 Nikolaj had traveled several days and nights, stopping to watch bright colored bugs crawl across leaves and listening to the birds he came across in his journey. The pride was use to him heading out for a long while, he enjoyed the time to center himself and he took these trips to different places, just in search of new stories to tell and inspiration. He is an Artisan in his pride and many look to him for entertainment and fun, especially the cubs who love his stories. He was planing a get together soon and not only did he want some new inspiration, he kept his eyes open for flowers to make into paint for art at all times. He had came to a nice looking little pool of water, softly cradled in trees and the air didn’t smell of anything dangerous, so he decided to stop and rest a while. It was a very pretty sight to see, the lush green that had grown here and the movement of the water casting flickers of light along the stones at the bank and the underside of the trees. He came to the waters edge, his cold colors reflected in the rippling water and his pale icey mane caught the glimmers of light very well that danced across the water. He gazes at his distorted reflection a moment, his wide paws just inches from the water, before he lowered his wide frame to drink. He was alone for now but his mind was always wandering as in his nature to daydream. His favored time of the year was drawing near, he could feel the season turning day by day and the trees had a slight turning of color these days.

 Ada was hiding under a very low tree, noticing the male and getting nervous. She didn't want to scare him with her face and so on that she feared he would run away, but deep inside she wanted friends, people that wouldn't judge her like her family did. She craved attention but never getting any. She wanted to go up to him and say hi and not have to worry that she'd get rejected once again. She didn't know what to do so she just closed her eyes and put her head down.

Nikolaj had finished drinking when the scent of a lioness near by brought him out of his silly daydream and back into reality. He lifted his broad head and looked about, he didn't smell blood so she may not be a danger, but he was curious. He enjoyed meeting new lions and it only made sense that this lovely watering hole had someone living here. Then he spotted the rich colors and that she ways laying there with her head down and eyes closed. He didn't want to be rude and just be here without the occupant's permission, so he turned and slowly started towards where she laid, but he spoke as he did. His voice was soft but deep, like a chilled snowfield with a warm campfire in the middle, and he held him self in a very non-threatening way. " Well hello there. I am so sorry, I didn't realize this area was occupied, I didn't mean to be rude and just help myself to your water."
His pace was slow and his eyes were steady.

Ada felt his approach and was scared but he talked to her, he wasn't making fun of her. She was shocked, she opened her eyes and looked at him coming closer. She noticed his beautiful coat and mane. "H-hi" She tried to hide her fear, he seemed nice. "You can drink as much as you want, I don't mind." She smiled with her rigid smile hoping not to scare him like she did others.

He stopped not far from her, his pastel gaze was kind and now that ge got a better look at her he thought she looked awesome. He couldnt help but notice the scent of fear and that only made him concerned for her. He laid down on his soft belly and crossed his wide paws in front of himself and spoke to her again in his deep warm tone “ Oh, well thank you that is very kind! My name is Nikolaj, I have been traveling a few days, would it be alright if I rested here a while? “ he asked, worried that she was frightened by his size, he lowered his head some.

Ada looked shocked, he was asking her permission? This guy seemed like a nice guy, she wasn't used to this. She looked at him and smiled, fear leaving her. "Of course you can stay here, my name is Ada, it's nice to meet a nice lion. Stay as long as you want, I would love the company." She raised her head and smiled at him, she hoped the handsome young lion would become friends. She was so lonely.

Nikolaj got a happy and enjoyable smile, he liked meeting new lions and learning their stories. He raised his head back up and he thought over her comment about meeting “ nice lions” , it made him curious about her even more than he already was. “ Nice lions? You must have had a hard path in the past with other lions. I know lots of nicer lions you could meet! There’s Daaruk, he is the pride’s teacher, there’s Tziri, she’s the nanny. Oh! There’s Hamdan, another one of the pride’s artisans like me, you gotta watch out tho, he fancies himself as the Kings gift to lioness’ “ he said with a small chuckle, he seemed so fun and yet laid back in ways, but he couldn’t help but marvel over her pelt, as he did he got a more and more intrigued expression.

Ada looked into the lions eyes with astonishment. "Really? I would be honored to meet them." Then she stopped herself, what if they sll don't like her, what if she's too different to fit in? What if..... what if this is some nasty trick from her family to finally kill her, it's not her fault she was born different. She closed her eyes and began to cry. No handsome lion would waste his time talking to her, she wasn't worthy of any kindness, she was bad, she was worthless. She remembered all the beatings and screaming at her for little or big mistakes, but instead of overlooking them, she was blamed and she deserved to be treated like dirt. "She covered her face with her paws and continued crying.

