Tufaha, a lioness who always felt more comfortable on the outskirts of the Pridelands, away from prying eyes staring at her vibrant pelt, had thought the ancestors blessed her with her own secret love story when Badimo waltzed into her life. Reflecting on the epic tale of Queen Kiara and King Kovu, she envisioned herself being the lioness to bring the Outlanders into the Pridelands and uniting them, just as Queen Kiara had done generations ago!
Alas, Badimo had other plans, other agendas, other lionesses... He was gone nearly as fast as he arrived, leaving only a broken heart in his wake. Well... At least he was gone from her life and Tufaha could move on, a wiser lioness for all the trouble she got meddling with outsiders.
When her belly became rounder in the coming months, she realized at once what had happened. Ashamed and afraid that she would be thrown out of the Pridelands, or shunned for her actions if the cubs' father would ever be revealed, she explained questions away with chagrin, claiming a failed romance with a rogue. Partial truths and careful paws, she did not frequent the borders any further and took solace in the care of her pridemates.
Now, three beautiful cubs are here and Tufaha is relieved to find they bear more of a resemblance to her than their father. She plans to raise them with as much help from the pride as she can get as a single mother, and will often warn them of the dangers of the Outlands. If all goes to plan, they shall never know of their father, or have the misfortune of knowing him. The Pridelands are there home and she intends to keep her secret in order to stay there.
