than enough for a bouquet. I can add some greens to fill it out a bit quite easily." She stepped forward to collect the blooms, moving towards a much larger basket full of various greenery and beginning to arrange and tie everything together with her claws. "I can tell just from these that your love is a deep and true one, still full of passion. Together you'll making many lasting memories, and so long as you remain devoted to each other, fortune will remain on your side. Someday you'll be blessed with a new beginning to transition your love into its next stage. Although it's difficult to say how soon that might be."

She finished as she spoke, tying off the bundle of cut flowers with some twine and offering them back to the unicorn stallion with a smile.

"Your mate is very luck to have you."

Andromeidis listened stoically to her words. He watched as she put everything together the roses and lilies the forget-me-nots and the greenery. It was a very pleasant bouquet and not overly overwhelming. He smiled slightly. It was almost inperceptible as he still maintained his warrior stoicisim. There was a little light in his eyes that wasnt there before as he listened to the fortune she gave. He knew that both he and Helio would remain devoted to each other. He loved her with his whole being. He also listened to the new beginnings. He almost blushed at Maleficarum as she spoke about not knowing how soon they may be. He knew Helio had been hoping for baskets for a while but unfortunately the spirits hadn't chosen them quite yet.

"Thank you... I appreciate your services greatly. If there is anything I can do for you.... within reason... I would be glad to return the favor." He lowered his head to her for a moment and then took the offered bouquet from her. He turned to Hakuron. "Thank you for leading me here... and for just... being here...." he wasnt good at these kinds of things.

Hakuron smiled at both Maleficarum and Andromeidis. He was glad he could help his friend and to get a fortune that his friends love will endure and they will remain together for a long time was exactly what he wanted for his friend. He was hoping for something along these lines. He genuinely loved Andro and Helio. And to think of Helio running around with foals hopefully sometime soon would be amazing. He smiled as he watched them then when his friend looked to him and thanked him he nodded his head.

He stepped forward and nudged Andro, being very careful of the bouquet. "There is a softie in there somewhere." He laughed as he heard Andro groan at him again. He looked to Maleficarum. "Yes thank you for your time and expertise. Zanzibar was a great friend and Aid in telling me the tales about you. I knew from his stories you were the perfect person to visit for this. If you see him before I do... please give him my best." He bowed slightly to her.

He turned to Andro. "Shall we head back? I can accompany you most of the way." He still wore the smile as he commented before starting on their journey back. He would be excited to see Helio happy.

Andromeidis looked to Hakuron and heard him talk of them journeying back. He nodded at the other stallion the Bouquet still held gently. He gave a final nod to Maleficarum as he turned and left with Hakuron. He rolled his eyes as the stallion said he would follow him most of the way. This meant he was coming home with him. Apparently he had two gifts for Helio... but only one would be truly unexpected. He sighed as he continued on the journey home with Hakuron.

"You do me favor already by making certain the blooms that needed to be pruned from my garden are put to good use instead of withering away," Maleficarum replied with an easy smile, nodding to the two stallions as they prepared to leave. "But have you any need for spells, herbal remedies, or potions, feel free to seek me out again."

The mention of Zanzibar was enough to give her pause, and after a moment Maleficarum laughed softly. So that was where they'd learned to approach her with an appropriate amount of caution. "It's been some time since he last visited. I'm certain he's due by soon enough. I'll make sure to pass on your regards when he's next here." She may not have gotten either stallions' name, but she imagined description would be enough for Zanzibar to know whom she was referring to. After all, both stallions were quite striking and would be difficult to mistake for anyone else.

And as the two left, she returned to where she'd been relaxing previously. No doubt there would be more fortunes to come.
