Many would speak of the mysterious castle at the edge of the woods,
but few would know what it stood for.
A few years back, people of the village nearby could have sworn that the old structure blew up.
Yet suddenly, it was brought back to life,
restored to it's previous glory.
In one night, all time would be reversed,
the castle resting in the middle of the lake,
it's front bridge extending to the forest beyond,
the castle reaching the sky in it's heights.

...Ladies and Gentlemen....the Ahlaevor Bar and inn...

The first floor is simply done with mahogany and pine, the floor polished and shone.
The seats are soft and comfortable, leaving nothing to be wanted.
Black and blue curtains line the walls and windows, keeping the warmth inside.
Not many would think that a castle would be cozy, but somehow, the Ahlaevor manages.
The staff keeps it clean and orderly.

Forest:
The forest surrounds the Ahlaevor Bar and Inn, leaving it in seclusion.
But it's placement in the woods gives it a welcome air for travelers.
The woods are dark, full of animals both strange, and normal.
The trees almost seem to move sometimes, giving the entire place a sort of creepy air as well.

Village:
The village is about two miles to the East of the Ahlaevor Bar and Inn.
It is a small village, with people who are very friendly until the sun sets.
Then, all strangers are left out for the night,
the doors of the village folk being locked and closed to all who aren't born in the village.
They direct all who stumble across the village to the Ahlaevor,
where they can stay for the night.

Lake:
The lake holds many secrets, and not many of them are talked about.
The water is clear and deep, almost clean enough to drink.
At the very edge of the Ahlaevor, however, it becomes most dangerous,
having a mysterious lady who lives in that area, claiming all that come too close to her underwater sanctuary.

Caves:
The caves are off to the West of the Ahlaevor, about a ten minute walk away.
They are extensive, and connect to the caves of the Musique Vivante.
A lot of the caves, however, have not been explored.

Clinic:
The clinic is a small building to the North of the Ahlaevor.
It seems to be abandoned,
but every so often, sounds of a battle may be heard from inside it's walls.
Strange lights sometimes flash in the distance.
There are many signs around the fence, warning off all trespassers.

It had been a long time since he had rested so very well.

A dark portal opens at the edge of the forest, and the chaos demon steps through. His hands in his pockets, his steps nonchalant. Silas had his normal uniform on. Black pants and shirt. White vest. Red scarf. Black sunglasses. Anymore, it's all he ever wore. Habitually. Shaking a cigarette from the crumpled pack he pulled from his pocket, he lights it and inhales slowly. The portal stayed open behind him, and he seemed to be waiting.

Waiting.

It's all he did lately. Red eyes with the whites turned black took in the castle before him. Trea had left the place in good shape. Which was nice to see, he supposed. The witch didn't do much else right. Snorting, he wanders a few steps forward, knowing that the explosion that was about to happen behind him wouldn't be the best of times.

After all, Rain held on to her anger like no other.

Licking his lips, he turns in place, watching the portal. She was taking a bit longer than he had expected. Did he lose her? A frown drifts across his expression, and he wonders for a minute. Walking through the shadows wasn't for everyone, after all.

It took a bit for the woman to come spilling out of the portal. All things considered, she hadn't been prepared for what Silas called 'Shadow walking'. She had expected a nice jaunt. Like a walkabout, but short.

Stumbling forward, she places her hands on her knees, wheezing. Silver hair fell around her face, the cut uneven, layers jagged around her face. Silver eyes fit to match without pupils glared at the man in front of her. "You unbelievable a*****e. You didn't tell me there was no air in there!" Taking another gasp of breath, she straightens, running one hand through her hair. "I could have died...." Hands on her hips, she focuses on breathing.

Today, she had on her black button up shirt, the sleeves rolled to her elbows. A pair of black slacks slung low on her hips, kept tight to her thighs by the gunbelts she seldom went without, with the twin pistols tied down. Her favorite comfort item. A single ring on her ring finger, and a locket around her neck.

Mostly, she wore anger.

Taking one more breath, she looks around where they were. The Ahlaevor. Trea's place. Wrinkling her nose, she looks to Silas. "So I said we needed to talk and this is where you chose?" The frown grows, and she looks around, crossing her arms across her chest, tapping her fingers.

Walking forward, she looks over the castle, then sighs. "I guess this place is as good as any." The memories that ran through her mind were disjointed. Frustrating. It's like her mind was resetting itself still. Alice's medicine only held her together so much.

Snorting as she chastises him, Silas shakes his head, blowing out smoke away from her. She sure was dramatic sometimes. Turning towards the castle, he speaks lightly.

"You wouldn't die."

Crouching down, he rests his arms on his knees, staring forward. His cigarette hung between his lips, there if he needed it, but not necessarily a part he wanted.

"So what's the sitch, Rainy days?"

It was blunt, but honestly Silas was tired still. Something about that injury had been harder to heal than he expected. Alice would be furious to find out that he had been hurt that bad and hadn't asked for help. But something about asking for her help was rough these days. Probably the fact that she still hated him.

