As autumn's chill began to creep across the Soquili Lands once more, the harvest season began in earnest and the vibrant greens of grass and shrubs began paling to gold; the proud trees leaves flaring shades of yellow, orange and red. Stanza felt her energy surging as such changes began to take place, tracking easily the death of summer and the slow trek toward winter's sweet freeze. Autumn and Winter were forever her favorite seasons, just like the ice on her coat, a likely legacy of those that came before her. Though she was not close to her family anymore, she knew enough of relatives to make certain guesses, at least.
Maybe her brothers had grown up to love the oppressive heat of summer, the way the very air seemed like it could bake bread without need for an oven. Such a climate merely made Stanza tired, made her long to wade into a deep lake or to hide herself in the shadowy embrace of the woods and rest in the cool moss and lichen until the weather learned to cooperate.
Spring, in its own way, wasn't so bad. The weather not yet harsh, the frequent rain feeding sweet new growths of grass and leaf. The riotous bloom of flowers and endearing stumble of baby animals were perhaps her favorite parts of sprint, if she had to pick. It was hard to dislike anything with the birds singing so happily and the endearing antics of baby rabbits and the like happening right beneath one's nose. So no, Stanza couldn't resent that...
But summer, oh how summer sapped her strength and made her reluctant to do anything at all. It was only now that fall returned she had the energy to wander, to begin exploring in the hopes of encountering old or new friends. "Now then, let's see who we can find out in the world, shall we?"
