It'd been days since the dual incidents of a boardgame gone nightmare inducing and than the stalker that wasn't there, or maybe they were? It could have been someone, or something, invisable for all he knew. The point was however that Blaise had not checked in with the other, and he knew they were supposed to be a team, they were both under Chalcanthite and his spouse and that meant he should be checking on the other.

He now he wished he knew who they were; and he didn't. That was why he'd reached out to arrange a meeting with the other, they needed to talk, he'd set the location for the meeting at a small local cafe. It was something small but with quality coffee, as well as biscuits which were made in house, the tea selection was good as well - nicely varried. It wasn't a huge selection, not by any means, but it varried enough that there would be something for everyone within reason.

Now to see if the other would come, if he'd gotten the message, while he waited Blaise had ordered himself a latte and a small dish of biscuits to go with it.

Arranged had been a strong word, with how little Rafayel had actually responded or looked at the message on the magical compact thing. Avoiding the issue had been his main focus after everything, even after meeting Magnesia. Actually, powering up was the lowest priority if he could manage it.

So with the meeting that the other had mentioned coming up, he still didn't want to go. They hadn't seen him as a civilian, didn't know his name as one, or anything. Which meant now that he was standing in line and looking around the cafe, both of them were blind to things. He didn't know what the other looked like either, at least not exactly.

Scratching at the back of his neck, a habit that was starting to form even when powered down, he looked at the menu and internally cringed. Nothing really looked fresh enough, and most of the drinks had too much sugar. It was a bit frustrating, but he'd ordered just a hot tea and paid before looking around inconspicuously.

He'd dressed down a bit, just in black slacks and a grey distressed sweater under his coat to help fight against the chill in the air that came with the changing of seasons. There was still a way to not have to deal with all this; he could just walk away, and unless Desiree or Liam found him, he could just slip between employers and avoid going home. It wouldn't be hard, considering he barely went to his house between jobs, often opting to go to clubs or spend nights with people at other places.

Blaise was dressed in what passed for casual for him, which was also what he normally wore, because while he liked to look put together he did not like to stand out too much. Though he had discovered that he stood out here, in this country and this city, more than he'd thought he would. While he could have dressed down further, in order to fit in, there was a certain level of dressing down that he would not go down to when out in public. That was all to say that he was dressed in a nice mulberry colored cashmere sweater, something light and not too warm, paired with a pair of dark wash jeans and a pair of black shoes.

Sitting with his coffee, something he was sipping casually, he was here to enjoy his time and relax...not rush through things. He would enjoy his coffee and he would do so at his own pace. He knew he hadn't thought this through as well as he could have, and clearly should have, it had been after the fact while walking here that he'd thought of how to identify the other.

Now he wished he'd thought about it sooner, a lot sooner, so he wouldn't be in this mess. But then suddenly, like a bolt of lightening, an idea hit and he stood up. Raising his voice as he spoke, mentioning he was meeting someone here, a friend from the internet, and they had never seen each other in person before. He was Blaise, introducing himself, he hoped his friend was here or would be soon.

It was a bit embarassing, to say the least, but it was what it was and he needed to somehow find the other. Other than speaking up and mentioning a blind date he figured this was the best option to go with in order to hopefully meet up with the other.

By the time his tea was ready at the pick-up counter, he noticed someone standing up and speaking about a meeting. For a moment, he stared blankly at the man, partially just in awe at how awkward they'd gone about things.

The name was familiar, at least, so after he grabbed a napkin, he walked over to them. "Cute." And then he sat down with his tea and added a pack of sugar before stirring it.

His knuckles still hurt a bit, leaving him wincing slightly when he tapped them against the table's surface. " So. Blaise, anything new come up since we last spoke on discord?" Giving them an amused look as he blew at his tea to cool it a bit.

"It was the best I could come up with, and far better than a blind date which wouldn't have made a lot of sense." And would have been so very awkward for them both. "I hope that wasn't too bad for you." He said nodding his head once while sipping his drink, slowly, and setting his cup down. "I didn't want to make it took bad for you, since it was me who forgot thatg we'd need to know each others names and how to find each other." It was all his fault, and he knew it, so he'd done the best he could while taking the other into account when making his sudden decision.

"Ah, I'm doing well. Though I'm looking over my shoulder a whole lot more, I feel paranoid to be honest." But was it really paranoia? Something had really been following them that night, of that he was sure, even if they'd never seen what had been following them. He hadn't wanted to see what it was either, still didn't, he didn't trust it.

"Sleep has a been a bit....uncomfortable as well. I won't lie." Because he had no shame in it, not when they'd both dealt with that night together.

"You've been ok since that night?" He questione, leaning forward, he didn't want other people to hear them. Thankfully this place was small and most people were polite, despite his display moments before, and were not listgening to them but he didn't want to chance it really.

"Umm, nothing new but I did want to see if you actually knew about the cities...issues at this time of year."

