Gemology: Val used to study mineralogy on Velencya for ways that they could be used in ways that could help their world in some way, whether that was using minerals to make improvements to health, studying soil quality for ways to make growing plants in enhanced ways, enhancing tech materials, etc. However once she came to Earth she found herself fascinated by the gems that could be used here and moved her studies towards Gemology.
Hair Styling: This was something that she always wanted to do but wasn't able to focus on while being in the Vanguard and before they landed on Earth since it served no battle purpose other than getting hair out of the way. She likes to style other's hair, since she can't really do it on her own hair except for more simple styles! and dyeing them as well. Anything that someone asks for she's willing to do! Except for trimming currently. She doesn't trust her skills enough to be able to cut parts of someone's hair off and still be able to work with it.
Going to concerts: Since she couldn't really experience this before, she loves going to concerts! She does tend to wear ear protection because of the loud noise, but she still finds herself enjoying the music and crowds as well. She has yet to meet any band members but she finds it fun just to hang out with other fans as well.
Virtues:
Determined -- Val will follow through once she has made a decision, all the way to the end. Whether that is helping someone or attempting to create or find an answer to something. This is mostly shown when helping others.
Enthusiastic -- Often gets quite excited and willing to do things, whether that's helping others or starting a new project or finally getting something done, one can often find Val smiling and possibly making whispered squeal/excited noises when this happens. She is a lively spirit where her passions are involved, and her enthusiasm is often contagious and inspiring.
Flaws:
Callous: Due to her experiences on Velencya she's become quite callous in how she speaks when it comes to other's faults and problems that they have caused themselves and will speak to others quite harshly without thinking about it. If one does not know her better, her bluntness can often come across as unapproachable or cruel.
Overly-sensitive: As the saying goes, don't dish it if you can't take it, unfortunately Val hasn't been able to master this concept herself and will often take even small constructive criticisms as an attack on her person and may think of herself as a failure. While she doesn't become mean, she will often find herself feeling quite sad or depressed afterwards, and it may take her some time to "recover" from the remark.
