They’re small, rarely larger than a guinea pig, and have large eyes and wiggling noses. They are always pure white and seem to show up whenever there’s snow. They aren't menacing or evil, they're just everywhere. They seem strangely domesticated; they are sweet, curious, and friendly creatures that will eat anything you give them. They always seem cold to the touch, and when they shake, little snowflakes sprinkle off of them. While they seem to be social creatures who seem to appreciate anything warm and will cuddle up to steal body heat, they are too skittish and fast to be kept for pets. They can show up just about anywhere, either alone or--often--in pairs. They tend to wander off on their own without any trouble, but if you surprise them or try to catch or hurt them, they may bite. Their little teeth are enough to break skin, but after one bite they run away. The bite itself isn’t bad, but the effects are a bit unpleasant: for roughly two days after the bite, the injury is cold and the victim will feel random, cold, shooting pains. Their core body temperature will drop and they will often be sent into random fits of shivering. No medicine seems to help, and no amount of blankets or hot baths can soothe the chill. You're just going to have to deal with it and hope it gets better… Most experiences with the bunnies are perfectly pleasant, you just have to worry about them burrowing. There are holes peppering Destiny City, and with the fresh fallen snow it can be impossible to tell where they are hiding. The holes range from small holes to several feet deep, so can be a minor inconvenience to a potential hazard. On the bright side, sometimes you wind up covered in bunnies looking for warmth from their sudden guest. On the other hand, there are a rising number of trips to the hospital for twists and sprains. The bunnies always leave with the snow, so best to enjoy them--or avoid them--for as long as you can. Kioshi had done a lot of decorating since moving in, most of it done on move in day, but his home felt like his and was well lived in already. With the amount of time, energy, and money he’d put into Christmas decorating the house felt even better. The house felt like a home and it felt warm, comfortable, and like it belonged to him more than it already had. It was a place to relax and recharge, something he needed with everything he’d taken on this year. This was all good, really good, but there was one thing he had not worked on - the backyard. The backyard had been untouched by him and that was, in part, because he didn’t think he needed to worry about it. There weren’t any trees - it was too small for that. There was a small bush, or two, one of them was a holly bush while the other was some sort of unknown bush. But while looking out into the backyard, and wondering if he should do anything this spring, he spotted a bunny rabbit. The snow made it hard to see, he didn’t even realize it was there till it moved, but when he saw it Kioshi was moving in order to open the backdoor and peek out at it. “Rabbit…” Curious, not knowing what to think of it, hadn’t he heard about rabbits this time of year? He hadn’t encountered any winter rabbits, though he had heard about them, he’d forgotten about them once winter was over last year. Seeing as he’d gotten lucky he’d forgotten that they were an issue. Seeing as he couldn’t remember for certain if they were an issue, and maybe they were just something which appeared but weren’t dangerous, he went back into the kitchen in order to get them something to eat. The back door left open a crack, despite the cold and the wind, while he went looking for some vegetables.

There were so many things around the home that Omen found both fascinating and annoying, but as something moved outside, his attention was diverted from the blinking lights that he wanted to swat down. Since things had been left to their own devices outside, he hadn't been allowed to poke into it much, not that he particularly wanted to get his fur all messed up and dirty. But with Kioshi having opened the door, he took his chance to squeeze out through the opening and pounce out into the snow. It was cold, super cold, and he tried to hop instead of walking through it towards the movement he'd seen. Then he saw the thing, at least one at first, though the bush moved more after the first puff of white hopped forward. His eyes narrowed, and he got in hunting position, his tail and butt wiggling as he prepared to pounce on the thing. "Dinner...."