At his words, she snorts. "You don't know." She may have very well not died. But he didn't have to be so sure about it all the time. Rain tucks hair behind her shoulder, then sighs and walks over, flopping to the ground beside him. Thank goodness we're not going inside. Wrapping her arms around her legs, she leans forward, getting comfortable.

After a moment of considering how to answer him, she begins. "Cereza came to the Phantasia. I know....I know you said she was coming, but I wasn't expecting it to be so bad." Her voice was soft, curious. After all, not a single part of her plans included the downfall of anyone. And there was a large piece of her concerned about one of her chess pieces.

With a sigh, she lays back, flopping her hands out to the side. "Is she like that because of how often she uses her powers?" It wasn't exactly the question she had wanted to start with, but it lingered in her mind. Where would she be without her doctor? Would the girl go insane before helping her get out of the stasis sickness? Groaning, Rain rubs her eyes.

"And also, ******** you for not telling me that you knew for a fact where Moshi was." Rain's mind was going too fast. There were too many memories in there, fighting for survival. Everything was just annoying at this point.

Cereza. That one was a problem. Silas sighs, pulling the cigarette from his lips and looking at the tip. Huffing out the smoke, he rubs his hand over his silver hair, rumpling it. If it had looked nice before, it definitely didn't now.

"Yea. That's exactly what I've been worried about with Alice. Kid'll lose her humanity much quicker than she thinks."

Flicking the cigarette away from him, sick of it, he falls back to a seated position, stretching out his legs, his hands behind him. Looking up at the sky, his sunglasses slipping down his nose a little, he speaks lightly.

"Luke'll kill me for it. If the b*****d is still breathing anyway."

Then, with a squint, he looks over at Rain. Guess the problem with having Cereza and Rain meet is Cereza didn't know the meaning of secret. Looking back to the sky, he takes in a breath, then releases it in a whoosh before speaking.

"I keep telling you I haven't seen her. Not that I don't know where she is."

Semantics. They kept him alive sometimes.

Rain grimaces at that. Maybe she had to rethink parts of her plan. That was an amount of side effect she wasn't ready to deal with. Placing her arm over her eyes to block out the sun, she sighs. When did everything get so complicated....? She was supposed to be dead. It wasn't supposed to be so complicated to be dead. Maybe this is the afterlife and I'm being tortured.... It was a helluva thought. Though she was pretty sure that the afterlife wouldn't hurt so much.

This body was weak.

Then, with a thought, she speaks softly. "Compromise. I wont take her off risky jobs. But I wont have her guarding the gate anymore." It wasn't a lot, but honestly, the talk she had with the girl made her realize that the risky jobs were necessary. Control was important to Alice, after all. "Keeping her as out of my business as I can will have to be enough, Silas." Rubbing her cheek, she sighs again. It was all too much sometimes.

Considering his words about Moshi, however, she frowns, lifting her arm and looking at him, aiming a kick at his butt. "You know I hate your semantics. Quit that." Then, sitting up, she hits his shoulder with the flat of her hand. "You're so ******** annoying, Silas." Shaking her hand afterward, as it had hurt, she glares at him.

Letting out an ack noise when she hits his butt, he then laughs at the shoulder slap. Looking over at her, he grins, unable to help it. She was so petty. Reaching into his pocket, he drags out that crumpled pack of cigarettes, placing one between his lips.

"Yea. I am annoying. But I am also one who knows how to keep a promise."

He speaks through it, then lights it, setting the crumpled pack beside him. He'd probably need another one soon enough. Looking at the sky, he sighs.

"I don't know if it'll be enough, Rain. She's on the edge all the time and she doesn't know it. I need to find a way for her to let out that magic without losing ground."

He breathes out the smoke, leaned back on one hand. Looking to the castle, he frowns. It may have been too late to be a father, but he wasn't going to stop trying at least. He knew what his mistakes were.

Rain lays back down, annoyed. Honestly, there was a lot to figure out. And the least of her problems seemed to be the most frustrating these days. Laying her arm back across her eyes, not liking how bright it was there, she huffs out a breath. "How about you figure that out first, and then we'll talk?" Alice wasn't going to be thrilled that the two of them were discussing her fate as it was.

Focusing back on the Moshi problem, Rain lets her mind drift. That string board in her mind seemed to move items and replace them, going over her plan over and over again until it made sense. With a groan, she speaks softly. "I hate that she made you promise that. It really puts a damper on the things I can do." She needed to get stronger. Faster. This body is weak.... The words echo in her mind and she lifts her arm, sitting up again.

Maybe what she really needed was fresh perspective. She needed another plotter to come into her office and not think she was insane. Maybe she was insane. Leaning forward, she pulls her knees to her chest, then rests her head on her knees. "Silas....I don't think I have enough information to protect us anymore. Don't tell anyone at home.....but I'm worried." It was a hard thing to admit.

Maybe her reputation wasn't enough anymore. Soon, people would come willing to test if the Rain of legend was still up to snuff. And she most definitely wasn't. She couldn't even hold her gun aloft without her arm trembling. Her muscles were still weak. Her constitution was bad.

She still wheezed after running.
