Last call had come and gone, but Addy sat hunched over the bar, her drink dripping with cool condensation as it sat next to her untouched. She rolled the little di, so unassuming now, between her fingers, feeling the indents in the wood before she let it bounce and roll along the bar. It came to skittering halt on one, but nothing happened. It seemed it only had enough juice to teleport her to that hellscape once, but she hadn't been able to put it down since. The damn thing sat on her night stand and lived in her pocket all day before she found herself contemplating it at Cedar and Smoke. Had Destiny City always been this ******** up? Is this what her aunt was always going on about? Why didn't she just pack Addy up and leave years ago? Dragging her eyes away from the bar top, she scanned the rest of the establishment. It looked like it was just her and the barkeep now. Best not keep him from his closing duties. One hand idly rolled the di on the bar over and over again while the other picked up the Adios ******** next to her. The ratios would be off now that all the ice had melted, but she wasn't about to let it go to waste, so down the hatch it went with a few expert gulps. Addy fished around in the pocket of her jacket for a few bills to leave on the bar as a tip and she scooped up the dice for one last roll. Wait. Dice? Her eyes locked on the two little pieces of opalized wood now bouncing across the bar and she looked up at the bar tender, realizing, with a drop in her stomach, that he would likely be drawn in with her. "SON OF A ********!" she screamed as the world around her began to shift in a blur of shadow, her voice ringing in her ears.

He watched the last few regulars trickle out some minutes before closing, acknowledging each with a quiet nod as they stood from their respective seats. As far as bars went, Cedar & Smoke wasn't one to stay open too, too late. Not that he ran the place alone that he couldn't reasonably do it, but the chaos of nightlife wasn't something he wanted to deal with. Plus it was easier to keep people responsible, or otherwise get them home safely at a more reasonable hour than "a**-crack of dawn" like he'd seen when he was younger.
Wesley had already started closing up shop, moving quietly, expertly behind the bar. There was an economy in his gestures, long since smoothed over in practice and repetition. The quiet clatter of the die his last patron for the night had been rolling for a while now tipped the corners of his lips upward the slightest bit. It was an interesting little sound in the quiet, closing hours of his space. He didn't mind it at all. Nor did he mind staying open a few minutes later, if it helped a patron get their bearings before heading home.
He heard her finally stand and was about to turn to her and offer a polite "good night" and perhaps to get her a cab, if she was interested, when he spotted the small wooden die resting behind the counter instead of on top of it, where she'd been rolling. He blinked as he reached for it, gingerly picked it up, inspected it for a second, and rolled it back toward her.
Just as two more dice rolled toward him.
He blinked.
The world shifted all around him.

Addy sighed deeply as she glared down at the glowing di. The two shown bright and she picked them up again with a grumble. How had she wound up back here so quickly? Who, exactly, did she upset to drag her in twice? The di just appearing felt targeted, like some sort of trickster spirit had followed her to the bar and she had been too distracted to notice. "FINE!" Addy yelled up into the air, looking around as if expecting to see a large figure looming over them, watching them suffer and cackling maniacally. She, of course, saw nothing but darkness and her voice was muffled by its oppressive presence. Pale pink eyes drifted over to the barkeep and she sighed once more before addressing him, "Hey. So um. I'm Addy. I don't have a lot of time before it gets mad at me. Have you ever seen Jumanji? Cause uh. We just got Jumanjied. I got stuck here the other day, but if you roll the dice, you can get out," she held out her hand, showing both of her dice as proof. "I'm not sure if this is my fault or if it followed me to the bar or...what...but I know others that have been stuck here too, so I know it isn't just me...Or I guess us, this time. Either way I'm sorry." Addy felt that familiar pushing along her back likes hands forcing her forward and she fought against them for his benefit so he could see as she was clearly shoved forward by an invisible force. "The game doesn't like it if you take too long. As far as I can tell each square has some awful surprise. I got this one last time so you're going to see me get - ********!" The unseen force successfully shoved her into the second square and the invisible a*****e wasted little time in shoving her forward. Addy was thrown to the ground and the dice slipped out of her hand, skittering across the square as they did. "....Shoved," she finished through a mop of hair that had fallen into her face with an indignant huff.

Space 2 Something pale and ghostly slams into your back; you don’t see it, but it feels like it’s trying to push you forward–or to the side, or off the path. Thankfully, the magical glass walls stop you from going too far, but this is jarring–and might hurt.
It was bizarre, though for someone who'd never encountered anything remotely supernatural in his life he didn't look overly rattled. Surprised, maybe, and uncertain, but he looked as solid as usual as he glanced around at his newly formed surroundings. His last patron for the evening was there as well, and he regarded her with a slight nod of his head.
"Wesley," he returned the greeting with a small smile that turned grateful as she quickly went on to explain what they had to do.
And then quickly got whisked away by an unseen something.
That same something seemed to put itself to his back as well, and before he knew it he got shuffled along the path right alongside her. Rather than fight it, because it didn't seem like it was trying to hurt him anyway. It just shoved him forward rather unceremoniously, and when he came to a stop it was with enough force that he was forced down to his knees. He held on to his die, though, and rolled it only after he caught his breath.
"I'm guessing, like Jumanji, it isn't exactly friendly?" he asked, glancing toward Addy.

