.:.Welcome, my friends...to hell.:.

At first glance, you see the Keep as you walk down the small path that some call a road, but the tough grasses growing through it made it not like any ever seen. Careful hands once pruned the area, but now, left it as it was.

Immediately, you sense something strange about the tower, but it was a benign strangeness. Castle-like in design, it was not classified a castle because of it's small size. So it was called a 'keep.' It had no name, and that was peculiar. It was supposedly centuries old, yet it looked as if the last stone had been slipped into place only yesterday. In fact, your first reaction was that you had made a wrong turn, and perhaps this was not the deserted 500-year old fortification you had heard about, that had just appeared one strange day.

Ages ago, a huge flat slab of rock had thrust itself out from the western wall of the pass. Around it ran a deep gorge through which flowed an icy stream that appeared to spring from within the mountain. The Keep sat on that slab where the small cabin used to be, but it seemed as if the Keep belonged there.

It's walls were sleek, perhaps forty feet high, made of granite block, melting seamlessly into the granite of the mountainside at it's rear. But the most striking feature of the small fortress was the solitary tower that formed it's leading edge: flat topped, jutting out toward the center of the pass, at least 150 feet from it's notched parapet to the rocky gorge below. That was the Keep. A holdover from a different age appeared. A welcome sight in that it assured dry living quarters during a watch over the pass.

But strange the way it looked so new, yet so old.

The heavy wooden gates in the Keep's entrance arch were wide open, as were the shutters on most of the windows in the walls and in the tower. The Keep seemed to be airing out. Strolling through the gates and into the cobblestone courtyard, you notice the cool and quiet. Turning slowly, you see that the tower looms over you; gray walls surrounding you on every side. Feeling as if one was standing in the arms of a huge slumbering beast, a shudder rolls through the hearts of many.

    Then you see the crosses.

The inner walls of the courtyard were studded with hundreds of them...thousands of them. All the same size and shape, all the same unusual design: the upright was a good ten inches high, squared at the top and lipped at the base; the crosspiece measured about eight inches and has a slight upward angle at each end. But the odd part was the height on the uprights at which the crosspiece was set--any higher and the cross would have become an upper-case "T."

They were vaguely disturbing: something was wrong with them. The upright was brass and the crosspiece nickel, all skillfully inlaid into the surface of the stone block.

Then, it strikes you. Something else was missing. Birds. There were no birds in this area, where they were loud in the woods you had exited. No. The Keep was silent, no wildlife anywhere to be seen.

Then, another thing comes to mind. Who had built the Keep? And who was paying to have it so perfectly maintained in such perfect condition? It didn't make any sense. Staring at the shadows, you realize that because of where it was built, light came very difficultly to it.

    ...Night would come early

Take a bite of the apple, see I'm rotten to the core....
Take a bite of the apple I don't love you anymore....

Cereza couldn't tell time anymore.

The creature wasn't sure how long it had been, after all. Had it been days? Months? Years? Blinking slowly awake, her eyes holding nothing but black, she groans. Her head was pounding. Pushing up from the floor at the very top of the Keep, she stares at the sky, frowning. Running her tongue over her pointed canines, she sighs. Perhaps it was time to wake up either way. She couldn't stay here forever, after all.

The call had been made.

Black swirls covered her skin, made up of hundreds of magical symbols. Each of them was twisted and wrong, but they glowed with a soft red light. As if there was a layer under her skin glowing. Her black hair had white tips, her skin dark because of her time in the sun. She could feel a light tug to her other half, and it was comforting to know that her sister was still alive. Alice.....

Pushing slowly to her feet, she extends her hands out in a stretch, clothing sliding over her form, covering her nakedness. A black shirt cut short beneath her breasts, a long black jacket, a pair of capris tied at her knee, red and black socks, and black boots with fur. Brushing her hands through her hair, she secures it in a messy tail, then smirks.

Silas had found Sorcha.

Wiggling her fingers as gloves appear on her hands, she laughs, the sound holding all the insanity that she refused to keep hidden. An air of malice surrounded her at all times, the smell of blood never quite leaving her skin.

The call had been made.

Cereza was finally awake.