Upon her saying she would like to meet them, he started to say something, but then he watched her expression drop as her mind filled with so many bad thoughts. Abuse was a horrible thing, something the Pridelanders didn’t do to their pride mates but he has seen the result of it before in foreigners. As she started to cry and cover her face and lay her head down, his ears drooped into his snowflake dotted mane. He wanted to make her feel better, he wanted her to see that he was not going to hurt her, he wants going to be mean to her and if anyone in his pride dared to try to be mean to her, which no one would other than Kiburi but he’s just grumpy, he would have cold claws for them to deal with. It stirred new emotions within his broad chest, affection and tenderness. An idea came into his mind and he lowered his head down where his nose was almost touching hers as he began to sing in a soft tone and he’s very good at it too, making up the song as he went along.” Don’t beeee afraid. Listen to what my heart has to saaay. You will find happiness, hhaaappiinneees, joy in your own waaayy. Don’t be afraid, take all those things you’ve been told, and throw them all awaaayy. I am here with good news, good things for your daaay. Dont be afraaaid, love finds a waaaaay. “ the melody is gentle and somewhat slow, it hurts to see her so sad, to see her so unloved, he sang things she needed to hear, she needed to know . “ don’t be afraaaid, don’t cry your sweet heart out, you are beautifuuull, beautiful, beautiful in my eyes. Don’t worry noowww, let your heart and mind seeee, the truuuth that is in meee. Come see the liiight, shining off of the trees, where my pride lives with me. I can promise you one thing, one thing every daaayyy, don’t be afraid. Love finds a waaaayyy” he didn’t know her but he could tell she was sweet, unloved and he couldn’t just not be infatuated by her.

Ada opened her eyes as she felt his closeness and was shocked when he started to sing to her. His voice was so calming and the words to the song he was singing, to her, that made her smile, she wasn't scared anymore and she touched her nose to his, wondering what that would feel like, it was cool to the touch, but she liked it. She started to purr softly. Hoping he wouldn't get grossed out she stopped purring but smiled at him. He was so nice, she felt so lucky.

At the touch of her pale nose on his and her smile returning his eyes lit and he began to smile too. It filled him with happiness to make her smile, he loved her colors and the ghoulish way she looked was exotic to him. He nuzzled her nose back and it spread into a full rub of his muzzle along hers, nuzzling her tears away. His song continued for just a moment more, his voice laced with a purr. " Don't be afraid, soon a better life, will fill your remaining daaayys. I will be heeerree, I will be neeaaarr to chase your scars awaaayyy. No moorre will they say the things that hurt you sooo. Don't be afraid, I will cover you in my paws of never ending snoooow. Ada will you be mine, miine and mine aloone?" He stopped at the question, He had no idea what he was doing nor what had came over him, but he wasn't hesitant at his offer. In his belief, songs are words of the heart, he knew from his own mouth what his heart wanted for them and he didn't seem like he had a single second thought about it, just a small blush that made the pale placed on his face flush pink. He didn't know her, her story, her life but he wanted to. However he didn't need to in order for his heart to offer it's vulnerable and yet protective side to her. She may not like the offer being so soon, to a complete stranger with only a sweet song of promise between them, he wouldn't blame her if she said no, but he wouldn't stop trying either.

Ada pulled back but then realized he was being honest, she could feel it in his song. What should she do? She couldn't help but be flattered and blushed as well. "I would be honored to be by your side" She spoke fast but it felt slow, everything slowed down, she nuzzled him back, and purred less quiet. She wondered if his family would accept her? If they were as half as nice as Niko, then they would? This was so scary, but also exciting! She wanted to protect Niko, from all the bad stuff in the world. She was wondering what to say, what to do... She knew going with him was what she wanted to do, but her head said horrible things would happen. But she had to stop herself from thinking that. She had been alone for a long time, and Niko was her savior. She would make sure he's happy no matter what.
She remembered her old pride when she was a cub, they left her out and played amongst themselves. She tried to join in with the other cubs, but they wouldn't let her, she was bad luck they told her. And when she grew old enough they kicked her out and told her never to return or else. Not even her own mother cared what happened to her. Her father was the leader, but was ashamed of having such a child. He blamed her mom so her mom blamed her. No love, no caring, barely eating. But when they kicked her out, she learned to kill prey and she learned to take care of herself. She was proud of herself for that.
She wanted to hug the lion, she wanted to feel him close to her and feel his heart beat. She had all these ideas of having cubs and being a good mom, and being in a pride. She blushed further, cubs.... wouldn't that mean.... she stopped herself and hugged the lion, tears were falling. "Thank you for saving my life, I owe you so much already..." She then kissed him and told him she will always and forever be loyal to him, no matter what! Then again with the happy tears. She was actually excited for life now, not just going through the days alone. What a great lion he is. Pure and sweet, she was in love, and it felt so good.

