Lovas was definitely not an expert at the great myriad of technologies this planet offered. He couldn't recall any world he'd visited at any point in the past ever having something so convenient as a phone. You could practically just speak someone's name and relay whatever you needed to relay to them! Thaddeus said 'texts' were the most convenient, as you could take as long as you wanted to figure out what you needed to say, and there was a 'delete' to unsay something you'd said-

But that was too convoluted for Lovas' tastes, and he was not enthusiastic about this planet's written language system. He did think the voice transmission was very convenient.

His Senshi phone had a very limited list of contacts. Regal. Sawtooth. Mirosnjha. Zero. The people he lived with, of course. And a sparse selection of others. Alekto. Bacchus. Feronia. People he had gone out of his way to speak to and had spent at minimum a handful of minutes communing with.

There was also Dagon.

A woman he knew of because he'd been to her world, did what little he could to help her clear it of the rot that plagued so many worlds. His phone must have scanned her during that time, and since he'd wanted to speak with her, Thaddeus had helpfully suggested that he could just message her, if Lovas wanted her attention. He couldn't think of a reason why he shouldn't! So Thad helped him get to the function he wanted to use- to send a voice memo, and reminded him again that texting would probably be better...

But why would Lovas care about Thaddeus' suggestions, anyway.

He put his face very close to the receiver, and started, "Hi. I am Lovas. We have had no opportunity to meet properly, but I have been to your world and witnessed the wondrous effects of what those on Earth can accomplish when they work together to dispel the poison of Chaos. I wanted to talk to you earlier, to delve into your experiences on this world, but the time got away from me, and I have only thought of you from afar..."

A quiet little voice in the background mumbled something that sounded suspiciously like, "You sound a little like a creeper..."

"What-? Oh. Do I? Can you delete this one, and I will try again-"

"Lovas..."

"Fine. It is no matter. I have said exactly what I meant," he said matter-of-factly, voice still crackling with proximity to the phone. "I had hoped we might meet at last, and my- What are you? My retainer-"

"No."

"-has agreed to help me select some coordinates because I do not have a strong grip on the alphabet of this world- typing is very hard, you see. But there is a shop I like- There are coffee and cats! It's called Pawffee Shop and it's close to the campus-"

"You're rambling."

"And I would like to see you there, at perhaps six, on Wednesday? That's a reasonable time, isn't it? Yes, okay, thank you, and hope to see you soon!"

And with that message sent, Lovas- Iriel found himself headed in the shop's direction. He'd found a few flavored places among the many of Earth's options. This one was a little outdoor stand that seemed perfectly placed to be in the middle of a hoard of cats' territory. They were "friendly" and "not food," and the little shop had a bit of a reputation for donating a little of every purchase to fund TNR for the nearby clans.

It was one of Teyla's favorite shops, and so it had become one of Iriel's favorites too, by sheer familiarity.

The message from Lovas had been...interesting, to say the least. Dagon could not pretend she hadn't found some things about the world she found herself on a difficult adjustment, though,. and if Lovas wasn't yet used to the way one left messages in the modern day, that was an oddness she could forgive.

Yes, the message had been...loud. And interestingly phrased. But the core of it was that he had been one of the people who helped purge the choking Chaos from her world, and to Dagon, that meant more than any failing social graces. She'd seen worse, anyway.

Her response was simple, and a voice memo in case Lovas struggled with reading as well as typing:

"I would be glad to meet you, Lovas. I will be there. Look for a black and red plaid scarf secured by a brooch with an anchor and rose; it is quite unique."

Because she had it custom made by a jeweler, but that was extraneous.

She made it a point to always be early, and so she had arrived approximately ten minutes before their ascribed meeting time as Ophelia, to get a good look at the place they were meeting. It was...warm. These little cafes were so lovely, and this one catered to, it seemed, the cat enthusiast community--and Ophelia had come to feel that while Earth cats could not speak, as the Mauvians that looked so like them could, but that they were just as intelligent and worthy of respect, and so she was happy to be around them.

She found herself somewhere to sit, looking for someone who might be Lovas to no end--but she also likely stuck out, with the aforementioned scarf and brooch, never mind the fancy black dress she wore over thick stockings and boots. Hopefully she had given enough to be identifiable.

Noir Songbird

Upon his own arrival, Iriel didn't wait to make an order at the counter. Perusing menus and making a selection... well, that required a skill he didn't have, so he did what he always did when he visited a food shop and ordered two of "whatever you recommend." It had worked well so far, and he found that he was very, very infrequently offended by whatever selection was handed to him.

The young woman manning the register here did give him a particularly wary look, like she expected there was more to his order than random drink placement, but Iriel had turned from the counter quickly, glaze wandering over the sparse gathering of humans... It was an outdoor cafe in a particularly cold season... Consequently, there were few patrons. He spotted a lady with a black and red scarf sitting at a wrought iron table almost immediately, and he had to assume this was human-Dagon.

He gave her his brightest smile and a short wave before gesturing to the serving window in a 'just waiting for drinks' motion (it had been explained to him that as The Inviter, he should be prepared to but the drinks; ie, Regal should be prepared to buy the drinks). He hoped she liked whatever it was they were getting.

But the check-out lady was quick to return, offering him a quick description of what exactly was being served. White Chocolate Matcha Latte. And a small serving of treats for a creature called Butternut, who apparently really liked the smell of matcha and was almost certain to join them if they took a seat. Which was a surprising number of unfamiliar words, but Iriel thanked her all the same, paid, collected the cups in hand, and headed to where who he expected was human-Dagon was sitting.

He was still smiling quite widely as he approached, and it was only because he knew their Senshi names were supposed to be somewhat secret that he dropped his voice to a low rumble when he asked, "Dagon? I am Iriel. I was looking forward to meeting you properly. Oh, and this." He held out a cup to her. "Is for you. Thirsty?"
