As much as he wanted to, he couldn't tell his boss to ******** off, so Zayaan found himself walking down a snowy path in the park, with a winter coat, scarf, snow boots, and gloves on. He didn't do this often and it showed on his face. He could be back in the office working on his notes, going over diagnoses of his patients...There was a side of him that wanted to transform and just go to his wonder, but he found that he just couldn't.
Maybe there was a limitation on how many times he could go? That would be fairly aggravating.
He watched as his breath puffed out into the cold air, thoughts drifting to Micah. The more...Uncivilized part of his brain was telling him to go find her, see her, make sure she was doing okay, or see if she wanted to do something [if she wanted to do HIM], but he kept that stupid monkey brain in check. God, he hated losing control over any part of his person, including his thoughts. He was technically on a break right now, and he was sure Micah was out working, something he should be doing but unfortunately his boss thought otherwise.
If he had the patience, he would just open up his own practice.

She had actually laughed when she heard that Zayaan had been effectively forced to take a day.
Micah was cutting across the park through the usual shortcut, a more than amused little grin on her face as she went. Not that she was any authority on when it was time to take a break, but she seemed to do a better job at making her boss think she had a balanced enough life. She was as much a workaholic as he was, of course, but unlike him she enjoyed doing work at home just as much as she did while actually at work. What she could take home she did, that way her boss didn't think all she did was work and therefore could find grounds to tell her to calm the ******** down (with more professional words, of course), go home, and take a break.
"He's probably losing his mind," she said, smirking as she pulled her phone out to call him. She spotted a familiar head not too far ahead of her, though, and put her phone away again before jogging toward him.
"Zayaan," she called, hints of laughter in her tone of voice. The amusement at his predicament softened her expression, making it a bit brighter than it usually was. "Really? This is the best you can do to stay away from work?"

Was Micah reading his thoughts or something?
Well, no...He knew that.
It was just weird for him to think about her and she calls first and then just instantly shows up right in front of him. Giving her a look at the mentioning of his full first name, Zay continued to walk in the same direction, which would take him to Micah. "Its not like I want to go home Micah." He should have taken his laptop with him, which meant that he would be going back to take it home with him. But for now, walking in the park is indeed all he could think of. "What are you doing out here?" His tone was a bit softer as well, pink eyes less hard now that it was just the two of them.

"Heading home," she answered simply, still smiling as they walked toward each other and eventually fell in step. "Unless you've got other plans. I've got tomorrow and the day after so I can get ready for that big presentation." She wasn't one to get nervous or take extensive amounts of time off for that kind of thing, but timing it during the holidays forced her hand. Her attending had left it entirely to her, so she was taking the time just in case. Cover her bases, that sort of thing.
Purple eyes roved over his figure and she quirked a brow.
"No bag means no laptop," she started to say, then stopped walking and took his arm, turning him to see if she might have missed something. "No laptop means you're actually not gonna work at home?"
Micah was grinning again. "Never thought I'd see th–"
A snowball hit her hard, right in her ear, and cut her off. Had her ears not started ringing she would have whirled on whoever it was so fast. As it was, she shut her eyes and held a hand to her ear instead, willing the pain down and trying to focus.

He frowned when Micah pointed out that he had no bag with him, further reminding Zayaan of the fact that he wasn't able to retrive it. Their boss decided to keep it from him now that he remembered properly. "Your boss decided she would keep it to make sure I 'took a break'" as if he needed it. "If I could work from home I would." He fell instep with her and started walking in the same direction, raising an eyebrow at the grin she was giving him. Forever a gremlin, he was sure Micah was going to say something smart and he was already thinking up a way to get past it when he saw a snow ball literally come out of nowhere to hit her on the right side of her face.
He didn't think, he just rushed to grab her, holding her steady: "Micah? Can you hear out of that ear?" He wasn't sure if she would have a concussion, but he was ready to help her deal with it at the hospital if need be. Zayaan looked around to see who the hell threw that when a snow ball slammed so hard into the back of his head that he stumbled forward with his arm around Micah. His vision was a bit funny and his glasses fell on the ground due to the impact.
What the ******** tried looking around for the assailant, but couldn't exactly see much given the state of his vision.

She didn't get a chance to answer when she staggered forward, being taken along with him because he had wrapped his arm around her before, she guessed, getting hit with a snowball, too.
"I'm fine," she said, stooping down to grab his glasses before one of them stepped on them.
Glancing around, she didn't see anyone or anything—it could have been a youma for all either of them knew—but rather than let the irritation get to her, she just sighed and dusted off her ear and the side of her head. She dusted off the back of his head, too, where the snowball likely hit, before handing him his glasses.
"Either they ran off," she said, "or they're reloading. I don't really wanna stick around to find out, so how about we just get the hell outta here?"
