Despite seeming a little flighty, Adelia is really good at speaking her thoughts. She has always been good with words, and her writing is eloquent as well. Her thoughts are sometimes scattered, but her words always sound professional.

Adelia always puts others first. She makes it a mission to make sure everyone she meets leaves happier than when they met. She does sometimes do this at a detriment to her own joy, but she hasn’t yet stopped.

Despite being raised under very strict rules, Adelia found herself swayed to silliness. She likes wearing bright, colorful clothes, funky jewelry, and even fun ribbons tied in her hair. She often finds herself feeling down when she’s required to wear things outside her desired fun choices.

Adelia prides herself on her attention to detail. She notices most things, even if it was made to be overlooked. Even if her thoughts are a bit scattered, she still does her best to note anything she can spot.

Adelia is sensitive, and not just emotionally. She’s easily overstimulated when things get too bright or loud, though she’ll try to fight through it if the situation calls. Unfortunately, emotions can sway hers, sending her to tears or frustration faster than others might.

As with every child born in the Awbrey family, Adelia was named for her birth. Her parents raised her with love and fun, but when she was suspiciously accurate about guesses of the future, her grandmother stepped in. Every few generations, a new Seer was born, and her Grandmother refused to allow Adelia to be raised “incorrectly”. The woman firmly believed that anyone who possessed the skill should be held entirely liable for the knowledge they possessed.
She was taken to the empty countryside by her Grandmother, who required the young girl to dress in all black and not to deviate from her strict choices at all. Adelia was taught only the most traditional skills, since anything not traditional didn’t appease Grandmother. Once a month, Adelia was given a weekend at home, where she was able to truly be herself.
Whenever she could, Adelia would try to steal away moments of joy, letting herself be silly wherever she could. She begged her parents to let her go to Hogwarts when her letter arrived, even going so far as to make a presentation that she would learn more about how to use her skills to help people if she could learn more about people. When they stood up to Grandmother, the woman threw a fit, kicking them out of her life. Instead, the little family headed back to Castle Combe, determined to be a family again before Adelia left for school.