Coming back to the back door, a small bag of carrots in hand, he was surprised to see Omen outside attempting to hop through the snow. For a moment he felt like hitting his forehead, because of course Omen was outside in the snow hopping through it like an idiot, he'd complain about freezing later...once he'd gotten back inside. Opening the door further, slippered feet stepped out onto the top step, as he considered just how cold it would be to step into the snow. He'd also ruin the slippers, they were indoor slippers, they weren't made for snow and getting wet. As he considered, and weighed, options it seemed Omen had decided he was going to kill a rabbit.
Without a moment more of thinking Kioshi stepped into the snow, shivering he wanted to yank his foot back. Instead of pulling his foot free, and walking right back inside, he went to get the mauvian. "That's not food, that's a rabbit." And he didn't think his neighbors would appreciate the sounds of a rabbit being killed in his backyard. Not to mention the red that would be smeared across the snow, and whatever other mess Omen would make.
"Don't I feed you enough already?" Did he really need to go for a rabbit? While it might make a decent meal it would be loud, messy, and he'd have to clean Omen after it. There was no way that cat wouldn't be a mess from such an incident, and he'd need a bath, he wasn't washing him just because he'd decided a rabbit was on the menu for today. What he didn't say was that the rabbit was also rather cute, soft looking, and he didn't like the idea of it being killed and hearing it scream. There were certain things he was sensitive to, thus avoided, and the idea of animals being hurt and killed...that was one of those things. He had no issue eating fish, a lot of fish, and meat but he couldn't think about how they got to his plate. It wasn't enough to make him turn down a steak but....it would bother him still, this was why he avoided emotional nonsense and bullshit.

Startling, Omen missed when he pounced, the ball of white fluff hopping over him and two more popping out of the bushes. He looked back at Kioshi and flicked his ears back. "But but!" Whining as Kioshi approached and the rabbits stayed right out of swiping range, his tail swished and bapped against them. "Better than the toy, plus you said I need to get better at fighting, and these move back!" The tinfoil balls didn't fight, and all those mean monsters fought, so he didn't understand the issue here. So he grumbled and wiggled while they had treats for the creatures.

Bending in order to offer some carrots to the bunnies, trying to ignore the snow which slipped into his shoes, his eyes turned to Omen. "I'm aware, and I do want you to train and get better." Because he was a mauvian and someone would decide to target him in a fight, he knew he'd target an order serving mauvian if given the chance, so it was best Omen know how to handle himself. There were also youma which did not like mauvians, or corrupt senshi like himself.
"I just have a bad feeling about using them as a target." Though they were cute, and certainly looked harmless as they nibbled on carrots, he knew better when it came to this city and this time of year. Should he really just let Omen bat at the bunnies and see what happened? He'd already gone through the gameboard, and he'd warned him about winter time, maybe he should allow it and figure if something happened it was a lesson learned? It also would get him a bit more used to the effects of magic which he might, in the future, need to deal with due to some senshi or knight.
"I have other toys, better ones, ordered for you - for Christmas." Because Christmas was about giving gifts and showing her cared. It was why he'd been getting things for Omen and Lorcan, he was still waiting for a particular package for Lorcan to arrive. "But....if you want - go ahead." He'd learn, and it would give some practice as well he supposed. He'd handle whatver happened, as he was certain something would, there was no way these cute rabbits were just what they appeared to be and nothing more.

Hunkering back down, he watched as the rabbits ate the offered carrots. The group of four eyeing him while trying to bump into Kioshi's hand and steal more of the veggies. Then another one hopped out of the bush right next to him, and he swatted at it before he'd gotten the go-ahead. "No you don't!" Hissing as it startled him, he then felt a n** and bapped at the thing a few times before it hopped away wholly unbothered by his attempt. The others hopped back as well, giving him space as his tail flicked and he growled, displeased by getting bitten by an overgrown cotton ball. Sneezing, he felt a sharp stab of ice in his side and yowled before scooting back and flopping inside and onto the floor. "Cold...." Well, whatever that cotton ball was, they were on the bad list, and he just lay on the floor as he shivered. At least he wasn't wet this time, but he still didn't like it.

While Omen decided to continue his persuit of the bunnies, he did look amusing when wiggling his butt like that, Kioshi continued to feet the rabbits who were more than happy to take the carrots from him. It also seemed they might themselves be cold, aside from how cold they felt, as one seemed to want to huddle in closer to him. These rabbits were cute and apparently fiesty, as Omen found out and Kioshi got to witness.
"Looks like they aren't going to take your nonsense." Even as his mauvian hit it a few more times, not that it seemed to achieve anything, sighing as the bunnies moved away from them both he stood slowly. Dumping the rest of the carrots out onto the snow, so they could grab them when they felt safe again. The shock that went through him at Omen's pain, apparently caused by a sneeze, he followed him inside and shut and locked the door. "
"You want a hot bath and then some blankets?" Maybe he should get him a heated bed? He'd been considering it but he'd read an article about how cats would dehydrate themselves by not wanting to leave such heated beds. While Omen was a mauvian, and smarter than the average cat, he still wasn't sure Omen would get up to eat and drink...despite how food motivated he was. "You can have a bunch of pillows as well."
