It's an innocent invitation, and one you would be a fool to decline. The promise of good food, drink, and company is tantalizing enough, but the prospect of inheriting treasure? Why wouldn't you go?
Your arrival to the large manor is uneventful, though you find it strange that there are multiple guests. You were hoping that this would be a one-on-one event with your mysterious benefactor. Ah well, surely it would end up with you making new friends?
The meet and greet among all the guests is a short affair, doors to the dining room opening seemingly by themselves, and you feel a gentle compulsion to enter. The dining room itself is grand, lavish, and the behemoth of a dining table is covered with all the mouthwatering food you could imagine. Each seat has a namecard, and you find yours with ease, digging in to the scrumptious meal with zeal and settling in amongst your fellow diners.
Conversation flows like the delicious drink you are served, your goblet never empty and always the drink you desire it to be. The food is never cold, and never too hot. A banquet to remember.
It's only when things draw to a close that you realize....something's off.
"Time to work off your meal, my dear guests..." The voice rumbles from everywhere around you. There's no way to know where it's coming from, not anywhere you see the sudden fog engulfing you.
"Dinner and a show...Enjoy." A show for who?! You scramble to exit your chair as a scream rings out beside you.
It's time to leave. Or, at least...try to.
