Liam now had an idea of what his spouse had been up to, and when he thought about it he wasn’t overly surprised, the fact his spouse was trekking about space did not surprise him. Aloysius had seemed interested in space for a long time, and that mirror in the hall of mirrors had certainly captivated him, he should have suspected something though even if he had Liam wasn’t sure it would have been what was actually going on.
While standing in the kitchen, taking a break from work, Liam was working on cooking himself lunch as he considered the places his spouse had seen in space and where he was planning to go. Space had never been a place he needed to see, though he had been up in space all of once, it wasn’t a place he’d go risking himself to see. It was something denied to mirror senshi and he’d long ago accepted that, it simply was what it was, there was no reason to go seeking what wasn’t his to have. It was a simple concept for him, nothing to be bothered about, but his spouse was curious and was looking for some sort of answers and information. He could only hope he’d find what he was looking for, and that he’d get told all about it.
Humming to himself, a song his father had taught him recently, the blond had a hand in a pocket while stirring the food he was working on. It was raining out again, the pitter patter on the window going from hard to light as the rain eased for the time being. All day it had been like this…he’d almost prefer snow to this cold, wet, miserable weather.

Agatha knew that Aloysius was gone for the day, having seen his car leave much earlier in the morning. It meant that she could look around a bit more in the manor without bumping into the man. The smell of food was the deciding factor, though, the smell making her stomach growl even as she found herself deep in a book.
Setting it down flat so she wouldn’t lose her place, she got up and took a quick look in the mirror. Even here, where it was considered one of her homes, she felt best with that glamor changing her appearance. It was fascinating and left her taking extra time to tie her hair up each morning into a neat and tight bun atop her head.
With the same level of care given in her outfit, she finally stepped out of her room and walked down the hall towards the main area and kitchen. It was quiet aside from some sort of melody the blond was humming, one she didn’t exactly know but had heard at least once or twice. At first, she didn’t bother disturbing him, simply sitting at the kitchen table and watching for a moment as he worked on cooking something. There was another man, similar to the blond but older, but he wasn’t here today. The older man was ignorant of everything magical, something she found surprising in a way. It also had her partially curious how they managed to explain away certain things, but that felt like something she didn’t want to get terribly involved in either.
Thinking on it for a moment, she shifted and rested her chin on her palm as she watched Liam for another few seconds before finally speaking. “Will there be enough to share?” she asked. While it might have been sharper if she’d asked someone else, it was said with more curiosity than anything else when speaking to the blond.

Startled, the blond turned wide eyes towards Agatha and after a moment's hesitation he nodded his head. “I always make extra.” Sometimes to pack up for a later meal, or something for the next day, or so Aloysius could have some when he got home from work. There was always a reason to have some extra in the fridge. “I’m just about done so I’ll make you a plate as well.” That said he moved to go and get another plate down from a cabinet, where he’d gotten his before. “How are you doing today?” Because he asked her the first time he saw her each day,, he wanted to know if he could help her, he knew it couldn’t be easy getting used to a whole new planet and everything it entailed. If he could help her, even a little, he wanted to do so and he wanted to make sure she had nothing but good days.
“Do you want a cup of tea as well? Or I can make hot chocolate if you’d like to try that instead.” He was fairly certain she’d not tried hot chocolate yet, and what a shame that was, it was something he thought should change. Even if she didn’t like it at least she would have tried it at least once - a new experience. Already he was going for a cup, and a mug just incase, he wasn’t sure which she’d pick but he would be ready. Setting the plate down, next to his own, on the counter top Liam went to finishing what he’d been making for himself and started spooning food out onto both plates. Pasta, done in the pan, with sauce, mushrooms and chicken in a very nice garlic sauce.

“Thank you, I could smell it from my room, and I thought I might see if I could join you for lunch.” Watching as they busied themself with getting things set up and ready for lunch, Agatha had to think a bit on their questions. Every day they asked the first one about how she was, and every day she found it hard to answer.
“Alright enough,” she answered after mulling it over. Looking over at the cabinet, she nodded. “What’s hot chocolate? Is it like those bars I saw on the counter a few days back?” Some sort of sweet snack, she’d seen the other man, the liar, snacking on them before while making things in the oven.
Watching Liam work was fascinating, though. It smelled good, though she couldn’t place it as something she’d had before. Every time they made something, it was a new experience for her, and she found it pleasant enough to not mind that they asked questions. At least the questions Liam asked were more about her well-being than what she might know. By now, she was starting to get a semblance of understanding of time again, something that had eluded her for months, according to the other.
“Pasta, it seems that you tend to make that a lot. Is it because it’s easy, or is it something from where you’re from?” She’d gathered enough that there were plenty of different styles of food here on Earth, even if she wasn’t sure if she’d tried much of anything before. From what scattered moments she could place, it seemed like food hadn’t been as varied back then as it was now.

“Yes, only it is a liquid. You can add some milk to it or marshmallows. I can set things up and let you try things, see what you like.” Because he liked helping someone try new foods and drinks, something he’d enjoyed doing once out of the orphanage. “I can make tea as well, just incase you don’t like the hot chocolate.” Because it would be best he have something for her to drink which she liked, and have it already done so she needn’t wait.
“Certain foods, like pasta, are the predominant foods in certain countries. I don’t know how it is in space, I imagine it’s different for each planet, but each is broken up into many countries and each has its own language, culture and foods. Pasta is common in Italy and Aloysius’ family is from Italy and the man you see around here is my father - he too is from Italy. Making me half Italian. I’ve gotten into eating pasta more since dating Aloysius but now I enjoy cooking recipes my father has shown me. You’ll find some countries are known for spicy food, seafood, pasta dishes, noodles that aren’t pasta but are still a noodle. Different flavors for different countries. I like to try lots of foods, as you’ll find out the longer you live here, but I also make a lot of pasta.” Shrugging as he spoke with a smile thrown over his shoulder at Agatha.
“I grew up…in an orphanage so what I ate was very limited, they didn’t have much money for food, so once I grew out of there and got a job I started trying all different things. I wanted to enjoy food in a way I never could before.” And he liked to help others do the same, and he did a good job of it he felt. He certainly got Melody trying all kinds of new things, and Aloysius as well at times.
“I only recently met my father and when he came to live here, with Aloysius and myself, I wanted to connect with not just him but also a part of myself…the only part I thought was worth it.” He didn’t once mention his mother, or her culture, plus only his father was worth connecting with. “So I like to try lots of Italian food to connect to my fathers culture.”

