Quote:
Biting Chill ( 18 ) : The cold is strangely harsh, and even the still wind is vicious enough to sting. But the cold isn't the worst part of tonight--it's what comes with it. Out of a swirl of blowing snow, a massive, wispy wolf takes shape, enormous and snarling, with fur spiked like jagged icicles. Its eyes glow with a cold, wild intelligence, and before you can even react, it lunges as though you’ve trespassed deep into its territory. Every strike it makes feels like the bite of winter itself. Wherever its claws slash, wherever its jaws snap, frost cakes over. Even if you're lucky enough not to take massive damage, the cold seeps bone deep. When you manage to land a hit, the creature bleeds a strange, clear blood--icy water that freezes instantly into slush on the ground. The more damage it takes, the more its form flickers, shredded like wind-torn snow. The wolf fights with the relentless instinct of a dire beast, but it is not invulnerable. It will never run. It will fight until its body is broken and flickering, then--finally--a sudden gust will rip through the air and carry its dissolving body away. Howls echo on the wind. The rest of its pack probably isn't too far behind.

Note: This strange wolf is not a youma but can be used as a battle requirement for a character. It can only be used as a battle if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered to meet battle requirements. You can use the prompt for as many characters as you like and it will count as a battle requirement, however if you repeat the prompt with the same character, only the first time will be usable as a battle.

Polarite was wandering, looking for trouble, when the wind started picking up more. Cold wasn't his favorite feeling, but Noa had wanted to stay at home with the twins and Ainsley tonight. Which meant Polarite was out gathering energy and starseeds alone tonight. He could feel an Order signature ahead and grinned but before he could pick up his pace to catch them a strong wind blew, kicking up a bunch of ********,” he cursed and bundled up in his coat more. Damn, he was glad his uniform was made for winter. Come summer he would be mad about it but it was nice now. He almost missed it, the shape forming out of the snow, but then he heard the snarling and whipped his head back to see the enormous wolf made out of wind and snow. “********,” he cursed again and started to back away. He hated these damn things. Last time it was a chicken, this time it was a wolf. Great. He manifested his weapon and threw it at the wolf. It dodged, but he still caught it by the flank causing a strange clear fluid to leak from the creature. These things were so damned weird.

Aaru was only out because he was feeling restless.

Otherwise he would be cuddled up to his husband with his children climbing all over them. With a sigh, he walked towards the chaos signature he was feeling, summoning his weapon while whistling a soft tune. He could hear some cursing followed by howling and really decided to walk slower, coming across a familiar looking agent fighting off a wolf. “Interesting…Seems like you traded a toy hammer for the real deal yeah?” The little negaverser was growing up it seemed. “Need help? Or can I go grab some popcorn?” His outfit kept him warm as well as the heating bags he kept on his person so he wasn't overly worried about the biting chill.

The wolf tried to attack him but he was able to step to one side and out of the way of its claws and teeth. And that was when he saw the Knight. “******** sake,” he grumbled, keeping an eye on the wolf while he looked at Aaru. “Yeah, well. The toy wasn’t doing the job.” The wolf moved again, but Polarite punched it in the nose causing it to yelp and shake its head. His fist felt like he stuck it in ice water until he lost feeling.

“Help with this hijo de puta would be nice,” he drawled sarcastically. Not that he expected actual help from the Knight. In fact, he wouldn’t be surprised if the a*****e helped the wolf attack him. Just in case, he manifested his weapon back in his hand.

He could be a d**k….

He could use his hallucination magic….

But, Aaru was feeling generous.

Which is why he started swinging his skull bora as he got closer to the wolf, bringing his arm up in an under swing, the skull knocking into the wolf’s lower jaw. The thing about his weapon is the fact that he doesn't have to touch a target to land a hit. The wolf yelped and backed up a bit, to which Aaru moved forward aiming a kick for it's face as well with the tip of his boot. If the agent wanted to help out that would be nice, otherwise he was expecting a hammer to the back.

And then he wouldn't be so generous anymore.

Huh. So he wanted to be decent this time. Cool. Polarite moved behind the wolf while Aaru had it distracted and slammed his hammer into its flank. It seemed to flicker once, maybe it wouldn’t be too hard to beat with both of them. That chicken had been pretty easy too, with him and Villon ganging up on it. Not that he trusted that Knight as far as he could throw him, so he made sure to keep an eye on the other man while they fought the wolf. He had the feeling that once this wolf was gone, he would have another battle on his hands.

Noting that the agent was going to cooperate, Aaru continued to help him, watching as the wolf started to flicker a little. All he had to do was keep kicking and using his weapon and the thing should be dead within the next couple of minutes. Depending on how the agent acted, he would either have a battle, or he would have some sort of weird temporary truce. Either way, he was prepared.

As the wolf crouched to lunge at Aaru, Polarite used his hammer to sweep the creature’s legs out from beneath it and followed it with another blow to its flank. That hip joint was probably feeling pretty bad by now. It was flickering more now, which probably meant that it was close to being dead. Or whatever passed for dead with these kinds of creatures. Sometimes he wondered if there were other places that dealt with this crap or if it was just Destiny City.

Aaru jumped back just as the wolf was getting ready to lunge, walking forward after the agent had hit it in the flank, slamming his boot into the front of it's muzzle. Apparently, that did it since the wolf yelped and faded with a howl of pain. Tilting his head, he stared at where the wolf was for a bit then looked at the agent. “Gonna attack me or can we call it a day? Kinda wanna get laid before the night is up you know?” Of course Ryan was mostly ready at any point during the day but he did like having their adult time at night when the kids were asleep and there was less chance for interruptions in the form of his sons. Livi wasn't very keen on trying to wake up her fathers in the middle of the night like Nicky and Emorali were.

Although he was sure his youngest did it on purpose…That kid could be downright mean whenever he wanted to be.

Polarite relaxed as the wolf faded entirely, then snorted at Aaru’s question. “Let’s call it a day,” he agreed. If he were honest… getting laid sounded like the best kind of plan. “Til next time, capullo.* With that, he turned and left.

*capullo = a*****e

Oh nice!

Apparently the agent could understand the importance of getting laid….Hmmmn…He might not he so bad after all, but that didn't mean jack s**t when it came to this war sadly. “Sure thing.” He rolled his eyes at the word he didn't understand and turned around to walk away, figuring he had at least a half hour before Ryan started worrying. He hated lying to his husband but secrecy and all…Plus he was bound to have late nights at work anyway given the fact that he was now president of the very same company his father started before he was born. Ugh, he wished Damien took their old man up on his offer for him to be president instead, but he could understand why he turned it down.

He wouldnt take anything from his Goldman if he left his mother to die as well.

They have since made peace but he can still hear the hostility in Damien's voice every now and then.
