On a lovely day, Lyrah was talking a nice leisurely walk. The trees were in full bloom, their leaves a lovely shade of green. The flowers were swaying in the breeze in all their dizzying colors and the delicious smells that tantalized the nose. The berry bushes were full of large, plump berries and Lyrah couldn't resist snacking on some. The deep purple ones were exceptionally sweet.
Everywhere around it seemed as if she had stepped into a world where everything was perfect. Nature seemed to be exquisite, fruit and vegetables that were within view were larger than normal. The flavor from the berries she ate still lingered as if she just ate them. The flowers seemed taller than they should be, the grass the color was more vibrant then normal at least to her, and the breeze felt gentler than ever before.
She felt as if she was in a dream world, but she was awake! She looked around with wonder, as things around her appeared to grow right before her eyes. Now she knew this was illogical, but her eyes saw and her thoughts were not agreeing.
Nothing was making sense and she felt like she was missing something. There didn't seem to be any danger, so she tried to relax. She felt like something was wrong, but what she had no idea. The area around her seemed normal enough, maybe she was imagining it.
There was a logical reason she just didn't know what it was. She kept walking enjoying the scenery when she saw a light purple/grey male on the side eating some of berries. She stopped and stared which she knew was rude, but she was surprised to find another here, this part of the woods was usually empty when she took her walks. She was not afraid just surprised.
Suddenly the male she was staring at looked up and saw her. He nodded and put his head back down to get more berries. How rude! she thought. She cleared her throat trying to gain the male's attention again, but he seemed content to eat the berries instead of talking to her.
She took a few steps forward and cleared her throat again. The male's head snapped up and he glared at her. "I am eating what do you want? Can you be any more rude lady?" with that he made a snapping sound with his teeth and returned to eating the juicy berries.
She was so shocked she stepped back for a few moments before composing herself. Her anger began to rise and she said to him in a raised voice "Rude? You were rude first, you completely ignored me! You evidently were raised in a barn, no manners at all!" her eyes blazed with anger.
The male in the middle of snagging a berry tilted his head to the side and chuckled loudly. He raised his head and looked at her. He just stared not saying a word. He had several thoughts running through his mind but wasn't sure which one to voice at that moment so he wanted to wait to see what she would say or do next. He found her entertaining to say the least.
He had a feeling staring at her would make her angrier, but he didn't care. She came along and interrupted his snack and then had the audacity to act like he had been rude to her. The unmitigated nerve of her. He then smiled; he couldn't help himself.
Her eyes widened this stubborn male had the nerve to smile at her. She was fuming from this. She shook her head in agitation and then spoke to him. "i see I was right you were raised in a barn! You are smug, arrogant, rude and overall lacking manners. You should be ashamed of yourself." she spoke in a loud, agitated tone. She was staring daggers at him.
Standing there with berry juice dripping down his mouth, smiling wide like a goofball he was stunned. This female was so agitated with him, and he had no clue as to why. All he was doing was eating a snack of berries when she interrupted him! This is one of the reasons he prefers to either be alone or with other males. Females are to easily agitated and their mood swings are so drastic. One moment their fine, next their angry, next their stomping off, the next they are screaming, next their throwing things and the next their crying. Nope he was not ready to deal with that, so he just kept to himself mostly. He was out on a walk enjoying the weather and then she came along and got mad at him for nothing at all.
He had enough of this nonsense and looked at her again. In a clear voice he said to her "Listen here lady I don't know what your problem is or why you are so angry with me, but you interrupted me. I was happily munching on a delicious snack, and you rudely interrupted me then had the nerve to act like I insulted you! I don't know you and quite frankly I don't want to. Now leave me alone!" with that he turned and left the small field moving towards town.
He picked up speed; he didn't want her following him. He had a funny feeling he would be seeing her again.
Lyrah was stunned at his words. This male had alot of nerve. She took off after him flat out running to catch him. She overtook him and cut him off. She stared at him and then all of a sudden, she laughed. She didn't know why either. She was laughing uncontrollably.
Xenith skidded to a stop and looked at her like she lost her mind. Then he too started laughing. He had tears in his eyes and his sides hurt but he kept laughing.
After they both stopped laughing, they shrugged at each other, and Lyrah noticed more berries tilted her head and walked over and began to snack. Xenith chuckled softly and joined her but before he took a berry said " I have a feeling this is the beginning of a friendship that will be something else entirely" with that he saw the surprise and hope flicker in her eyes, and she was looking at her.
He did notice a slight blush creep up her cheeks and that make him chuckle again.
