It was a nice quiet night after having spent the day at a small get together. It wasn't the renaissance festival persay but it did well, with tents popped up and all sorts of different characters.
However the event had ended and Odainsaker was headed home, after making a quick change. Since it was fairly late she felt like it was better to power up to head home. Not having wanted to run into a youma or anything of the matter.
She had her bo staff out as she walked. She was working on balancing it and twirling as she walked. She'd been watching a few videos studying but still wasn't sure she was good enough with the staff.

There was just something so appealing about taking the chance to really examine a freshly pulled starseed. In one hand Sodalite held the crystalline structure and peered down into the depths of it before simply shifting his gaze to the growing orb of energy in his empty hand. This was almost like taking candy from a baby. While he could have easily taken both energy and starseed with him, the Captain was wary of making too much of a scene as it was. The surprise ambush of almost teleporting into the path of his would-be victim had helped but it was the quick reflexes afterwards of yeeting the starseed that had Sodalite merely staring down at the unconscious victim.
Siphoning just a little more energy off of the downed stranger did Sodalite's inner radar inform him of some sort of unwanted company headed his way. The Captain broke off the concentration needed to steal energy before turning to face whatever threat bore down on him. The starseed was gripped tightly into his left fist as he brought his weapon down to bear against whomever dared to interrupt his evening quota.

The energy signature that blipped on her radar has the cosmos squire pause. Oh, that wasn't good. She wasn't sure what was going on but she was sure it wasn't good.
When she closed in where she could see him, "Halt." She noticed there was something gripped in his hand and an unconscious civilian on the ground. "I'm going to need you to give that back."
She said pointing her bo staff at him. While she didn't normally just start things first, this was one of those rare exceptions.

Taking in the appearance of the intruder did Sodalite feel his eyebrows raise in interest. This unknown was of the knight faction for sure. As he took in the uniform Sodalite felt his lips part in what he could assume was a charming smile. He loosened the grip on the starseed before giving it a gentle toss up into the air before catching it. His shoulders moved up and down in the typical shrugging gesture of one who didn't have a care in the world.
"Why should I give it back? What reason could compell me to do so?"
The grouping of soft pastel rainbows, gold stars ... Sodalite allowed himself a small smile before simply adopting a posture of "come at me" ... he'd not be beaten by a Cosmos Squire. They couldn't really do much of anything.

Odainsaker looked at him when he asked why he should give it back, "Because that is someone's life force and you are depriving them of a full life. That. Is not your choice to make."
The squire was not happy with the captain as he smiled and seemed to dare her to come at him. She took her bo staff and aimed it for his hand with the starseed.
"Alright fiend you asked for it!" She might be a cosmos squire but she was thinking back to what she'd seen with the larpers and actors at the renaissance festivals. She was sure she could at least put up a good fight.