"Wouldn't have been the first blind date I'd been set up on with a man." Chuckling slightly, he finally sipped at his tea to see if it was at the right level of sweetness for the flavor. It was a bit too bitter still, the taste of blueberries and lavender needing a bit more sugar to even it out, so he took another packet from the caddy on the table and added it to his drink.

Listening as they spoke, he kept quiet at first and just nodded. He felt conflicted about things, though considering he'd had similar yet worse issues since then. Even now, he gently adjusted the cuff of his coat sleeve so it was sure to cover his arms. It was best not to look, even if he hadn't actually seen bugs on him or mottled acid scars on his skin.

"I've been fine, hit the club last night, so business as usual until my next work week." Got to mess around with some people, but nothing serious as usual. That seemed like it would be an even less likely thing now with all this crazy s**t shoved in his face.

"No, not really," he lied, casually avoiding things since they seemed not great either. It really was the s**t end of the stick, like Magnesia had said, two people who knew nothing shoved together, and then s**t happened.

"You up to anything interesting?"

"Yes, but it would be rude if I just sprung that on you. I made the better of the two choices, I'm not aiming to put you on the spot or make things awkward." He answered with a shake of his head, and a smile.

"That's good, that things are back to normal mostly for you." He was glad to hear that, though it seemed the other might still have an issue with looking at his arms if that cuff tugging was anything to go by. He understood that though, he really did, that game board had messed with his head as well. That was not a game he ever wanted to play again; it was not a fun game. "I haven't been to a club since, I've been trying to not go out at night." In order to avoid running into anything which might follow him home, or any dice, he had no desire to deal with that mess again - to run all the way home.

"School, that's about it, school and some light work. I've done some early holiday shopping as well." Very early but he was alright with that, it meant he'd get everything he needed in time for Christmas. "I should warn you than. I've learned that this city isn't safe this time of year...and it seems to follow right through to the new year. It's best we stay in pairs, together or with someone else, just incase." As they'd both found out, together that night, that it was best to not be out alone.

"Anything you hear people talking about, whispers and rumors, gossip, trust it's something magical going on in all likelihood." And thus it was something to treat with care and be weary of.

"How chivalrous," he laughed. It seemed like the complete opposite of how they'd acted before. At least in a sense of interacting instead of treating things like the burden they were.

"It is, I had to get together some more orders of sweet treats for the Halloween party for my client. I get to set everything up on site the afternoon of to make sure nothing melts or gets damaged in time for photos or whatever they want to do." Just another of the bigger things that would go towards his experience hours for his classes. Another requirement tucked under his belt without much sweat really.

"That's no fun, you seemed like the type to get out. Though I never thought you were a student, you seemed older than me so..." Coughing slightly at the mention of holiday shopping, he was glad he never did anything like that aside from ingredient hunting.

Hearing that things would just be going to s**t through to the new year, it didn't make him feel any better about this whole situation, but he kept that feeling far from his face and how he carried the conversation.

"Advice taken, buddy mode preferred is what you're saying. Though my schedule is quite different than yours but that mutual friend of ours probably won't care." Since he knew that the cat would probably show up or find some way to stir things up, given the fact that she had info on him that not really anyone had besides his family. And none of them were going to talk about it.

People taking photos of sweets, of some set up, he understood it but he'd never been the sort to take pictures of the food he was eating and share it about on social media. He didn't care as much about how his food looked when compared to how it tasted, but he wasn't much for showing off such things. He dressed well but without labels and name brands to be seen. There wasn't any decoration, there was no need, and he didn't go taking pictures of himself to post on social media. He posted things, of course he did, but it was always other people and places and things.

"I'm a bit too worried about something following me home, something no one ever does." It was always a hotel room, backroom, anything but his own bedroom when it came to entertaining someone. He did not invite people into his home, he didn't want to risk anyone ever turning back up and bothering him - stalking him. It was one reason, the big reason, he didn't do more than make out with females. They tended to cling more and he was not risking it one bit, he didn't need or want that in his life.

"I don't want to be a student, and I'm twenty five - I'm not that old. I was dragging my feet on the college thing and my grandfather decided to send me here with instructions to attend; and to pass. If I fail, or don't finish college here, I am cut off fully. Right now I'm just not allowed out of Destiny City." And it did feel like he was in prison, hence his wording of things just now, he was stuck here and he knew it. He just needed to get through everything, and he would, so he could leave here and he would have his inheritance. "Right now I'm somewhere between disinherited and not...." He had an allowence.

"We'll make it work, I think my schedule can bend around yours easier than the other way around. But it'll allow us to get things done, as our mutual friend wants, while keeping as safe as we can." Leaning back and reaching for his cup he took a slow sip, taking the time to look around them slowly. "This city is a mess, I'm certain my grandfather was clueless about this when he picked this place." He was certain it was a random choice as well.
