The weather is turning but mother nature has one last hurrah in store - it seems she has mustered up a blizzard that's blown down from the mountains and over the majority of the Kawani lands. This is highly unusual for this time of year, it seems winter was not ready to let go! How does your soquili fair in this blizzard? Do they see the signs early and manage to avoid it completely? Do they seek shelter in time and wait it out? Do they find themselves stranded and in danger? Do they fend for themselves or do they help others around them?

Write an RP responding to the above prompt telling us about how your soquili responds to this natural disaster! Should you meet the requirements, the spirits may send them something to keep them warm!

Marlowe had made the journey to visit some old friends far from his home. The weather was predicted to be reasonable until his return but unfortunately for him that was false. His visit had been a very pleasant one. He set out in the warmer months of the summer with the occasional warm breezes, smell of fruit in the air and the beautiful colors of the fauna that dotted the landscape.

He had thought he timed his return trip at the right time among the cooler breezes, the scent of cinnamon and nutmeg filling the air and of course the leaves dropping from their branches in a array of beautiful colors as the cooler weather of the autumn was beginning to abate to allow the colder, more frigid breeze of the winter months to settle in.

Unfortunately for him the colder weather came sooner than expected and now he was stuck out in it as he travelled home. He was still at least 2 weeks out from his land and with this weather it would add a minimum of a week maybe more.

Straining to see the road in front of him, the snow swirled like flies around fruit, and it was thick. It stung his eyes causing them to water. Which ran down his face and froze making him colder than before. Shaking his head in agitation he looked around trying to locate a shelter, any shelter would do. As long as it would protect him and keep him out of the wind for the most part, he would be safe.

The landscape around his was glistening white, with an occasional dot of brown. No matter which direction he turned there was nothing, he had no choice but to continue in the direction he had been traveling hoping to find somewhere he can rest and get out of the weather.

He remembered he had a hooded cloak in his bag; he found it quickly and placed it on. The warmth was welcome and the hood provided some protection for his eyes against the stinging snow that was pelting him. Sighing in relief he moved a bit faster, determination settling over him to get out of this ghastly weather.

Walking for what seemed an eternity he saw something brown against the stark white landscape, the closer he got the more he was able to see. The brown turned out to be a small shack of some sort, no light was shining through the window, and it looked abandoned. Quickening his steps, he moved towards the front door and pushed. The door seemed to be locked or stuck. After a bit of maneuvering, he had the door open and a rush of stale, cold air assailed his nose. He sneezed a few times before shaking his head. He then stepped inside leaving the door ajar to air the small room out.

Looking around he saw a small shelter that was not fit for permanent living but would do for temporary shelter. The previous occupant had stored some wood for a fire in the corner, and he noticed a tarp outside, and his assumption is more firewood await to be used. He checked over each corner and discovered some food supplies, fire supplies, rope, tools and other items he would need to survive here for a period of time.

His first task was to get a warm fire going, then to make a clean spot in front of it to lay down. He needed rest, but also food. He moved some firewood to the pit and arranged it, so the smaller pieces were on top. He checked the chimney to make sure it was clear of debris so it could be lit. The matches were sitting on top of the fireplace, and he lit the kindling and it didn't take long for a warm fire to be blazing. Next task was food, he was starving. He decided to heat up some of the stew his friend had packed for him. It would be quick and filling. Realizing he needed to clean out the pot, he went outside quickly and used the snow to clean it out. Satisfied it was clean he turned, shook himself so he wouldn't track snow inside and settled the heavy pot above the fire on the heavy metal hook. The stew was placed inside, and he stirred every few minutes until it was warm. He put some bread near the fire on a small plate to heat up without being in the fire or on top directly.

He had fresh water that he carried and decided to drink that instead of making tea. He wasn't in the mood to mess with that right now. All he wanted was hot food, drink and then sleep.

Eating quickly as he could since it was hot, he decided to leave the dishes until after his rest. He could feel his eyes getting heavier with each minute that passed. He got himself comfortable as he had laid down a mat before eating. The dishes he put near the window and would tend to them when he awoke. He had already locked the door, made sure it was secure, checked the windows and made sure they were all latched and closed the shutters on the inside. He placed a few more pieces of wood on the fire and settled down for rest.

When he awoke, the sun was beginning to rise in the sky. He was shocked as he had slept from early evening the night before and all night! He knew he was exhausted but didn't realize how badly until that sleep claimed him.

He figured he would be here approximately 2 to 4 weeks before the weather would clear enough for him to move on and head home. He liked solitude and he knew here he would get plenty of it.

He made a list of his supplies and now long it should last him. He knew he would have to ration some of it but the majority would hold him until he returned home. There was some food here, but he didn't want to take to much as someone was kind enough to have food and supplies stocked here so he wanted to return that generosity to the next who needed to take refuge here.

He now knew where this shack was located and when the weather was nice, he would travel back here with plenty of supplies to replenish what he used. He was not the type to take without giving back.

Now to wait out the weather and return home.
