Write an RP responding to the above prompt. Your soquili should acknowledge the fact that it is a New Year - how they react to that is up to you.

Ah winter, the time of year when the snow blankets the grounds and around the time Soquili gather with loved ones, for warmth, happiness and a nice warm drink.

It was Citrus who was first to speak up around his mate, Oldwen. As Citrus’ shivered, still not a fan of the cold. “I’ll never get used to this. It’s always nippy, and dries my throat out in the mornings.”

Oldwen couldn’t help but chuckle at his mate, Citrus. “You know If you stayed closer to me, You wouldn’t need to worry too much about the cold at night. You know I enjoy your snuggles.” A grin crossed his lips as Oldwen made his way over to his mate, Citrus. Wrapping his tail around his mate's leg as he leaned up next to him, snuggling his nose.

Citrus couldn’t help but blush and feel rather foolish for even complaining. Oldwen was always if not usually right when it came to these things, and Citrus usually was more of the foolish and playful type too. It was Oldwen who was more of an adult and wise. “Alright, let us snuggle tonight, but I want to try and see more of why the winter snow doesn’t bother you in the morning. Hey! Maybe we can make some traditions together and when we have little ones we can pass it down to them too. That would be nice. A large family and so many wonderful traditional memories.”

Oldwen gave a nod in agreement as a light blush crossed his face when Citrus mentioned a family and children someday. “I would very much like that. But for now let us rest and after we can start on some traditions.”

By the next morning, it was Oldwen who was the early bird, popping his neck as he looked down to his make, Citrus. Smiling as he watched the drooling beauty all curled up tight against him. Wrapping his tail around once more he let his mate sleep a little longer as his claw found the nearest book to move closer, reading the text as he continued to study about the Soquili lands.

It would be a few more hours before Citrus woke, smacking his dry mouth as a grumpy face came to be. Though he didn’t complain this time as he was warm the entire night and quite comfy. “Good Morning.” He managed to say within a waking yawn.

“Good Afternoon.” Oldwen responded yet corrected. “The sun is high and it’s quite nice outside. You should take a stretch.”

“What? Afternoon? Oh no, that takes a good part of the day away.” There was that whine from Citrus as he got up, stretching alongside Oldwen. “Let us get these traditions started.” He stood ever so ready and now excited.

A chuckle came from Oldwen as he agreed, taking the first steps out in the snow, using his tail feathers to scoop up snow before filing it onto Citrus.

“Ah! I’m already awake!” Citrus jumped but laughed in fun as he was ready and dodged the second one.”This is a great way to start traditions, with some snow games!” He beamed as he galloped out to the field before flopping to the deeper snow, rolling around in it, taking a bite out of some to wet his throat.

Oldwen watched as his mate had fun in the snow, already thinking of some traditions at their home they could do inside as well. Like reading wonderful winter stories, making sure enough winter treats were saved up all winter for a nice and enjoyable snack. The future warm cuddles together. It all brought more warmth in his heart.

On the other hand it was Citrus already planning fun adventures. Like licking icicles, Snow fights, snow angels and maybe even pushing enough snow together to dive in all the soft yet cold piles. He never knew snow could be so fun, but most of all, so warm and comfortable with his mate, Oldwen. He was ever so grateful for his mate. From the wonderful advice to the love, understanding, patience and attention that was given each and every day. Oldwen is and will forever be his world. A smile crossed his face as he looked back at Oldwen, spotting his mate smiling as he looked back at him. Surely they both felt the same for each other, which made them the perfect pair.

Surely the future and traditions to come will be filled with love, comfort and hope for each and every season to come and they both have each other to lean on through the good and bad times. What a wonderful start to a New Year.