His heart filled with excitement that shown in his pastel eyes as she agreed to be by his side. But when she Came forward and wrapped her paws around him, a rich warmth flooded him, and He could almost taste how excited she was. In these rare and tender moments, one would want to save them and keep them in a jar forever, and in his heart and mind he will. The Song he just sang to her, he just made up right then, and there, that is going to be their song and he will sing it to her the rest of her days. The pride is going to love her, especially members of the pride like Tziri, and many of the others. He had no parents left in the pride, no siblings and no blood kin. The Nightplains lions saw to that, you would’ve thought it would be the outlanders that had killed his family, but no, they were eaten by cannibals. The pride was good to him, Tziri was basically a mother to him. Then he thought about what rank that she should be. She was healthy enough she obviously could hunt, and upon joining the pride, she would be a huntress at first, however the surely grumpy Kiburi was a hunter, and he tended to be mean to females for some reason. Then his mind went to her being a scout, Ikarta their main scout, was sweet and a fun personality even though she’s a bit of a gossip. Then his mind went to what if she was a nanny like Tziri, get to tend to the Cubs of the pride and spend a lot of time with the young ones. He had no control of what rink she would choose, but he did decide to finally say something after grooming over her a moment and listening to her, betroth herself to him.
“ there is one member of the pride that’s kind of really grumpy, especially toward females for some reason. His name is Kiburi, he is a hunter rank. I really wouldn’t want you to have to deal with him, so I was thinking about what rank you might want in the pride. There are many ranks to choose from, you can work with the scouts if you wanted to, their main scout is really kind and fun loving. Tziri is the nanny and could always use help with cub from another nanny. After the Nightplaners killed my parents and my sister when I was a cub, she took care of me like I was her own. You could always be an artist and like me too if you want! That is a few want to perform or entertain others, tell stories or sing or even create art. “

She thought about it, and decided she'd like to be a nanny. "Nanny sounds like a challenge and fun, I wasn't allowed to play with the cubs in my old pride, but I loved watching them run around causing mischievous behaviors." She giggled then placed one of her paws on his. "Does that seem good?" She asked worried she'd given the wrong answer. "But I'd like to travel with you, that's what I'd honestly like, I'm not sure I'm much of an artist, but I can help you if you ever need it." That's what she truly wanted, to be around him, and learn new things, yes, that's what she wanted. "So I guess an artist like you, and I will learn along the way, if you don't mind me tagging along?" She looked down, she didn't know if that would annoy him, she would give him time on his own if he wanted to, but she had no clue if he would want her around him often. This made her nervous, but he made her feel strong, so she looked into his beautiful eyes and waited for a response. No matter what she was going to become normal and be a great partner. He was so handsome, she couldn't believe he, of all lions would give her the time of day. She felt like a new lioness, it's been fun, she was having the time of her life. It can only go up from here, she giggled to herself.

He thought about it, a Nanny would be a good fit, and who's to say she cant still travel with him as his artistic understudy as well! He could teach her how to use her tail tuft to paint like he does and having her around sounded like such a delight! He smiled as she placed a paw on his, he thought the way she look up at him was adorable too. " I have an Idea. You could be a Nanny and still travel with me and study too! Having you to companion with me would bring me absolute delight! Then one day, when you get your art skills nice and strong, you could change ranks. I could time my trips for supplies to go along with when you are available from Nannying to travel, it would be fun!" He very much doubts the cubs would be afraid of her, they have all kinds of interesting looking lions that are in their ever growing pride and she would fit right on in! He smiled widely to her and nuzzled her once more, he was excited and needed to gather supplies for painting before they left for home... home.. Their home, together. " I will hurry and gather what I need from here, it is a long walk back to the Pridelands"
