Ah, the month of love.
Normally, the bees would be buzzing and the birds would be chirping, but the weather is so weird that that hasn't stopped happening much. It's weird, honestly.
But what's ever weirder is that you've received an invite to a banquet! Not only that, but the invite contains a second for your partner, best friend, parent, whoever you claim to 'love'! Promising delicious food, live music and a performance like no one's ever seen, you'd be a fool to turn it down!
Arriving with your plus-one, you find the banquet, held in a large, well-kept manor, is all that it claimed to be and more. The food is delicious, your fellow guests have wonderful conversation, and the music has your feet tapping.
Eventually, all feel the fatigue between the fullness of their tummies, the lateness of the night, and the once-rocking band has transitioned into something far more classical and sleep-inducing.
Only when you try to turn the knob of the door to the exit do you realize something is wrong.
The lights are dim, the scent of the air becomes acrid, and there's a low growl coming from...somewhere.
"How delightful...two for the price of one." A voice rumbles from who knows where. You can't place it, and it's spine-chilling.
"I'm afraid you can't escape that way." The voice all but purrs, a false wall on the opposite side of the doors opening up at the same time, leading into what seems like a fog-filled void.
With no other way to go, and the once kind-looking butlers ushering you with urgency towards the void, you find yourselves in a dark forest. No paths. Only the intermittent flicker of sparks where what look like car motors sit, waiting for busy hands to attempt to fix them.
"Disgusting...Prove yourselves worthy, Or...make it easy on me and give up."
As the voice laughs, the breeze tickles your skin and ruffles your hair. Cold and biting, the group heads towards the first light source available; a large bonfire.
You all scarcely have time to rest before a shot rings out, and one of the people next to you is yaked backwards into the shadow of the surrounding forest.
"Run, my bloody valentines."