The trail ends here... The woman walks down the path briskly, her skirts swirling around her. Though she had worn boots on this journey, she couldn't help but miss the comfortable softness of her tennis shoes. But Sig had a point. She needed to dress more appropriately for where she was. And this place had a problem with mud. Especially this road. It was a mess.

Whomever was taking care of the Keep was not taking care of the roads.

Huffing, she stops in front of the building, her green gaze taking it in easily. The crosses caught her eye, and a part of her wondered if she was stepping straight into one of those trashy novels that Trea used to be obsessed with. The woman would read so many of them while they were in between missions, and her and Rain would argue about the tedious romances in the pages.

Though thinking about them still gave her an ache in her chest, she smiles at the memory.

Cupping her hands around her mouth, her long fingertips graceful in the motion, she yells. "Hello!?" The rings on her fingers glinted in the light, silver and precious stones glittering. One stood out on her ring finger, the bronze roses around the mystic topaz standing out against her skin. It was the same design as the locket she wore around her neck, the items the most precious to her.

The goggles on her head stood out against her riot of brown curls, and she grins lightly. The creature had to be here. Moshi was sure of it. Turning back, she looks at the wheezing figure following her. He was wearing a simple black suit, his dark hair messy. She leans forward, speaking lightly. "Come now, Kent. We don't have time for your dilly dallying!" She watches as he rests his hands on his knees, letting out a few wheezing breaths before extending his hand out, his middle finger pointing upwards. Snorting, she turns, placing her hands on her hips. "That's the spirit. Keep at it."

Her gaze travels further over the Keep, and she walks forward, adjusting her satchel before entering through the gate. It was open, as if welcoming. The air changed as she walked through, however, and that was less welcoming. As if the whole place was haunted.

The familiar aura comes into the Keep, and the creature snaps her gaze towards the feeling. The smell. The taste. It was the Songstress. Incarnation of Fire. The grin spreads across her face, and wings tear from her back, ripping the trench coat she wore. She launches into the sky, claws coming from her fingertips. They didn't help her fly, but they completed the look of crazed hellspawn that she pulled to herself whenever the fancy struck her.

Added to the fact that wings were a handy way to travel.

Arcing through the sky, she gains height, then drops from the height to spin towards the front of the Keep. The presence had already gone inside. There was a second aura with the first, but Cereza was focused solely on the first. She couldn't help herself.

Pulling her wings in, she spins through the door and past the man, landing inches from the Songstress. It was a sudden stop, the breeze around her tickling her hair around her face, her coat flapping. Reaching out, she gets a brown curl from the Songstress around a claw, and pulls it to her face, breathing in slowly. "My lady Mosholaitenraa. How long it has been." The words come out in a sing song fashion, and Cereza grins, malice oozing from her every pore.

The creature smelled like death and bloodshed, insanity in her very features. Slowly, the claws retract into her skin, the wings sinking into her back. It left her looking semi-human, if you could ignore the black pits that she called eyes, and the red glow behind the black swirls.

The man yelps and dives to the side as the creature flies past him. Moshi turns as they land, her eyebrows rising in surprise. So much so that she didn't even flinch as the woman picked up a curl of her hair, bringing it to her face. Moshi watches her for a moment, her green eyes widening a little. This was the creature that Rain had been so concerned for? The darkness wafting for her was strange, and made her skin crawl, but it was no worse than the poor creature from the Musique they had sealed away.

Moshi smiles lightly, and speaks softly. "Miss Cereza I presume?" After all, she was a professional. It wouldn't do to break her mask of perfect friendliness. No matter how much she wanted to exit straight back out the way she came. Sig would be proud of her. She was getting much better at playing corporeal. Though it was a tricky road. Keeping herself solid was already trick enough, but he expected that she would also keep from being off putting.

It was a good thing she loved him as much as she did.

Clearing her throat, she looks around the woman, focusing on the man huddled on the ground. "Kent. I do wish you would get yourself together. It's very undignified to react that way in another's home." She chides the man gently, her smile growing as he flips her off before standing slowly, dusting himself off.

He was an excellent assistant, to be sure, but sullen and angry all the time. And quite a coward. But Moshi supposed that courage was not the thing she asked from him ever.