Quote: Space 8: Something slithers across your foot, so fast that you might have thought you imagined it. Except, a few seconds later, it happens again. And then, again. Snakes keep moving across your space. If you move, they see you–and they might bite. Some of them hiss, some are capable of spraying a poisonous liquid that can cause itchiness or burning. Scooping up her dice, she tucked the inert one away into her pocket and climbed to her feet. She offered Wesley a hand up before looking back down the pathway. "Last time I was shoved, nearly attacked by a dog, sliced by thin, razor sharp wires...And then there were the bats...Yeah. Not friendly," she replied as she stepped forward, thankful she had rolled a six. She could be out sooner...Not that she would leave without Wesley...But the sooner this was all over, the better. "But nothing followed me home except the damn di." Coming to a stop in her new square, she looked back at her fellow cellmate and offered him what she hoped to be a comforting smile. The more she encountered these things, the less it rattled her, but this might be the first time he had ever been through something like this. Hopefully a confident smile would help him make it through. "This city is full of weird s**t, but this is survivable. I promise. I was drunk last time I was here and even I made it. Just keep focused and keep rolling, no matter what you see or hear, okay Wesley?" When something darted over her foot, she jumped a little and glanced down, only to see nothing. Her eyes flicked back to the man and she opened her mouth to speak but was interrupted by the sensation on her boot again and again. Was that...hissing? Slowly looking down, her breath caught in her throat as she realized the entire floor was covered in snakes. Some she recognized, some looked like something out of a fantasy movie, but once thing was for sure. The more she moved, the more they noticed her. Oddly enough, the snakes filled her with a sense of calm. What had scared her was their sudden appearance. She'd always been fond of the things. They were just animals, after all. Deciding to stay still until she had to move squares, she rolled the di on her palm, careful not to let it fall into the writing pit below.

Space 4 Something smells rotten. You can’t see very far into the darkness, but if you squint closely a dark form seems to be dragging itself along the ground. Sometimes you see a pale hand almost close enough to grab you–or, maybe something does grab you. It’s cold, and frightening, and it’s trying to drag you out of bounds.
He grimaced at her summary of her previous encounter with whatever this was. "Thanks for the heads up," he said, then watched as she walked off to her new square. He did as well, shoving down his growing nerves. It seemed like something he'd just have to power through, and provided he manage to make it out alive it sounded like he'd be able to get home scot-free.
You know. Harrowing, potentially near-death experience notwithstanding.
He appreciated her efforts to encourage him, though, and hopefully the smile he shot back at her was as encouraging to her as hers was to him.
Though the smile slipped clean off his face when he got a whiff of something rotten in his new square. It very nearly made him gag, but he was no stranger to intense, unpleasant smells. Part of the charm of growing up the way that he did. At this point in his life he could look back and call it all a good, character-building experience, but going through it back then he remembered wishing things could just be better. Thankfully, as luck would have it, things did get better for him. It just took a little while.
"Will do!" he finally called back in reply, taking slow, careful steps forward as he squinted through the dark of his square. At some point he could swear he saw a pale something reaching for him. His instincts were what saved him from whatever it was actually reaching him, though he didn't waste a second after seeing it for the first time and rolled his die to hopefully prompt the "end" of his current square.

"You've got this! It's gonna be okay! Just w-AH ********, GROSS," Addy exclaimed as her boot sunk into...something. The smell that assaulted her nostrils could only be described as unwashed, swampy toad taint and it made her gag as she brought her shirt up at the neck to cover her face. "God DAMNIT," she howled as with a wet sucking sound, her other foot sunk even further, throwing her off balance. Addy barely managed to catch herself on the invisible prison walls of her square before trying to pull out her right foot. To her dismay, it sunk deeper, the strange, swampy quicksand devouring her leg up to her knee faster than she could breathe. The more she fought, the lower she sank, and a crushing weight began to close in around her thighs as she pushed forward as close to the other square as possible while rapidly sinking. For a moment, she stood still, and blessedly, her descent paused. "I. ********. HATE. THIS. PLACE!" she screamed, now only visible from the waist up. "If you find your way into this one, try not to fight it," she called out as she rolled the di on her palm once again, trying not to think about how hard it would be to climb out.

Space 9 The smell of saltwater fills the air, and you can hear the water lapping against the shore. You hear boards creaking, and bells in the distance. And then, a song. Haunting. Ghostly, and calling you. For a second, you fall in love. And then, water fills your lungs. You’re choking, you can’t breathe. The song is loud and seems to caress you, even as a wet chill gathers in your square. Scaly hands reach for you, you gently caressing, and try to lure you into an endless sleep.
He smirked when she screamed her frustrations about whatever this place was, though it didn't quite reach his eyes. He was more tha inclined to agree, though as he moved on to his next square he was pretty sure he couldn't afford to be quite as vocal as she was about it right then. Later, assuming he made it out of here, he might pour himself a good, stiff drink, though.
"Hang in there!" he called out as the smells and sounds of the beach welcomed him. Normally it would have been soothing, but as boards creaked beneath his weight with each step he couldn't help the sense of foreboding. Particularly not after Addy's warning about her current square reminded him that there was something he had to be looking out for. Bells in the distance caught his attention, sending a chill down his spine as he walked further along. What came next made him stop in his tracks, though.
Not so much the song, but the sudden wash of emotions he had long since thought he'd given up on.
And then came the water.
He made a choking sound as the sudden cold filled his lungs. He tried to breathe but found, with a quickly mounting panic, that he couldn't. The song got louder. He fell to his knees. He felt something cold and scaly reaching for him...
With only the thought of needing to get the <********> out of there so he could hopefully breathe again, he rolled his die.
