Hobbies: Folklore & Mythology - It all begins with that big shiny book on Egyptian Mythology, doesn't it? Ever since he can remember, Marks has been fascinated with mythology, folk tales, and fairy tales from all over the world. Now that he is older, he really loves to analyze the lessons within, and the historical context. For him, they are more than stories - they are a glimpse in to the past and the mindset of the people of that time. They hearken back to primal truths of humanity, and whisper forgotten secrets in to the hearts of those willing to listen.
Ancient Civilizations - A childhood love for mythology lead in to an academic interest in ancient societies and history. Marks would take online college classes while traveling to historical sites, and spent many year abroad while pursuing his degree(s). He now has a deep and wide spread knowledge, with a primary focus on Bronze and Iron age European and Norwegian histories.
Virtues: Active-Listener - When you're with Marks, he is taking in everything with rapt attention - like a child watching a magic trick - you have his full attention. It's not just your words he's taking in, however, but your tone, demeanour,
vibes. He's paying attention to your body language, and perhaps more importantly - what you're
not saying. Of course, some of this could be his anxiety filling in the blanks, and no doubt a dash of hyper-vigilance, but here he is using that for
good. He tends to remember things said is casual conversation that you might have long sense forgotten you even said - such as surprising you with that favorite baked good from that obscure bakery you mentioned in passing a month ago.
Generous - Marks is willing to give to the world - he has a very open heart, and while he may not have much in terms of possessions or money, he will freely give his time, energy, and knowledge to help others. Of course, he's willing to give in the more traditional sense too, if he has it to give, but he is also a firm believer that the most precious thing we have to give if our time. He's quick to volunteer for things (even if he has a little moment of panic later when he realizes what kind of commitments he has made) and it can't be understated that he is

Flaws: There is No War in Ba Sing Se - Marks tends to avoid uncomfortable truths or situations with a barrier of stubborn denial. Yes, he
sees that there is a problem, trust me - he is
very aware of it but he is doing his best not to fall in to an anxiety-spiral by pretending he doesn't. When met with confrontation, Marks will run from it for as long as he can, and this is not only unhealthy, but usually will inevitably backfire on him. When there is a problem that he absolutely can not avoid, he
will break down in to a mess of overwhelmed tears to the point of practically having a panic attack.
Analysis-Paralysis - Marks is prone to over-analyzing a situation to the point that it becomes difficult or impossible to make a decision. He's gathered all the information and thought about all the possibilities - but what if he still makes the wrong decision!? He doesn't want to make a decision and then regret it later - he doesn't want to make a decision and end up upsetting someone. Sometimes there is just
too much to consider - too many variables and information. Like, why are there so many different toothpastes to choose from!? Why are there so many yogurt flavors!? Please, please don't give this boy options. Don't ask him where to have dinner. He will cry.