The creature keeps the curl in her fingers, twirling it around until it was partially tangled around the digit. Tilting her head to the side, she grins. It was true that they had never met in person. The Songstress wouldn't know that she knew her from the nightmare realms. The place in between. That dark spot that Cereza had once inhabited, kept in a quiet sleep by Mother.

Stepping forward so she was closer to the woman, she speaks again, that same sing song quality to her voice. "You are correct in your assumption, Songstress." Her black gaze turns to the man, and she grins again, bringing the curl to her lips to press a kiss on it before speaking once more. "Your follower is excused his rudeness. I am startling to quite many."

Looking back to the Songstress, the creature makes an odd rumble noise in her chest, releasing the hair and stepping around her in a circle, the tears in her jacket healing themselves, like liquid spilling around her. She clasps her hands behind her, speaking in that quiet menace of a voice. "What brings you to the dark, Lady Mosholaitenraa?"

She circles, her eyes going to the ceiling above her. As if she could see the sky. Her steps were slow, measured, the click of her heels echoing around them.

Her eyes crinkle at the corners as she smiles. Songstress. It had been a while since someone had called her by that particular title. The woman started circling her, and Moshi turns in that space, keeping her gaze on her. Hooking her fingers into her belt, she considers the options. After all, the woman was dangerous, but it seemed like she was curious for now. It was an interesting situation to be caught in. "He is startled by many things, so that is apropos, I suppose."

She brushes her fingers across the vials on her belt, feeling comforted by their presence if nothing else. Considering the answers she could give to why she was there, she smiles. "I am here to find you. After all, I was told that perhaps you needed my assistance." The turning was making her a little queasy. Perhaps there was a way to get the woman to hold still.

With a tilt of her head, she watches her, then speaks softly. "Are you alone here?" She needed to set up a laboratory. That was the first step. And knowing if there was anyone here would make sure that she knew what level of security she needed for her work. If it was like the Phantasia, she would need a lot more than Kent to keep prying eyes away.

For this woman was dangerous enough as it was.

The creature tilts her head to the side. Her black gaze goes back to the Songstress. The Temptress. The Assassin. The names flickered through her mind and she grins slowly. "I need no such thing." Assistance. Cereza was exactly as she had always been.

A scoff, and she tilts her head the other way, her circling stopping as she walks forward, stopping only a few bare inches from the woman. Alone? That question echoed. The little bugs in her brain didn't like that one. That question. A frown replaces the grin and she speaks slowly. "I am never alone, Lady Songstress. Not anymore." The giggles erupted, and she turns on her heel swiftly, moving towards the back of the room.

She touches the wall, feeling the cross beneath her fingers. Tracing the edges of it, she hums lightly, then giggles again. "Never alone since that day the angels died and the looking glass was sealed...." The words made no sense, but she repeated them often.

Whimpers escape, and she leans her head against the wall. Pain beneath her eyes. "She left. Alice left..." Something missing. The link. She couldn't feel it anymore. The creature scratches at the back of her neck and the scar there. Something missing.

The frown was instant on the woman's face. Waving one hand at Kent, she gestures towards the door before them. With a soft bow, he walks off, going to do what she needed him to do. He was a good assistant that way. They hardly needed to converse for him to know her mind. Moshi, tilting her head to the side again, walks towards the girl.

Alice. That was a familiar name. The healer at the Phantasia. "I am here now. And I shall stay here if that is all right?" She speaks softly, not wanting to startle the girl. She seemed unstable. It reminded her of someone.

The smile was easy, and she clasps her hands behind her. "I am going to set up a workstation inside. Is there a room that would work best?" Perhaps the girl would talk to her and regain a bit of her mind. Solitary people often had this problem, after all. And Moshi wasn't one to quit.

Looking around the room, she walks to the wall, her fingers drifting over the cross. It seemed strange to her that there would be so many on the walls. Like it was keeping something trapped inside. Though it wouldn't be the girl beside her, she was sure. Something else. Something darker. There was something on the edge of her mind.

She would have to talk to Sig about how long she would be here. There was no way she would bring the children here. It was too spooky. Kai would absolutely have nightmares. Cadence would be brave, but jumpy. She couldn't let that happen. I suppose we shall be apart for a while.....even though I have just returned to them.... A small frown drifted across her face. Maybe her first task would be a portal leading home.
