Castiel is with his mother Wisp as they are heading out to find any lost souls in order to guide them home. This is what they do as a family every new year. Normally they do this as a whole family but Akira and Sato are with them but they are doing this act in the areas that they are in at the moment. This is something that their mother has been doing since she was a young filly and taught them to do it as well when they were foals. It is more of a tradition than a ceremony and there is never a promise to change or anything at the start of the year. Just them going out to guide the souls of the lost to be found. Looking over at his mother as they both ready their lanterns and head out looking for the lost. The snow is falling and the wind blows making it look eerie and mystic all at once. There is nothing more than making sure everyone is found and with family no matter what time of year but the start of the year is the best to make sure no one is lonely.
He stretches as he starts to walk off with his mother. They stay together just in case the storm gets worse. The wind and snow isn't bad so being able to see is still a thing. The lanterns are nice and bright in the darkness as they start this before the sun comes out. Setting his lantern on his back as he looks at his mother. "So how far are we scanning for the lost?" He wonders as he takes the lantern back into his mouth as they continue to look for anyone looking lost. As snow falls and covers his back he lets that chill there and does not shake it off as it blocks the wind a bit even if the wind is a small roar. Stretching out his wings to give his mother cover as they continue to walk the area but so far there are no sightings of lost souls which is a good thing. Makes this a better day after all it breaks his heart to find anyone who is lost.