“Oh, I see. I think I’ll try that then.” It seemed normal enough, and if they were making tea as a backup, then she could fall back on that if it didn’t suit her tastes. As long as Liam was eating it as well, she didn’t really worry about it being something dangerous.
Listening to the small lecture she was receiving, she found the information lining up with some that she had read in a few of the books stored in the library here. There was a large difference between individuals on this planet, something that seemed foreign to her, even with all that she was missing from the past.
“I see, so it’s from the place your father was from. At least you stand to keep that sort of familial history alive; that’s admirable. And from what I can tell, it always smells tasty, that’s the word I believe?” To carry tradition or history forward was endearing, considering humans apparently didn’t have as much of an intimate understanding of their lifetimes as she had guessed at having in the past. The thought still made something bubble up inside, like an ember not quite burning but not quite put out.
Sighing slightly as she let that thought pass by, she focused on the one word that stood out, orphanage. It had popped up a few times in the historical record, but it wasn’t a concept she understood just yet. It wasn’t a common occurrence, apparently, in the more industrial and advanced society that things were apparently in here now.
“I think I like that idea, of trying all sorts of food. Since you’ve been doing it awhile then perhaps you can help in this endevour of mine. I can’t really remember what things were like back there; food wasn’t something that came up in my memories often.” Either because of the gaps or because there hadn’t been any when she was in that library, the one so very different from the one here.

“Yes, that would be the right word, and thank you. I never had attachments growing up, nothing familial, so now that I have that and a culture I’ve taken to embracing it as best I can.” It helped that unknowingly he’d married an Italian as well, he hadn’t known he was Italian till after he’d started dating Aloysius, and seeing as he wanted nothing to do with his mother it was the perfect culture to embrace as he had two connections to it.
“Oh! Of course! I can help you try all sorts of things. We can cook and bake as well, try and make things you want to try.” Better than always buying things from restaurants, though he did enjoy doing that, there was something very comforting in making your own meal or baking yourself and watching as the food baked in the oven or cooked on the stove top. It was just very…homey and Liam needed that in his life so much.
“We can, if you want, get cooking magazines and books as well. That way we can pick things out and try something new every day or every other perhaps? We can do the shopping together as well if you want.” Rather than ordering the groceries, which was convenient as hell, it might be nice to teach Agatha how to navigate the grocery store and find things. How to handle checking herself out as well as going over produce, and meats, he certainly thought it was a good idea.

“Okay, I’ll remember that for the future.” Something about what he was saying felt sad, though the fact that things were better now must be balancing it all out. Something about Liam had always been so bright; it was a bit much sometimes, like it was going now as he listed things on and talked excitedly over the options and opportunities he wanted to help with.
“Over time, yes, since I have that kitchen set up in the other home.” It meant she’d have to learn the skills required to use all the things that had been repaired and added to that place. There was never a rush though it seemed from either Desiree or Liam. Aloysius was one she could tell was avoiding her, not that she particularly cared or liked him much either way.
“I don’t think I’m quite ready to go out to a store, that’s where people congregate, and I quite like not having to interact with many just yet. It’s quiet here, and I prefer that; the magazines might be nice, though, as I do enjoy reading.”
Looking over the cup of hot chocolate, she took a cautious sip at first. It wasn’t a taste she couldn’t place, but it wasn’t bad, just new. “Interesting… It’s very creamy, not as sharp as tea.” Which was something she’d liked and had found was in abundance here because of Aloysius. The variety had been a factor in her trying that, though. This could be nice just to have at any time.

“Yes, that kitchen you have in your home is really nice.” His husband had gone all out on it, making sure it would suit whatever needs she had and then some. It wasn’t spoiling it was simply being prepared for anything, and making sure she had her needs met before ever having those needs arise, it was a good plan and he’d agreed with it.
Glad she liked the hot chocolate, or at least didn’t hate it, Liam took a seat once everything was on the table. “No, hot chocolate isn’t. You can add flavors to it, I’ve seen some with peppermint sticks or cream added.” It was all about adding flavor to fit the season and still give that wintery feel and the comfort, it was an enjoyable drink.
“When you are ready we’ll try grocery shopping, I will get magazines and books though.” And he’d instead show her how to order groceries online, she could at least learn to do that, he didn’t want her unable to help herself incase anything happened, or for when she did decide to live on her own. He wouldn’t hinder someones independence and ability to stand on their own two feet.

“It does look better than it was, from what I can remember.” Though she didn’t really have anything to compare it to otherwise, at least not yet really. The manor was a larger building anyway so the fact the kitchen here was large just seemed reasonable.
The options sounded interesting, something to try at some point in the future, considering it seemed like Liam was more than willing to support this venture. Sipping more of her drink, she nodded at his compromise. At least things could be sent directly here, something that bothered her at first until she realized the delivery drivers didn’t come in or really care about who lived inside the manor as long as they got paid apparently.
“Thank you, I look forward to it, so let’s eat lunch now because it smells delicious.”
